The bottom line is that nearly every song has been written or cowritten by Teddy Park and his close associates, plus others for certain songs. Unless they're credited for the song then the members did NOT write them but they have said that they have CONTRIBUTED to the song, which may be suggesting holding or changing a note during recording or singing the line slightly differently. They're NOT writing or producing songs. Unfortunately their fanbase is largely made up of tweens and young teens who have created their own reality that their bias (favorite member) has written songs, that their company doesn't give them credit and that they should leave, and the girls "deserve better". I see it every day in the comments. Rosé, who is my bias, has a beautiful solo called ON THE GROUND which fans insist that she wrote. In her Zach Sang interview she said "When they showed the song to me they weren't just pitching it to me, they were showing it to other people but I really liked it." She DOES have a cowriting credit on the song so she had contributed to the working of the rough version of the song enough to warrant a credit. What I'm trying to say is that unfortunately you have to take these comments with a grain of salt as you're getting information from a lot of starry-eyed twelve-year-olds.

I think you guys should know that there are two types of rappers in kpop, there are -Idol rappers- which are the majority of rappers in kpop (including blackpink’s Jennie and Lisa ((I’m not saying they are not talented, trying to discredit them or anything because they ARE talented, I’m just explaining the difference)) who only rap in their songs and can’t really rap out of that, so they can’t freestyle and all that jazz, and then there’s -actual rappers- who know about hip hop culture, write their own lyrics and can actually freestyle and all of that, an example of actual rappers are the BTS rap line since RM and SUGA were underground rappers before joining BTS and as a group they all went to the US to learn with other hip hop artists from scratch (English is not my first language so I’m sorry for explaining this so poorly)

And of course I have to recommend my favorite song by them which is Lovesick Girls, it’s considered a “pink” song so you can see another side of them.
