  • Many filmmakers adore the Fresnel Lens for their video lights. Why? Some find it to be the best when it comes to getting intensity with awesome shadow roll-off. I try to show off the features of the fresnel with the newest ones from iFootage.

I really respect you being honest with your thoughts-it gives a weight to your positive reviews when so many people on RUclips only (and understandably) provide praise for products.

    Hello!
Thank you for your honest opinion.
In my opinion, this Fresnel does not have a very good price.
I have had the Aputure Fresnel 2X for two years, and the quality may be similar, but the package in which you can carry it is unmatched.
The Aputure has a padded bag, with a handle to carry it, and the cost is the same, since you can find the Aputure for $100.
    Thank you!

Hello! Sorry for unrelated comment, but will you review the newest godox modifier which is godox BLP?
If you ever review one, there are some concerns that i want to know
Is the godox BLP the same with Godox VSA in terms of specs, which the light going in the modifier will enhance the intensity of the light
Or maybe the godox BLP is the same spec with optical snoot, which will decrease the light intensity
If it's the same with godox VSA, maybe i will sell my godox VSA because of the size :D
Sorry for the long comment, i always come to this channel for various lighting gear review, and i really appreciate your way on reviewing gears, much respect!!

I have two of the original Arri 650w tungsten fresnel They are fantastic spotlights, but as a videographer still couldn't replace it with the LED, the CRI is still not 100% as the fresnel does.

Enjoyed the review! What is the lens diameter of the 'big' Bowens fresnel? Would be useful to know as with fresnels, bigger usually means better (all other things being equal). Also, what's the clearance like from the mount to the rear lens? I wish manufacturers would start including that measurement in product description - some lights have COB (or flash tubes!) protruding further from the mount and might not fit.

    As always an excellent video!
I wanted to take the opportunity to try to answer a question (because you are the person who knows the most about light that I know =)
I've had a Godox sl60w for about 2 or 3 years. It is like new, because it is well cared for and barely used. If I buy another sl60w of the same model today, do I run the risk of having a difference between the lights? I mean, could the old one have suffered some kind of wear or decalibration that leaves it with a slightly different light tone than a new one?
I intend to use both together, but if there is a difference I will have to buy 2 new ones.
    Thank you and congratulations.
Greetings from Brazil (Rio de Janeiro)

The Nanlite Forza 60, 60C, 150 and the FS-60b use a mini bowens mount!!! Since the Ifootage fresnel is bigger than the one I have from Nanlite I am curious if these are compatible!
There are some by Neewer (MS60 and 60C) that seem to use the mini Bowens mount, though I dunno if it is compatible with Nanlites or Ifootage Mini Bowens mount, I don't have any to corroborate :(.
And there were some entry level lights from Weeylite too that use also the Mini bowens mount too (these even came with the same kind of mini bowens to bowens adapter that Nanlite lights use)!😄

The regular fresnel really looks like their fresnel is an EXACT copy of the Aputure 2x fresnel… Wonder if that barn door and grid fits the Aputure one..?

I've been considering getting a fresnel lens for the times I need more light than I have (out of one fixture), but your light meter reading shows less light with the fresnel than without it. Was there an error in posting the test results?

    • @FellowFilmmaker
      @FellowFilmmaker  6 месяцев назад

No error, its lower when on flood. If you have it more narrow beamed it's brighter.
