i watched the movie (spring, summer, fall, winter and spring) just now and i´m really impressed how such a silent movie can have such a strength... it tells you so much about life i´m lovin´ it and this song is just amazing, it fits this movie so much thanks for uploading
Should I ever come to cease to enjoy to this song, I'll know I no longer enjoy music. Almost every emotion is in this piece and the singer's voice is superb. Here's another wonderful reason to learn Korean.
i don't understand one word she is saying, but this song moves me to tears every single time i listen to it. to say it's wonderful would be an understatement.
What you described is very correct... Actually the sound of a wood block in this song is one that Korean buddhist monks do in temple, and this song (lyrics) is about a woman's climbing mountains looking for buddhist temples for an earnest wish of her..
I thought the scene of the stone tied to his stomach was brilliant. Not only was it an allegory of the stones that he put on those animals when he was a kid, but I think the overall picture was to show that it was the burden he had been carrying with him his whole life (especially the burden of the murder of his wife). Once he made it to the top of the mountain, he was finally a free man.
what to say...i m tamilian...dont know any thing abt korea... but this song mesmerises like anything..the song stirs our souls as if like questions at the bed time abt of our life?
Mind blowing, as is indeed the film, "Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring", in which it features. Once heard (and seen), never forgotten. The song gets right under your skin. I like the uncompromising "projection" of the singer's voice, which takes on an extra meaning in the film. Thanks for uploading this, johnxxx20000.
im Sri Lankan,i think i have some part which is korean..because this song just made me think a whole lot about life.. yes i heard it in the movie "Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring" Still sends shivers down my spine.. must be the20th time im listening without knowing the lyrics..
Sisyphus is punished in the underworld by the god Zeus, who forces him to roll a boulder up a hill for eternity, just as in this Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter, Spring movie ... one world, just a bit different ... this voice here is just out of this world, so real, so full of pain and power
I don't know if there is a soundtrack for it, but try to find a soundtrack for the movie "Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring", I hope you find it :)
Beautiful song. Will look for it on CD. The movie "Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring" is worth a watch. But with the animal cruelty depicted probably won't watch again. :-( .
Arirang is the most famous song of Korea, although this version is very different (and the best in my opinion). There is a "pretty" orchestral version by So Hyang but I don't like it. I don't speak Korean. Wikipedia states: "There are about 3,600 variations of 60 different versions of the song, all of which include a refrain similar to, "Arirang, arirang, arariyo (아리랑, 아리랑, 아라리요)" It is estimated the song is more than 600 years old." Arirang, Arirang, Arariyo...You are going over Arirang hill. My love, you are leaving me Your feet will be sore before you go ten. Just as there are many stars in the clear sky, There are also many dreams in our heart. There, over there, that mountain is Baekdu Mountain, Where, even in the middle of winter days, flowers bloom.

I love this song and the spring, summer, autumn winter and spring film. My favorite scene was during this song.
absolutely agree with you... :)
Yes. It ripped the heart out of my chest. It immediately makes me want to have a drink, a cry and yell. Pure emotion.

Haunting, beautiful, powerful. At 5:40, the string are intimidating, then her voice breaks through. Like a knife. Masterful performance.

나는 스웨덴에서 온다 그리고 이것 이다 가장 아름다운목소리. 김영임 그녀는 가장 강력한 목소리를 가지고
아름다운하고 강력한 한국 인사

It's called a "moktak" in Hanguel-mal (Korean language).
