This song seems to put you on a different level, on a distant beach, after a gorgeous storm, while the sun is breaking the sky and you realise something is getting fixed again some time after.....
I just bought their first 2 CDs about 2 weeks ago and have been playing them non-stop. I can't believe it took me 25 years to discover them, and only by accident when I was looking up the Comsat Angels. Their sound is timeless and better than most of the shiyt being played today.
Comsats were another band who never quite got the acknowledgement....much like Chameleons unfortunately. However, both bands music DOES exist, and those of us who have 'discovered' it in later years are very happy about that.
16 Years Later, hope you enjoyed the journey. .....Allow me to recommend the uploads of The John Peel Show from that era. Magic. Hope you also discovered The Fall and Alternative TV
I'm still here I still looking at that view from a hill .my sister thankyou 6yrs bk dedicated a view from a hill .mark Annemarie Collins on did end up where she wanted to be .on Blencathra Cumbria she sure has now a view from a hill xxxxxxx
Gwenaelle notamment. Thanks to the Chameleons Many thanks
i rember when i saw then and they came to usa for the frist time. they said sorry but we are verys nervous. they were so humble yet sdo good.. i love them
@TheChameleons73 I went, it was typical rainy Manchester day. It is nice up there with the war memorial though, can see why it meant so much to the band.
You can really hear Marks bass on this, stands out a mile. I'm learning the bass & I've been learning quite a few Chameleons tunes so for me this is actually really helpful.
@TheChameleons73 It is, but it certainly didn't feel that way when we did our cross country runs up there in the pissing down rain from nearby Cardinal Langley.
interpol, editors, the national and many bands more take the sound of the chameleons

The sounds and the voice is so touching, every time I hear this and other Chams songs, I could cry. The music is going right into my soul.
Agree.... hope you're still listening 11 years later

Both bands did indeed get The Acknowledgement. If they didn't, folks wouldn't be posting videos.

... in 1984 I made an interview with these great boys ... best band of the 80ies!! well I allways wanted to play like them ...
makes me happy and sad. I never knew of this band til the late 90s and nver saw them perform til now. Class!
What a great video. A live performance in a small space with good sound and editing. DVD worthy. Thanx Chameleons for sharing your genius.
couldn't agree more. I discovered them a month ago and have listened to the first 2 CDs in my car every day since. Need to buy the next one as well.

🖤🖤🖤
Absolute GENIUS!!
The Chameleons, follow all links for one of the best bands in the last 30 years
I feel the same way as Tilo Prager Mark Burgess must really be a beautiful soul
Well said.
You can really hear Marks bass on this, stands out a mile.
I'm learning the bass & I've been learning quite a few Chameleons tunes so for me this is actually really helpful.
tief und wunderschön..
Love this song...
those guys set the standards of this kind of guitarsound! After that many copied til today.
Also the style of the singer.
Gänsehautmusik.
CRYING
you can really hear the bass !!!!
excelente!!! : D
fantastic!! Mark.. "high".. !? :)
Only 240p.
it is!! :)
@TheChameleons73 It is, but it certainly didn't feel that way when we did our cross country runs up there in the pissing down rain from nearby Cardinal Langley.
Mark Burgess...
So cool :-)
excelent
is Mark still alive? ... what a genius!
Indeed. Mark, Reg and Dave still alive. Unfortunately John Lever (drummer) died in 2017.
Guy yelling in the beginning here, still goes to pubs & clubs just to yell.
Well i found this in the emule p2p network....the whole show is 53 mins long...
Bloc Party took some notes from this here song.
WTF?? Steve Lilywhite is a fantastic producer! He was also responsible for U2's Boy LP, which has a lot of similar style.
I has to be sort of magic place!
oh he lives in Germany ... didn't know (do you know where?). Thx for the information!
Where was this performed at?
Manchester Gallery Club 1982. Available for audio. It's on Spotify
Das ist richtig! The chameleons sind keine banale, überflüssige, durchschnittlich langweilige Band.Musik für auserwählte Leute.
why are they so little known? it's F$%^& unfair! if they only play some gig... even if it was on the Moon...
one of their best songs
thanks Mark Burgess and band!!
f-off to Interpol for trying to rip off their guitar sound
Hard to believe Interpol have been going since the 80's. Prefer the original singer though.
Dr. Zoidberg lol
