Hi Ems, I am in Killarney, Victoria - it is the hail That does the damage here too. I do have large shade trees so move my potted plants around throughout the year to protect them. You have some beautiful plants and they look like you really look after them. What a lovely hobby we have and good ( very good) hubby. I bought myself a new hot house and my hubby took a week to put it up. He built lovely shelves too....8x12. Great for my euphorbias, aloes and agaves. I also have a lovely hothouse for cacti and succulents. Kind thoughts to you and I look forward to more videos.

Hey Ems, great work. But are your succulents now also protected against frost and cold.? I mean ... the ground does freeze (i think) ...and it gets cold, isn't it? grtz Carine
Those succulent with overhead cover are protected from frost and hail. It avoids the succulent from frost bite or get frozen. But they are not protected from cold. But getting cold it’s fine they can handle it.And the ground just get cold but not frozen if you have over head cover. Where I am ,we only get minus 2 degrees the maximum.The use of covers is one of the most effective ways to protect succulent from frost damage. Covering vulnerable succulent provides them added insulation and a shield against the icy moist air. It also helps to warm the soil.
Hi Ria, it’s really good it makes a lot easier for me and less worry during winter time. And this area receive full sun during summer season so it protects them from burning and the shade cloth is mainly protecting my succulent from frost and hail.
Thanks for your reply Ems ,I will have to think about doing something similar. At the moment it’s more of a concern about how much rain and cold we are getting, so a new project might have to wait until Spring😊👏

what are you doing for your succulents in winter??this winter all my succulents destroyed 😑😞😖
Hi plant beauty love, winter time my succulent will stay where they are. I will just put some shade cloth if there is a forecast of hail and frost.

The shade cloth can also helps cut off the amount of rain if you install it in a slanting position.
