what i like about those new scarabs is that it makes us want to use them all and interact with more league mechanics. this is much better then what we had before where we chose 1 mechanic for a few chaos

and also maybe the ones from memories, that are rather unique, like solaris and lunaris
@@RaduStancu that would be actually interesting too, because having those shrines just in memories is kinda unrewarding and boring.
ultimatum sounds like the easiest way to get t0 uniques depending on how rare that scarab that "inscribed ultimatum converted from catalyst" is especially if you can get "maps grant rewards as if you completed 5 additional rounds" from the tree+2 bribing scarabs on top of the notable that says 50% increased chance for unique inscribed ultimatums and having the keystone that lets you get 3 more rounds.
Very excited to lose 10+ div each attempt because I died on round 12/13 :)
9:25 you can use abyssal socket weapons for energy blade builds. Basically free there at least.

Disappointed it's not BroSF so we can have debate club over who gets to use the juicy scarab drop on a reflect map.

Scarab 1: "influenced monster packs have 40% increased pack size"
Scarab 2: "40% increased Magic Pack size"
Scarab 3: "All monster packs in area are at least Magic"
Scarab 4: "Players in area gain IIR and IIQ for each monster slain recently up to 200%/100%"
Beyond on 8 mod map, beyond on map device, 100% beyond on atlas with blocked boss spawn.
Altars, 40% influenced pack size with new small passives, 100% einhar, 100% deli mirror, top hat with new map mod effect clusters, quant/rarity wheels
Just barely fits within the 132 points
Looking at around about 100% pack size for the map with about 180% pack size for influence mobs. No normal mobs, lots of altars, deli, along with triple beyond and beast packs that give extra bonuses with new passives. Also have Necropolis on maps which can benefit from the "haunted pack leaders in your maps have 50% increased chance to be rare." and whatever ember monster rerolls we get with it.
Possibly super dense and looty.
""The "Slaying Enemies close together can attract monsters from Beyond this Realm" and "Area is inhabited by 2 additional Rogue Exiles" Map modifiers can no longer roll." in the patch notes, so no beyond mod on the map
5:30 favors refer to the ammount of items shown i believe so maybe we get 2 pages now??
14:40 maybe is for synergy with cursed treasures. As cursed treasures consumes time and killing magic mob gives more time - you can get all rewards from treasures and depending on what is in those treasures, it may be a nice money making strategy while you are doing Alva.

For the "Tormented Scarab of Pecularity", maybe the removed Rare monster rewards have been moved to those (maybe new) tormented spirits?
(drops only items of the same type, drops only white socketed items etc.)
i think that is a huge change, but in the end, they remove the wisps thing and transform how you juice maps in a "core" way of play the game, the league mechanic is about a new harvest league, but now you colect and harvest bodies.
There are gonna be some absolutely cracked scarab/strategy combinations, calling it now.
The market on scarabs will be nuts this league!

Fun thing is, even if there are super busted meta strats, lots of people will still use the lesser scarabs in their 2nd and 3rd tree potentially.
Being able to have 11 essences easily with all of them having at least one shrieking essence will be nice
does the delirum boos Scarab will synergies with div scarb for full stack? so we can drop basacly a MB?

Good to remember that the map device mods are very strong now and exist for (almost) everything. Ritual for 4c. Delirium for 7. Legion for 5. It's good stuff.
If anyone's confused they don't riff in detail about the scarabs that have been discussed in Ziz's interview with mark. I recommend watching at least the scarab portion of that before this video. It makes a lot more sense their reactions in context. Stay Sane Exiles
I havent seen a video or geard mention of the 3 atlas passive trees we get now making all content farmable at each ones peak level. That's the biggest w ive ever seen

Horned scarab of tradition + beastery + beyond (with their scarabs) seems OP.

now to sit and figure out which ones will be able to drop in deli/simu and which ones are going to be removed from those drop pools.
If the scarab has limit of 4, does the map device consume stack of 4 plus other slots if they have scarabs? Or do I have to put 1 in each slot to get the effect( like before)

