The yellow-breasted chat is a singbird mostly active in Spring, when he is easier to observe, and hard to miss. This video focuses on their beautiful and varied songs.
I have hiking around my favorite reservoir for about 30 years and have never heard this sound...until 2 years ago (maybe 3). Suddenly there is this random, no pattern song mix somewhere in that low brush. Just moved in and set up residence it seemed. For the first 2 years I would stand right in front of his song, about 20 yards distant or less, it seemed, but I could not see the bird tucked away in the dense shrubs near the lake and connected stream. Finally this year, in the morning sun, there was his glowing yellow breast in a wild cherry tree. Breakthrough! Well I kept following the clues which ultimately led me here. I didn't get a recording of him, but my memory did. I think this is the guy. Little gold nuggets like this are why I keep returning to RUclips. Thanks for the post. ☺

Beautiful. I was hearing these in Oregon this summer, but they wouldn't come into the open for me to film them :)
Sorry to hear that :(
@@Frenchylikeshikes Sometimes those things don't work out, sometimes it exceeds everything you hoped for. I'm used to it!
Thanks for the great post! I hear them but have seen one only once in several years.
helen: That's interesting. Glad I'm not the only one who had trouble finding them. 😄
Hey I found one , he or she was wounded so brought home for treatment
Actually if you want to make some kind of follow-up video, I would be more than interested to see it. Hopefully the little guy can recover.
Whats this bird that looks similar to this but whistles a couple notes up and down
Not sure, without a picture :)
The chats are all around my home listening to this and responding!❤️
