    I have to say this is genius, you are a fly tying artist. This is similar to one of my favorite patterns. Thanks for sharing I'm definitely going to subscribe. Your awesome man.

    Back in The Early 70's I remember when Fly Fishing and keeping a few trout for The Pan I was amazed how many pebbles and stick matter was actually in a Trouts Stomach.

    Wow, that is quite an accurate representation. I found some caddis fully cased the other day stuck to the rocks with some fine webby material to bind the debris down. I peeled back the casing a little and the pupa inside was a brilliant green much like the color of your dubbin. The wing case appeared a brownish tan color. Very interesting tie and no doubt a must for my box.

      Thanks for checking it out! I do like this pattern and once you get the feel for burning the material it is really easy to tie!

    Best pattern that I've seen imitating a cased caddis. I'll have to give it a try. Thanks for posting it!

    Nice tie. Good idea burning the body, gives a realistic look. And I like the placement of the legs too.

    Really nice and innovative! I sure will tie some to bring to my trips this season.Why do you use curved hook? Is it to get the fly swim up side down, or what? The real cased caddis has a quite straight "house".

    • @NathanFollmer
      @NathanFollmer 8 лет назад

      +Christian Berthet The white stuff is from burning off the fibers. It's part of the chinelle (the core or the color burning out of the fibers).

    Let me guess, you copied this pattern from the Drake Mag forum. A pattern tied by a fellow with the handle Horn_Identity.

    • @Hammercreekflyfishing
      @Hammercreekflyfishing  10 лет назад +3

      Sadly I didn't know the drake had a fly tying forum. I did check out horn_identity, certainly some nice tying skills, but I couldn't find the pattern. I've messed around with melting all sorts of material (ice dub looks pretty cool too). While I didn't copy it I'm sure I'm not the first guy to tie something similar. If you have the link handy feel free to post it I wouldn't mind taking a look. Thanks for checking it out