Hard to tell since so many are so strong, if they will all be really expensive, or if they will all be cheap, since most are equally as strong as each other. And how much not being able to roll them will effect the prices
the bronze ones will probably be cheaper than current rest probably more expensive winged ones maybe way more expensive and horned prob multiple divines per
the first two "tiers" of scarabs will probably be giga common. they're world drop currencies now so Im expecting them to drop like candy in full atlas maps.
earlier we had sextants so scarabs have to twice as good as earlier to be at same effect thats why i think they buffed scarabs
Can you still farm bosses for maps? If so the 15% chance for packs to be replaced by bosses seems pretty sweet for early currency.
you can with the new shrine scarab, it puts a map boss to all the shrines in the map, combine that with thorough exploration, you get at least 10 map bosses with wisps + you can get 60% dupe with carto scarabs
and since we are going for thorough exploration, and clearing the map, destructive play will always give 3 extra bosses
I never once found a Nameless Seer, so it's not nerfed for me, now I might actually get the chance to see the little fucker
Hey Zizaran, for the 50% chance for an item to have an abyss socket with the rares (Abyss Scarab of Emptiness), and stacking it with the tree there is one outcome with the abyss socket items dropping and its the rares have a guaranteed reward scarab (Honed scarab of Tradition), if it hits fracture, Im pretty sure that it changes items forcing one of their mods to be fractured, it should be a much more frequent outcome with the reduced pool, and with juicing the number of rares, you should be able to pretty feasibly target a fractured abyss socket on a piece of gear. Depends totally on the frequency of the rares have reward scarab, but it would actually make a niche method of farming abyss socket fractures.
I do kind of wish that they would rarely drop fractured abyss sockets from 83/84 liches though in t16/17 (we'll have to see on the t17) depths, sort of like Chayula dropping fractured grasping mails.

The only (pure conjecture) theory I have in my head is that heist may be a good way to get loads of scarabs in the new system, so it's a balancing decision - but it definitely feels weird to lose sextant support and apparently get nothing in return.
There also doesn't seem to be a spot for them on the teased stash image.
If there are no scarabs, there will definitely be a lot less caches on offer for heist players, and we'll be stuck using it as the map device option.
Considering they're managing to make delve work with scarabs, it's definitely frustrating that heist doesn't get the similar minimal support.
They missed heist totally. But Heist also has a major benefit of not having stuff maps can drop.

While less caches will suck, the main thing that bites me will be no more implicates on contracts so will now have to run 3x more contracts to get the same amount of reveals :|

For the Div card one, why would you need to change Favorites each time? Doesn't matter what Map you do, you always get Div card drops from Favored Maps.
I think he means change favorites when not running the scarab. So you'd have to save up a lot of them before running them otherwise you need to change your favorites back and forth every time you use a scarab.
Funny, I didn't know Ziz practiced ventriloquism in his off-time. How did you get it to sound just like Steelmage?
Question, for the limit: 2+ scarabs, do you have to put them seperately in the map device, or put 2 of them together for it to work?

@@hungrosa I honestly don't think so, as you could use more scarabs than there are slots intended, and secondly, consuming first scarab is convenience feature to run multiple maps without putting in scarabs every single time.
@@hungrosa you can stack scarabs like you can currently but the limit refers to actual slots on the map device, you can only put 2 of those scarabs separately in the device - if you stack them it will only use at a time

You can use multiple of the same one even. The second line says how many of this scarab you can use at the same time
@@rockzdahouz I understand about multiple of the same scarab with 2+limit, but i didnt think you can put different scarabs of the same type together. Like with old scarabs you cant use rusted div scarab and gilded div scarab together
@@Nosleepums I'd expect now that works since they are completely unique effects. Old scarabs were just the same scarab with bigger numbers.
Honestly with these changes I really wanna try different mechanics. Glad we have multiple atlas pages tho
I was so close to coming back for a few days to finish challenges, but then I thought "nah im not gonna change atlas every hour" Working through challenges is gonna be a whole lot nicer now with the multiple trees

all scarabs are part of the normal loot pool so yes. Winged scarabs are not exclusive anymore, they're just rarer.

heist itself got the short end of the stick because it lost its sextant modifiers (especially enchants on contracts!!!) and it received absolutely nothing on these scarabs.
Not much reason to play heist as intended anymore, you wont get +3 reveal or +200% coinage implicits on contracts.
Heist will be about running unrevealed 1-wing blueprints straight to the curios, hoping for one of the expensive bases.

