Plot
An old park in front of the castle of the Polish tycoon. There is a ball in the castle. Maria runs out of the castle, followed by Wenceslas.
A lyrical scene full of youth and tender slyness. Polish soldiers suddenly appear. They brought a captive Tatar. The proximity of the Tatar horde is not reflected in the cheerful mood of the guests filling the hall and the park. The Polonaise is thundering. The head of the guard runs in with alarming news: the Tatars are coming! Men draw their weapons. A Tatar detachment rushes in.
Maria flees from the blazing castle, with her guarding Wenceslas. Girey rises in front of them. Struck by the beauty of Mary, he freezes for a moment, then rushes to her. Vaclav blocks his path. With a dagger blow, Girey kills Wenceslas.
Giray's harem. His wives are frolicking, dancing. Among them is Zarema, Giray's beloved wife. Approaching warlike sounds are heard. It was the Khan's army that returned from the campaign. Zarema is the first to rush to Giray. But he doesn't notice her. His gaze is fixed on Mary. Zarema tries in vain to attract the attention of his master with a fiery dance. Giray doesn't look at her. In despair, Zarema loses consciousness.
Maria's room. Girey enters. Over and over again he tells her of his love. There is nothing left of the wild leader of the warlike hordes. He looks submissively and softly at Maria. But Maria does not love and will not fall in love with Girey.
Giray leaves. Maria takes the harp and, gently touching its strings, plays a simple song of her homeland. She remembers her father's house.
Night. Maria can't sleep. The maid lies down at the door. Zarema, flexible as a snake, slips through the door. Maria looks in horror at Zarema, who begs to return Girey to her.
Sincerely and simply, Maria tells Zarema that she will never fall in love with Girey. Conquered by Maria's truthfulness, Zarema calms down. Suddenly her gaze falls on the skullcap forgotten by Giray. The flame of jealousy flares up in her again. The awakened servant, sensing unkindness, calls for help.
Girey rushes in quickly. He grabs Zarema, but she manages to slip out of his hands. Leap, and Zarema's dagger hits Maria. Mary is dying. Zarema begs Girey to kill her. With a movement of his hand, Girey tells the guards to take her.
The inner courtyard of the Bakhchisarai Palace. Girey sits immersed in his thoughts. The image of Mary persistently lives in his soul.
The military leader Nurali, who has returned from the campaign, leads the new captives in front of Giray. A warlike dance of the Tatars, full of fire, appears. Giray is indifferent.
The guards throws Zarema off a high cliff into the abyss. But even this does not satisfy Giray's mental anguish. Having sent everyone away, he remains alone. At his sign, the "fountain of tears" erected in memory of Mary is activated.

Я смотрела этот фильм с родителями в 53 году.Память 4-х летней девочки сохранила на всю жизнь образы героев этого фильма. Прошло много лет и я снова смотрю этот фильм!
