Yes please now this is a hot wee hatchback I would love to own, drove one years ago and I was very impressed how it stuck to the road, always felt planted to the road, loving the content even with current circumstances, keep safe guys
I've still got an R reg dturbo, owned it for 18 years and still use it daily. The corrosion protection is excellent, mine still has not had any welding, but it is a myth that they are galvanised, they are not.
That's worth just having a play around with Rob. I do the same thing, albeit on a much smaller scale, with old Suffolk lawnmowers!! If I can get them going, happy days..... If I can do more than that, so much the better. The old 306 wasn't a half bad little motor. Nice little find !!!
Would love to see this on the road again! the way things are going and how people scrap them like nothing these sorts of cars will start to get rarer in the next 10 years or so.
I’d love to see this rebuilt, I had one with the exact number plate except it was an R on the end instead on an X. Random! Absolutely awesome little cars these, the chassis is unreal.
Although never totally up to date “how many left” shows 14 on the road and 121 on SORN. Is it worth it? Hell yes. With a good clean up, engine running 🤞 and the correct wheels it is absolutely worth it. 💪
You have to do this!! I have always wanted one of these, for me definitely a bucket list car. Other people might not agree but this is a proper driver's car. If i was close then I'd want to help you with it.
Awesome cars, people love these as they are rare now. Someone would snap this up if you tidy it up and get it back on the road! Look forward to videos on this
Such a shame about the door! I’ve got great memories of these so I’d love to see you guys return it to a drivable condition. It’s a rare car now, and for free, come on... Do it!
Please do this car! I loved those cars when they came out. A guy in my town modified one to a really high standard and it looked and went amazing. Very cool looking and pretty quick. Would love to see you bring this back to life.
You'd rather of had a 306 gti than the escourt gti or ford rs 2000 a French car that's renound for breaking down each to his own of course but most Ford's of that era would of kicked ass I'm a ford fan sorry
@@andrewmoffatt7046 No need to apologise for being a fan of something, if you like it then that's what counts, we all have different tastes. Me, I didn't like any escort after the mark 4 but always liked the style of the Peugeot 306.
@@andrewmoffatt7046 we may have electrical issues now and then in the Peugeot but we don't have to weld up every trip and the rs2000 of the day is a 150bhp car there's no way it would beat the 306 for handling and speed. I'm not being rude just not a fan of all these over priced fords
Andrew moffatt Those fwd Fords were not their best effort by any stretch. I think it’s a shame they stuck an RS badge on that one. Anything with a red top Vauxhall would be better, and that’s coming from a Mk2 owner. I’m a big fan of Peugeot Gtis so would love to see this run again.
Please please please get it back on the road guys! One of my favorite vehicles of all time! I’m so glad it’s in your hands! I did have two of the D-Turbo models of these back in my hay day!
Would defo love to see some more on this, used to own a 106gti about 15 years ago so love old pugs. Prob best pound for pound car I’ve owned in all honesty absolute rocket and handled amazing
Deffo get the 306 GTI 6 back up and running.Even rarer to see them on the road than the legendary 205 GTI, so will deffo attract attention to the people in the know.No doubt it still has a following.
I still have a couple of old Maglites, they were superior in their day - twenty years ago! The LED upgrade is pathetic when compared to my favourite 'Led-Lenser' offerings. Aluminium body, click on/off switch, slide the lens housing between spot focus and 'moonlight', near white even illumination. Also, the superior electronics produce maximum life from your batteries; take the 'flat' batteries out of your Maglite and they will produce many hours of full brilliance in an LED-Lenser! There are many other better, but more expensive, torches and head-torches but Maglite has lost their #1 place in the market, possibly due to the extreme cost of manufacturing them in the US or complacency? The best torches (US name 'flash light' = only good for a few seconds) use 'Cree' LEDs; these are a small, yellow squares that produces excellent 'white light' with the correct reflector and lense.
It would be great to see more content on this Peugeot, it looks to be a fairly solid rust free example, a will it run video would be amazing, with regard to your question of whether we would be interested to see more of this car, it’s a definite yes please from me!!😂.
You have to make it run! You'd be surprised how often people have cars in the garden garage barns etc. The inspiration to save them from the scrap pile is in your hands and by saving this little 306 you'll inspire many more saving from the scrap projects. Great videos guys. I'm no mechanic myself but I admire the way you go about your projects and maybe some amateur mechanics will step up as a result of watching you guys at work all the best Sean
I've watched out of order, but the little Peugeot deserves it's second chance at life. Crack on, you will do your usual bang on work, and rescue a rare car to boot.
