- Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson is officially back. After clearing all the medical hurdles and rehab following season-ending shoulder surgery last year, Watson is participating in a full padded practice on Monday.
Watsons threw for three consecutive days before the team had off Sunday. The Browns return to the field on Monday in full pads, and Watson will be participating with one caveat. He will have no contact.
Suspension and injuries have limited Watson, a three-time Pro Bowl selection with the Houston Texans, to just 12 games since the Browns traded six draft picks for him and gave him a fully guaranteed $230 million deal in March 2022. Watson's 41.9 QBR since making his debut in Cleveland is the sixth lowest in the NFL during that time frame.
This offseason, Watson rehabbed the season-ending surgery to his throwing shoulder he underwent in November. On Friday, he participated in 11-on-11 drills for the first time since the surgery.
When asked what his motivation is for the 2024 season, Watson said, "Just being the best Deshaun Watson can be for this team, so we can get that ultimate goal and maximizing our potential and our talent."

It's only training camp but to hear he's doing well so far, it's good to know. I never need any convincing because I trust him and always will. He's our QB, why wouldn't I? It's everyone else that has a problem over things that really do not fucking matter

Y’all act like the Baltimore game was the only good thing. He played much better than burrow in week 1. He beat Tennessee and Arizona. That’s 4 solid games after coming off not playing many games.

Hey goof that why I said per game stats, ur right he barely plays.. but when he does he is statistically one of the worst 8 qbs in the nfl. Ranks 24th or lower in all per game stats. Bum needs to step it up. Period

Good to hear. That being said absolutely not changing anything. DTR was the next Tom Brady at the end of preseason last year. Remember that. Watson will be judged by the 17 games that happen this year.
No it can’t. My perception of him is, let’s wait and see. Nothing he does in practice will make me think he is either a good quarterback or a bad quarterback. As the prophet Allen Iverson said, “ We’re talkin about practice. Not the game. Practice.”
How could he convince anyone he is going to play better in practice or training camp or a press conference. He has played terrible when healthy the last 2 seasons. He needs to prove that he can play better when September comes in the regular season and the playoffs if he ever takes us there. Him only completing 59% of his throws over the last 2 years and ranking 38th in qbr, and 53rd in pff grade over that time does not help his case.

Last year was deshauns "best" year in cleveland.. he ranked 29th in completion percentage, 29th in yards per game, he ranked 24th in passer rating, he ranked 25th in qbr, 27th in pff grade. He only threw 7 tds and had 6 turnovers. What about his game is not terrible George? What has deshaun done as a individual that is better than terrible? I just laid out some facts for you.

So are we saying this is the first training camp out of 3 that he looks good? So we were led astray the last 2 years? A few months ago some in the media were making a big deal of him really doing good with mental reps. Really? Now everyone continues to talk about ONE HALF of football. This is a joke. He has a lot to prove and he is not the one to do it. HE created the problem with his sexual problem. The media has continued the problem with high expectations that DW hasn't fulfilled yet. Time is running out. It will run out this year.
Watson won't change browns status. We will see a repeated episode of usual browns.
