Consider the modern classic Navy Arms Co. Model 100 double-barrel "percussion"
muzzle loading shotgun. This was introduced sometime during the early 1970's.
Today's version by Davide Pedersoli is basically the same shotgun. Though I certainly wouldn't shoot an antique, I wouldn't hesitate to do so with the former. The replica/ reproductions are fabricated of high strength steels, the barrels are chrome lined and choked improved cylinder/modified, and are produced by modern high tech
manufacturing. Most are produced in Italy. The 1966 Episode of Big Valley (T.V.
Western) depicts Actor James Whitmore with a 10 or 12 gauge muzzle loading
double-barrel shotgun. The episode is titled: "The Death Merchant." Also, the 2003
Civil War (1861-1865) movie "Cold Mountain" depicts two single women living alone
on an isolated farm inside farm house in North Carolina. Their main firearm: a percussion double-barrel muzzle loading shotgun. For more on the classic shotgun I recommend three online You Tube videos:
