The reason Britain made this huge investment was to bring investments, tourism and increased population for the purpose of making the island financially self sufficient.

I became interested in the island and the society, the inhabitants. How they live, how they feel, being isolated. It's a very sad picture of the demographics. Young people have been leaving the island for the last 15 or 20 years because of the cheapness of life, unemployment and lack of social lifts. The population of the island is melting like a snowman in March. We are losing such a unique society.
