Some of us old timers on here might remember the really old Crowns with the Hall Scott engines in them. Now those were the days. But, I still prefer the one Cummins powered bus we had. Man, was that thing powerful.
I remember these back when I was in school. Turlock California. But all of our twinkies were automatic. We had one that was a 5 speed stick but it had the Cummings engine in it. All of our automatic busses had the 2 stroke Detroit Diesel engines in them.
it's really, like a 5 speed only you have another set of 5 on top of that. At least that's the majority of the 10 speeds. I know there's some out there where you've got 6 on the bottom and 4 over. They're not really difficult to operate, you just need to pay attention to your rpms and try not to loose any of the gears. Not the literal term they are gone, but it's the timing of shifting and not missing the gear really.
I don't know if they can. It's got the dreaded Detroit 2 stroke engine which is supposed to be off the road by Jan 1, 2017 per California Air Resource Board
when he means dreaded, he means a bad envirmental due to the black smoke. but nothing is wrong with a good quality crown with a detroit diesel, legends never die, RIP harambee
Fantastic! That bus could have been transporting wine glasses filled to brim & she would not have spilled a drop. ❤

wow very cool
@@crownking3752 Sean currently newer western star trucks have older Detroit diesel engines
Our school district got rid of all the old school buses and replaced with newer ones
Yeah, that was a useless comment I put back then.
It be more interesting to see her floating gears, then you know, she's a pro.
haha that would be cool and she is a pro
Yeah, a pro at clutching. I at least can float a 10 speed with no issues. To bad it's not taught much anymore though.
i know how is the gear set up for the 10 speeds i know the 5 speed but not the 10 speeds

Do Another video of Twinkie crowns
She drives that bus like a pro. Do you know if that bus is one of the ones being replaced this year?
I think they are keeping it since it is the only one left the twinkie style

They have to keep it under 1,000 miles per year so they don;t drive it often
What do you mean by DREADED 2 stroke diesel? There was nothing wrong about the 6N-71 freighttraining that fine bus! :O
