- I walked the beaches of Copacabana, Ipanema and Urca during the first weekend of partial block in Rio de Janeiro in the second wave of contamination of the pandemic.
See what is allowed and what is not allowed during the block that runs between 03/26/2021 to 04/04/2021:
DETERMINATIONS
- The practice of individual physical activities in squares, parks and public places in the municipality, as well as in open spaces of common use in private areas, is allowed, as long as it does not generate agglomerations and meets life protection measures.
ARE PROHIBITED
- The permanence of people on public roads from 11 pm to 5 am.
- The functioning of: Museums, galleries, libraries, cinemas, theaters, concert halls and presentation rooms.
- Nightclubs, dance clubs, dance halls, party houses and others.
- Hairdressing salons, barber shops, beauty and aesthetics institutes.
- Social and sports clubs and leisure services.
- Amusement parks and circuses.
ARE SUSPENDED
Face-to-face service, of any nature, in:
- bars, cafeterias, restaurants and the like, except for the drive thru, take away and home delivery modalities (delivery), forbidden, in any case, consumption on the spot;
- kiosks in general, including those on the seafront, except in the form of home delivery (delivery) and take-away;
- the exercise of other economic activities in the sands of the beaches and in the streets, including the fixed and itinerant itinerant commerce, the commerce of food, beverages and products by means of motor vehicles, towable or powered by human propulsion, the commerce carried out in special fairs, street fairs, antique fairs and arts fairs;
- events of any nature, parties, samba circles, in public and private areas, as well as sports competitions;
- the entrance of buses and other charter vehicles in the Municipality, except those that provide regular services for employees of companies or for hotels, whose passengers prove, in this case, accommodation reservation;
- the parking of motor vehicles across the seafront, except for residents, the elderly, people with disabilities, hotel guests and taxis;
- the use of the lanes of the avenues Delfim Moreira, Vieira Souto and Atlântica and both directions of the lanes of the Aterro do Flamengo as leisure areas.
The permanence of individuals:
- on the streets, areas and public squares of the Municipality from 11 pm to 5 am;
- on the sands of the beaches, at any time, including the practice of team sports;
MAY WORK
- Snack bars, restaurants and bars: exclusively for home delivery, take-away and drive-thru, being forbidden to attend in person and the public to remain inside the establishment.
- Food and beverage trade services, such as butchers and fishmongers, supermarkets, fresh produce, bakeries, convenience stores and others, where consumption is prohibited on site and the extension of opening hours is recommended.
- Health care services, pharmacies and trade in medical and supplementary and optical equipment
- Veterinary assistance, services and trade in animal supplies.
- Trade in building materials, hardware and the like.
- Banking and lottery establishments, credit institutions, insurance, capitalization, commerce and administration of real estate values and postal service.
- Wholesale trade and the supply and logistics chain.
- Free and mobile fairs.
- Newsstands, with exposure to the sale and sale of alcoholic beverages prohibited.
- Fuel and gas trade.
- Mechanics service and trade in auto parts and accessories for vehicles and bicycles, in addition to vehicle rental services.
- Hospitality and accommodation, with the operation of food services restricted to guests.
- Passenger transport.
- Industrial activities and civil construction works.
- Home delivery services.
- Telecommunications, call center and call center services.
- Funeral services.
- Laundry services.
Other activities that do not allow stoppage.
Activities must operate considering the very high risk alert level for the entire municipality.

No lockdown like sao paolo?
@@12NFLtitles My wife was already there for a few weeks. I got there on the 19th and we stayed in Rio. It certainly was not normal. There were noticavly fewer people out, but restaurants there were open. We went to Buzios from Monday 5o Thursday. Things were pretty normal there. But that's when they announced the lockdown for Rio. When we got back restaurants were only open for take out. People in streets were relatively sparse.