I'm concerned that a side effect of this is that gameplay in endgame can become a bit too linear. Like you only have 4 scarab slots. Each league mechanic already has 3-5 scarabs so to farm a single league mechanic you are dedicating all your scarab slots. You can't stack delirium+beyond+whatever because there isn't enough scarab slots. So you will end up picking 1 mechanic like expedition or harvest or essence, rush the expedition and quit map. Even legion, I love legion+shrines+the gull as a budget headhunter setup but gloomshrine is gone, and with 4 sextant slots you are pulled between better legions or better shrines (so more acceleration/echo = more fun, but worse legions..). You don't have any room to throw in enraged boxes or empowered harbingers or literality anything else. It's just shrines and legion, or in optimal case with headhunter it would only be legion nothing else.
Buffed atlas tree helps with some of this but it doesn't come close.
This is amazing for SSF, when paired with 3 atlas trees too, because you were never able to exploit sextants properly anyway. But for trade league I'm a bit concerned that the top-end of mapping is going to look extremely stale, especially when compared alongside last league with the wisp buffs. And I'll just get bored much quicker
i think you're missing out if you don't see the potential in t17 mapping lol having a +1 to higher base type drops and an atlas tree is so fucking crazy. i have 7k hours and have to admit i can see you have a common case of burnout. i think there is plenty of high level blasting but soul eater is nerfed anyways. the extreme 0.1% bloat did come down
Can someone please explain why Harbinger is good? All I ever seem to get from it is chaos and alchemy shards and it seems entirely pointless.

I prefer one map sustain over buffed scarabs tbh. Disappointed they removed guaranteed map drops, hurts the more casual players especially.

Also I think flavor text could hint things. The flavor text for breach splinter scarab was “bit by bit” and for the increased amount of hands was “watch where you step” which is funny since they added the walk over hands to open them feature. Possibly means the other scarabs flavor text could hint things.

That will not turn them into vaal vessels.
Might work with the openable again though, which would be easily double your loot from them.
@@Kostchei Idk they are technically strongboxes. Works with the atlas passive tree to grant over 16 vaal boxes already. That's how i get rich early boyyyyyy

The gameplay involving putting Scarabs to use is reaaaaalllyyyy bad.
I really dislike reading through the scarabs, picking one, then taking it into the inventory and then putting it into the map device.
They need to put a menu on the map device with different categories, like
General
Abyss
Blight....
And you choose from them the specific effects and it automatically uses a scarab from your inventory or so.
Gating this folder feature into the premium tabs would be kinda weird.
Why is ritual looking better this league?
The scarabs are just that strong. Free rerolls is substantial.
All league mechanics are looking better as these scarabs are way stronger than the old scarab+sextant setups for farming singular league mechanics. It's possibly nerf to stacking overlaying league mechanics as you now only have 4 scarab slots as opposed to 4 scarab+sextant slots, so something like multi proj abyssal spires+delirium+beyond+div card+archnemesis converstions from last league cannot be done to the same level as there is only 4 scarab slots (also multiple parts of that strategy were nerfed/removed). But anything giving fixed rewards like ritual, legion, betrayal, delve, expedition, essences etc are all giga buffed to a whole new level.
I had heard the ritual rewards were being looked at, from crouchingtuna. it's always had some high ticket items like synth jewelry but now it has omens and likely less garbage loot in the rewards
Ti add, they also added omens to ritual. The auto six link omen last league was pretty valuable. On top of that, some of the more common ones had their uses as well.
This are nice but I get triggered that they made so many new scarabs and icons but couldnt listen to the player base about itemizing betrayal and instead scrapped it 😑 They could have kept veiled chaos and just added veiled exalt
