I don't know jack about basketball, but from what little I've seen on RUclips of the Fever during this season informs me that Clark's "improvement" during the season (her stats were better after the Olympic break than before) was not so much HER improvement as it was the improvement of her teammates learning how to play with Clark on the court. Clark entered the league as a once in a lifetime player whose skill set far exceeded the rest of the players. Her passing was so far superior to what is typical in the league, the other players had to improve just to keep up with her. As for Van Pelt, I don't watch him, but he looked like a complete doofus clapping and laughing along with Taurasi during her "reality" comment. Way to recover, Van Pelt.

I agree! The team had the talent but needed a missing an ingredient CC. Now the team has synergy, genuine bond, understanding of one another adapted on / off the court, and overcame fractured division. They were cooking! They are going to better and better, a force to recon.