Que maravilha! Um final de tarde na Urca, na Praia Vermelha, curtindo um visual de amolecer os corações mais empedernidos. Urca de tantos musicais que fizeram época na história da época de ouro da MPB, as "guerrinhas" amorosas entre Dalva e Herivelto Martins que enriqueceram toda uma geração de apaixonados pela música popular com letra, música, harmonia e voz. Que época...!
Grande Otelo e Carmem Miranda no Cassino da Urca, antes do embarque para os EUA da Pequena Notável, que era portuguesa de nascimento e brasileira de corpo e alma desde os 2 aninhos....os bondinhos...o Morro Cara de Cão ou como dizia Lévy Strauss, " Boca Banguela". Reparem como ele captou bem o contorno do Morro...a tragédia do Bateau Mouche, na virada de 31 de dezembro de 1988...estava atravessando a Baía de Guanabara naquele momento e, horas mais tarde, saberia do ocorrido...55 pessoas...e, a justiça não foi, ainda, concretizada, parafraseando Strauss, o grande etnólogo, "tristes trópicos".
Copacabana dispensa comentários com o seu maravilhoso calçadão. Gente, o Copacabana Palace é de deixar qualquer ser humano, em estado de graça.
Ipanema, com o seu Parque Garota de Ipanema, o famoso costão no final do Posto 6, parada obrigatória. As tardes de domingo de Maria das Graças, com direção de Wally Salomão, show no Teatro da Praia, Lagoa, "Fatal", carradas de público...ah! para quem não a conhece, dou uma dica: Gal Costa Penna Burgos Pereira, mais conhecida como Gal. Tempo de absurdo desbunde e pré-Aids. Quanta gente maravilhosa acontecendo no RJ...Hélio Oiticica, Lígia Clarck, Domingos de Oliveira, impossível nomear todos...a Pedra da Gávea, símbolo máximo, com o Leblon e seus "Dois Irmãos" eternos.
Saudades de Tom Jobim, na Plataforma, com as suas tiradas inteligentíssimas!
O RJ, definitivamente, amado Tom, não é para amadores! O Leblon é lindíssimo, Cazuza e Lauro Corona dando pinta em finais de tarde...mara!

Praia Vermelha still nice, but Corona-situation here is pretty scary now. Nice filming, still it would be nice seeing something else than the famous beaches in the south.
A total different Rio up north from Central! Interesting for people from other countries too see something from Zona Norte, I think. Real life up in Penha or Complexo do Alemao for example?

Rio de janeiro tem praia deserta? Sem calçadão e trânsito.
sim, diversas praias selvagens , especialmente na área de barra de
guaratiba.
Deserta eu não diria, Alessandra. Mas da Praia da Barra até a Praia do Perigoso o volume de pessoas é menor. Na Praia da Barra, da Reserva e do Recreio, que é mesma praia mudando de nome na sua extensão; e pela sua grande extensão há apenas alguns trechos mais movimentados. A partir dali, a praia da Macumba já é um pouco mais movimentada. Depois temos Prainha e Grumari que costumam ser bem vazias durante a semana e outras que ai sim poderíamos dizer desertas, que são Praia do Inferno, Praia Funda, Praia do Meio e Praia do Perigoso que possuem acesso somente por trilha.
Tem uma faixa de praia também desértica na Restinga de Marambaia, mas lá não conta porque é área militar de acesso proibido, somente militares a frequenta.

Do people speak English there or Spanish?
The general population, mostly (basic services) are unable to serve you in languages other than Portuguese.
But services related to tourism and more sophisticated establishments can serve you in English and Spanish.
Usually the middle class and the upper class have some knowledge of English and Spanish.

I have mixed feelings about this video. It's sort of bittersweet. Of course the beaches and the people of Rio are always lovely to see! It looks like this video was shot in the early evening, near sunset? The soft light is certainly beautiful.
However, this is NOT what a proper lockdown should look like. The posted rules are OK but people need to take them much more seriously. There are still far too many people on the promenade and hanging around the kiosks. Seeing this I'm afraid of what the inner streets of Rio will look like.
Every day we read in the news how Brazil breaks more records in number of contaminations and deaths due to the virus. And we all know that not all of them are properly counted either, like in the favelas, so there must be even more. It's a tragedy that so many people don't seem to understand the risk.
I hope that all the lovely people in Rio de Janeiro will stay safe and healthy and alive.