Yes Rob would love to see this running! I had the diesel version back in it’s day we’re great cars and always wanted a GTI 6 think they were nearly £20k new
this needs to be restored. They were iconic in the late 90s. I reckon its worth money bringing it back. See how many are left on the road. This car is highly sought after.
I had one of these new in ‘97. R366WOO. ABSOLUTELY THE BEST HANDLING HATCH OF ITS DAY. Get it repaired and running right you won’t believe how well it goes. The wheels are wrong but it’s got the optional extra interior and roof. 167bhp and good for not far away from 140mph. Superb little cars.
These were raved about by the motoring press back in the day, i'd love to see it back on the road and I'm sure the parts required are sitting on peoples/subscribers garages. I think I'd be looking for a full secondhand lockset rather than bending over for Peugeot to rinse you for a key, immobiliser should be easy to bypass given it's age too. I'll have a look at a few of my local yards for a window glass and panels
It's definitely worth doing. You'll find that parts for it are ridiculously easy and cheap to get, and you will love working on it because everything is so easy and space is so good. Can't wait to see it!
When you're using the snatch block to redirect the car, you need to lock the brakes so the wheels skid,. It will pull really easy then even at a slight angle.. If they're left to rotate you have to create a really sharp angle so just put your foot on the brake and she'll just slide. Great video as usual!!
Get it straight, get it tidy and running and you'll sell it for a decent amount. French hot hatches are always popular (if they've not been destroyed with MAXPOWER bodykits and giant speakers 😂)
I echo everyone's comments and would love to see the 306 gti running again , The pug gti 's have a cult following especially 205 gti's, and back in the day my mates dad had a 309 gti cool or what👍
I had a Winchester grey 3 door 309 GTi , brilliant car , more comfortable than the 205 GTi and better handing and then subsequently had a 306 GTi6 , The later car was the better one but it was a close run thing.
I'd one back in the day as a company car ... I usually got the diesel version so this was like a rocket ship. Quite a rare one so if it's solid it would be worth a go!
I've had Peugeot all my life had them all in the 90,s there's a button under the indicator stalk, when you hot wire them, on diesels anyways never owned the petrol ones I reckon it'll be the same if its factory immobilizer, it was join the 2 yellows and the red wire the dash will light up then when the heater plug light went off you touched the orange wire to the other joined 3 wires and took it off when started, but before joining the wires(or turning the key) you kept the button in for 5 or ten second and it knocked the alarm/I mobilizer off, and a big wrench over the barrell and push it down to the floor and it bends out and the ignition barrell it comes out of the slot in the steering column so you can turn the wheel(then it can be bent back up when a new barrels in) hope this helps might save you money m8
Yes!!!! Love the GTI 6. Always wanted one back in my younger days, had a drive of one once and loved it. Definitely make fantastic content to see you guys bring it back to life.
A pretty iconic hot hatch, the successor to the 205 gti and must be rare these days, well worth restoring. Will be really interesting to see it come back to life.
Hi Rob these 306/6 were the hot hatch to have back in the day guessing most of your subscribers are all around our age and remember these , recovering it the way you did was the correct way to do it but using a snatch block on your loops instead of a strap, saves the strap and better for your cable, always worth keeping one in your truck keep up the vids Ian...
Yes rob definitely worth some time spending on would love to see you fix it up, also makes fantastic content for the channel, even if you got it started a few videos would suffice, also any new videos/news of the Peugeot micro camper van hope you and Chris are well also
I’d happily watch this series. This is kind of thing that I started watching for.
Definitely try and get it running and spend as little as possible to do it. Recommission on a budget 👍🏻
Totally agree with Luke, get her running and see out there who wants it ,few quid for the shop rob
You definitely need too see her running..wash over. New glass.a rare car now..do it proud...

I would definitely watch this 1 being sorted out watching each stage done 👍
Got to go for it Rob, even if it's just to get it running and tidied up.
A GTi PUG !! Great..looking forward to lots of vids on this!
Love the 306, had an "R" reg myself about 10 years ago. Never rot, everything is galvanised IIRC.
Never seen any really rusty 306/205’s to be honest seem well sorted in that respect...

Timing belt will need done were notorious for snapping before the recommended interval. Really good cars when looked after 167bhp.
Also bottom timing belt pulley will spin as it has a rubber center and they separate. knocking the timing out.

Don't start it. The timing belt will snap if it hasn't already.
That's good advice, look before you leap like he did with the motor home, last thing needed is another mishap.
If not the timing belt then the tensioner or water pump is probably seized and will cause the belt to snap!
