*Joey ≠ Shit* First reaction to this song: ruclips.net/video/2xr6CNhp244/видео.html Live version: ruclips.net/video/DxRXX_rgJtg/видео.html Happy Maggot Monday! :D
I miss Joey 🥺 I'm not the type of person that gets attached to famous people, but Slipknot was my favorite band for the longest time growing up and my gateway into heavier music. They were also my first metal concert as a teenager when Paul and Joey were both still around, and I followed Joey's other band Murderdolls too. When Joey passed it hit me hard because I have so many memories attached to his music.
Joey could play a tasty blast beat with the best of them. The man had groove, stomp and could beat the living shit out of a kit. The guy was a maniac on the drums. Fun stuff, Lauren.
Drummers don't always get stuck in the back seat. My buddy wa a singer, married to his bassist. She found a new meaning to "rhythm section", with the drummer in the band.. 😆
Joey's drumming is always satisfying! If no one has said it yet, his famous drum solo video from the same Disasterpieces DVD is sure a reaction worth doing. Or maybe even an audio only reaction of his drum solo track featured in the 9.0 Live album. This year, his family also posted a tribute video for the one year anniversary of his death, full with rare childhood, family and career pictures of his. It would be great reacting to it as well, but unfortunately it would probably get a strike because of the various songs that play in the background.
"Skeptic" from The Gray Chapter is one of my favourites for the drumming. Great double-kick work and groove there. Eeyore is another. Oh, and let's not forget the drum solo towards the end of "Only One" after Corey yells "Reckoning!" and it becomes mostly just Joey. 🤘
A phenomenon. Hearing and seeing this I realize that it's been a long time that I listened to the entire album. Going to do that to bring back the younger years...Cheers☕️🍺
Surfacing is peak of humanity in my opinion, art-wise, besides the lyrics - Corey has had better days. Musically, it cannot get more Slipknot than that. I know each drum pattern on this song by heart (and probably every other sound by the band as well). I used to feel that way about the first 4 songs of self-titled but after 5 years of listening few times a week I realized that they were just the perfect build-up for Surfacing. Then horror trilogy, into fast anger, into slow psychosis. What an album, man.
I've said it so many times, and I'll say it again. I love your outtakes! They always make me laugh. The headbanging while drumming looks cool, but seems dangerous, for some reason. Idk
Maybe for "iowa day" do every member cam(pinhead cam!)? Theres cams of this song and heretic anthem from that concert , disasterpiece have only joey and clown cam(whice you saw the clown cam in the disasterpiece reaction)
Yeah. The bridge in the Heretic anthem is dope. 20+ years later and I'm still not sick of the Disasterpieces DVD. I'm still waiting on a band to match Slipknot? I don't think it'll ever happen. They're a generational talent.

Eyeless is literally Joey's song, he owned that shit. Especially the intro.
Joey was on a level of his own.
Always ready for some Joey action! 😊
I would have to say Gematria has one of my favorite drumming parts 💜
Greatest Dummer and best mask ever. Joey’s mask will always be the best by a looong shot.

I crushed on Joey hard when I was a teen aha 😅
I love love love Joey. I've always been partial to the drumming in My Plague. Nice to see that you are currently at 6.65K subscribers. ;)
Fun fact: That wasn't pyro at the beginning, he just played so hard his drums often exploded.

JOEY was a beast... People dont realize how cumbersome those suits were for this album and tour cycles.
You can check Slipknot in the studio recording Iowa, early 2001… Sid recording, Joey playing, Corey screaming……. 🤤🥲
Hallelujah praise the lord. Been waiting for this bad boy.

So impressive. I’m down for more Joey cam action.
It's been said before but seriously RIP. Him and Clown are my favorite members of the band.
although this song is great, when he plays disasterpiece in this same concert it is a genuine masterpiece

Where did you get that shirt?
I made it :D
ミスチルと言ったらテレキャス!
I love both of them, but you need to watch jay play some of the angry songs, you choose, the man hits the kit like it owes him money
