This is the cemetary my Beautiful Mother choose for us. She was the first to go to Heaven, followed by my precious son, my grandmother, my father, my Aunt, my only brother and then my life long love, my husband. I shall join them someday there and also in Heaven. I have visited the cemetary on so many occasions and have viewed a lot of the stars graves...Thank you for your time to make this video and sharing it with us. May God bless you...

Everytime I see ,hear or think about Keith Whittley I just shake my head and think what would of been if he would of lived . So much wasted it kinda hurts eventhough I never knew him .
Hank Snow performed outdoors in my local community in the early 1980s. I could hear him quite well from a few hundreds yards away. Snow was from Liverpool, Nova Scotia. I believe there's a small museum there with some of his memorabilia. Another well known country music singer, Carroll Baker, grew up about 10 miles from Liverpool in a small community named Port Medway. Just as another tidbit of information, with the name of the cemetery in mind, Ann Murray was from Spring Hill, Nova Scotia.
Enjoyed looking at this very much, I knew several of them, Roy Acuff, Keith Whitley, John Hartford, Jimmy Martin just to name a few. My Mama and Daddy, Hubert and Rubye Davis are buried there. We played Bluegrass music and they were the owners of the Bluegrass Inn in Nashville. It was Hubert Davis and the Season Travelers. I would have enjoyed seeing them on here as well. I played the Ernest Tubb record shop with Roy Acuff on a Saturday night. Again enjoyed it very much.
Dean Manuel is also buried there. He was the manager and piano player for Jim Reeves & both died on July 31, 1964 in a plane crash. Dean was my dad's first cousin.
Charlene McLeese and a hard stone to find as well.
One of my favorite "lesser known" singers was the talented Penny DeHaven

Rip Keith Whitley gone but not forgotten
An interesting fact about Roy Acuff.
Mr. Acuff didn't have an actual funeral.
He died November 23, 1992 and it was in the early hours of the morning.
By noon he was buried.
The only people who was at the burial was close family and his band members.
U went slow enough so we could read every epitaph, Thank you for that. i was able to see the love and the beautiful words written by each loved one. and the artwork of the gravestones

John Hartford was a friend of my parents. He was a sweet wonderful man.
Just across Gallatin Road is the National Cemetary. Teddy and Doyle Wilburn are buried there. They share the same headstone.

Lots of famous people buried in Nashville the home of the stars. I have to get here soon.
My family is buried in the area. Go all the way back to the 1800s. Great place. Country Stars found it, didn't they? Teagards...
I live in Madison and didn't know they were buried there. Cool little tour. I delivered flowers to Mr. Acuffs daughter when he died and Mrs. Kramer flowers when Floyd died ironically enough. You could see Roy and Grandpa Jones at Mallards back in the day. And Hank Snow was the coolest guy you ever met. Madison used to be quite the hub for country stars back in the old days. Then Hendersonville became the place in the 70's and 80's and then of course Franklin is now.
My son lives in Hendersonville, planning to move back here to Minnesota!!! :)

I love this cemetery. so peaceful and serene, even though it lays beside Gallatin Rd. I have a friend buried right by John Hartford's grave and gazebo.
I was going to put a general post out but maybe you would know. What happened to John Hartfords wife. She passed right after he did.
wow, didnt realize that spring hill had any famous people buried there. When you think of spring hill you think of a small itty bitty town. Its growing alot.
I was there about 2 weeks ago and spent 2 1/2 hrs trying to find kitty wells and dean Manuel’s graves. Never found them. Used a map but still no luck.
God bless you for honoring their memories. Dean and Kitty both were incredible artists who are greatly missed. Dean is my favorite piano player of all time. I hope you are able to locate their graves. Try findagrave.com and see if that helps.

Jimmy Gilstrap - your video is a very nice tribute. I recall that Billy Walker, his wife and traveling party were killed when his vehicle went off the roadway while returning home to Nashville from a show date in Alabama. I never heard the COD. I don't know if he suffered a heart attack while driving or if he fell asleep behind the wheel. A great tragedy nonetheless.

Did you notice Billy Walker and his wife died the same day. It was in a car accident going to or coming from the concert.
Near Montgomery Alabama, they were northbouund on i65 headed for Nashville

Something I've always kind of wondered: I know that Lorrie Morgan was married to Keith Whitley at the time of his unfortunate passing, but I wonder if she will still be buried beside him when the Lord calls her home.
Obviously, they'd planned on spending eternity together, and the place waits for her, her name already etched into the marble. I just wonder if that is where she will rest. Just a morbid curiosity.

George Jones is not buried in Springhill cemetery he is buried in Woodlawn memorial park in Nashville.

Sad how old and faded the flowers are. Wish they could be nicely kept and bright.
Peggy Hill The flowers usually are done by the family. That's why a lot of the graves go undecorated when family members move or die.

I wander on the graves where you have the large monument and then the smaller stones with the names and dates, like with hank snow. is the big marker at the head or feet? with the smaller one at the other end or does the big marker simply mark a family area, and the smaller stones are the head stones?
the larger stones can be for a whole family or just one person........and then the small ones can be for a certain person from the family and are typically put at their "feet"
HEAD stones........Big stones are family plot markers...........generally

On May 21, 2006, Walker died in a car accident when the van he was driving back to Nashville after a performance in Foley, Alabama veered off Interstate 65 in Fort Deposit and overturned. His wife Bettie; bassist Charles Lilly Jr., son of Everett Lilly of The Lilly Brothers; and guitarist Daniel Patton were also killed in the 12:40 a.m. CT crash. The Walkers, Lilly, and Patton died instantly. Walker's grandson, Joshua Brooks, survived with serious injuries

It has been rumored that Keith Whitley wast actually born in 1954. Not sure if that is true or not.
The death dates of Billy Walker and his wife are the same. They were killed in a tragic car accident.
They were returning from a concert when their van over turned and all passengers died.

@@partslig123 Floyd Kramer plays a smooth piano. He had a big hit on the rock charts "Last Kiss" probabky around 1959. If you're ever bored, try it out. He would slide into notes rather than hit them directly. It was a cross over hit since he was considered country. Definitely right about the wild type of music. I can't remember what you put and I can't currently see it on my phone

Watch the move ELVIS starring Tom Hanks as Col.Tom Parker.The Col. threw ole Hank to the goodbye road.Very sad,but ole Hank bounced back on the Opry stage until he died.My late father loved Hank Snow.

They have maps at the main office.Keith's grave is near the road as I recall.His father-n-law, George Morgan just a few feet below Keith's grave.

If things had been different for him in his life, they'd still be married to this day ( jmo ) And that this is why none of her other marriages ever really worked out for her....bless her heart... it's really very sad all the way around!!

I have actually been to Spring Hill Cemetery and seen this and much more! Sorry, but I think that there was so much more to see than these few graves. Also the music was not what it should have been for this type of tribute.
