    Nice video. Get a pneumatic fluid evacuator, draw all the oil out of the pan from the fill tube, then remove the pan; if you want to cut down on the risk of a mess. This also works great for drain/fill flushes. There is probably half of your transmission fluid left in the torque converter. Draw the fluid from the pan and refill three or four separate times after separate drives, and the fluid will be exponentially more fresh.

      i never understood why dealerships just blow it out the bottom like it doesnt mess with gears. it doesnt even take that long to change it properly. shits a scam n should be illegal (now that dealerships are regulated lol)

    Save a lot of the mess by getting a long tube and putting it down the dipstick hole and suck it out with a pump, I got 4-1/2 quarts and it wasn't too bad of a cleanup.
    Aftermarket pans with drain plugs are under $50. Its well worth it if you plan to flush the transmission or if you plan on doing the job again sooner than the recommended cycle.

    Great video, just an FYI for everyone else the fluid extractor does not work for this application. When you run the extraction hose down the dipstick tube you can only pull out two quarts, I use a transfer pump. I then gently starts to pry the pan away with a large flathead screwdriver then send in the transfer pump hose to suck out the rest. I put in a Dorman pan with a drain plug, it’s about $60 depending on where you get it. I would also recommend picking up extra plug gaskets before installing the pan as it’s easier to bring to your local auto parts store to match up before it’s installed. Best of luck.

    Use an extractor in the dipstick tube to suck all the fluid from the pan. No mess.

    Changing the filters on Dodge transmissions is always a nightmare. I have a 65RFE; the 3/4 inch filter seal CANNOT be tapped in as you show. I should have just left it in but that ship's sailed. There is no burr; I went around the hole with 1000 grit sandpaper. Any suggestions? Can the seal only be bought or am I out another whole filter kit? ** Update: Yes seals can be bought but there is a two week delivery wait. I suggest anyone planning on doing a filter change order two or three spares. ** Another update - well, turns out there are multiple filters for the same truck, the one I have will not fit. What a nightmare!

    Hi thnxs for your videos and they are great but I have a 2003 Peugeot 206 and I wonder it really runs rugh and when it comes to heavy rains it really runs smoothly and i always wondered if it is cylinder head or the clutch or the sensors off but the problem is that the pedals shakes normally when I press the throttle and in heavy rains it really gets really smooth just as good as new could it be of missfire or coilovers? Or injectors? No error codes are seen . Can you plz hep me out with that,

    Are you a professional mechanic you always start a bolt by hand you don't force it in with an impact I imagine you do that with spark plugs to then the next person that gets the vehicle the plug is all stripped out

    • @2carpros
      @2carpros  4 месяца назад

      Sweet straw man. I've been doing this for 15 years, I know how to spin the bolt on slightly and how it should feel. If you are not confident in your ability in that skill feel free to do it by hand. Thanks for watching!

    if i got 100k miles on stock, whatever kinda Ram 6speed tranny fluid, should i just keep it in there and slowly change it out or all at once? ive heard it can slip with new fluid after x thousand miles overdue. Ram Rfe transmissions also arent notoriously reliable 😂
