I can't imagine it is possible to make a good living making only a few flipflops a day when there are factories making thousands a day. something that is important at 5:24 you can see she rotates the bottom strap rivets, this is good. the bottom of the strap the two rivets that are not the toe rivets must be rotated. This makes sure that the that the strap is long enough so that the toe pin does not come out, as a twisted strap is shorter then a flat one. you can check if the strap is long enough by seeing if the strap causes the flip flop rubber to curve. a short strap is dangerous to the end user, when the end user places weight from walking on the rubber they make it straight with a twisted short strap the toe rivet come out as they are walking. something else important at 3:34 you can see these flip flops have deep tread and thick soul this helps prevent suction on wet tile floor holding down the flip flop. when the end user walks they press down on the rubber making strong suction that holds the flip flop to the floor even when their foot comes up to walk but by extending the cross marks to the end it allows air to enter preventing unplanned suction. The thick soul of this flip flop ensures the rubber is ridged enough to resist small suction events.
imagine how many trillions of these made, I had to get more than 30 years ago for sea job, we called them "shower shoes" as that's only where used, but these are way better quality, larger and thicker everything plus natural rubber instead of flexible plastic.
In my country Malaysia, we call these flip flops SELIPAR JEPUN - which means Japanese slipper. Not sure why though 😅 I love them because they are relatively cheap, lightweight and could easily combat food odour 🔥

have you considered making flip flops for the big and tall market. not sure if you ship to the US but I have frequently seen many large woman at the beach with men's flip flops that their feet over hang on to the hot sand burning them. plus sized men only use their large sneakers or go bare foot.
