The reason why BF accepted spare it because he had no other option what left to do Because he has to echo something in order for it to work, so in the last momentents, the echo he had couldn't swing the knife at her SINCE she unequipped it, leading bf no choice but to copy the spare option.

@gulsum6084 it does copy their power but as we saw with Matt, It's not instant. A example is if goku went ssj and bf echoed, Then goku went blue he would one tap bf still even if he echoed. Since there be no time to adjust.