@@VortC Thanks for your reply. To be clear, I think you are doing an admirable job of documenting life in Rio. I hope to see much more (yes I have subscribed to the channel). When it's safe to do so I hope you will walk the Botanical Gardens, and perhaps other parts of Rio away from the beaches. Paz!
here in brazil, politicians panicked people, certain governors and mayors got together to overthrow the president bolsonaro, and steal, there are people who die of other diseases and even gunshots, bullets and doctors put them in the covid report, where the people are fighting in hospitals and the number of complaints is being investigated, these death numbers are not true, the numbers of people recovered from covid are much higher ... politicians and doctors are receiving millions of reais, but in the name of jesus christ this will be revealed, Brazil is a tropical country and we are hot all year round, and the covid does not survive in the summer, I had covid and I didn’t feel anything, I recovered at home, drinking lots of water and lemon juice and lots of sun in the man..kk
Every place that adopted a full lockdown had greater numbers of cases and deaths compared to countries that didn't adopt lockdown. WHO already admitted lockdowns were a mistake and the use of mask is not certain.

I am not going to be mean, it looks very beautiful but I promise you, if that was some city in America the comments would be things of this sort, why all the woman are so fat lol I couldn’t see one sexy woman etc etc. listen I am just saying the way i see it. Ironically if you walk in some beach city in America practically every woman walking in bikinis is sexy. Ironically again isn’t that what Brazil is famous for, sexy women ?
Oh one more thing I went to rio and it’s like this but nothing special, on the other hand Argentina was spectacular in ever aspect.

I live in America and I see a lot of unattractive women at the beach. Beautiful people and unattractive people are everywhere!! Brazil doesn't need your validation ✌🏼
I don’t care wether Brazil needs my validation or not, I am just stating the fact. I was there and saw lot of women but normal not bad nor good. I am lost, what is it, good for being crazy and carnival, or because people walking around at some beach with their bikini and viewers say omg, Brazil is so great. It’s nice. But stop selling to people who haven’t been there and get them disappointed once they get there.
Actually I have been to many countries and I truly believe American woman are the best looking and shape of all of them. Because everyone here is into health and exercise. Btw I don’t know where you live, but I live in Los Angela’s California by the beach and all I see is that every girl passing by my window is lot better looking and lot better body shape then any of the women in this video.
Brazil doesn’t need you to bulk their image. ✌️
@@dondoit3336 If you got to this video to write a paragraph all disgruntled about how Brazilians look at the beach is because you care. If you believe American people look better than Brazilians then that's your opinion, it's *not* a fact. Why you bother when others think Brazilians are beautiful?
I won't judge Americans just because most of them looked unattractive to me at the beach. That's childish and stupid!!

Então pq você perdeu seus amigos ,o Brasil tem que ter confinamento eterno? Se liga ja faz mais de 1 ano e prefeitos e governadores não conseguiram arrumar as unidades de saúde com todo o dinheiro enviado pelo governo federal?! Você fez alguma pesquisa pra saber se lockdown tem estudo cientifico? Ou evudnecias de enficiencia? A Europa teve o maior lockdown e não parou de morrer pessoas. O que os países da Asia inclusive a China estão usando hidro , invermec , azitromicina, e aqui na Australia tb, assim que o paciente tem o diagnostico ja inicia com esses medicações, mas no Brasil Alem dos politicos esquerdistas negaram a população ao acesso destas medicações a propria população resiste em tomar ou medico militantes se negam prescrever as medicações. Se for no SUS em Porto Alegre ex: os medicos não podem prescreverem essas medicações pq O psol e O PT fizeram uma lei proibindo da população recebar as mesmas, assim como em outras cidades pt e psol proibiram . Pesquisa ai.
Sempre tem uma azedo chorando em videos de turismo e lazer, da um tempo ,se manca.
