Thanks for the advice about adjusting skin tones in the HSL panel. This week I was editing photos taken at a party and adjusted the white balance to get skin tones correct but lost much of the blue ambiance from the disco lights. I shall have another go at those edits with this new knowledge.
So much can be accomplished with those Basic adjustments that I do the same, then proceed with other editing, also in a similar way. There are so many different ways to skin a cat in photo editing, it's nice to see someone who works similarly to me. It's kind of validating. :D
@@juliatrottiThanks a lot ! And please include the color ones as well. I'm using many of your presets ( which are fantastic BTW ) and would love to learn your thought process behind how you tweak those :)
I would LOVE to learn more about editing the curves and RGB. At the moment I feel scared to touch them and just stick ot tonal adjustments and using presets I've bought - which feels a bit limiting! x
Just bought some of your presets!! Tomorrow I have my very first professional photoshoot so I'm going to need them. Thank you very much for the effort❤️
Great video - very concise - you drew my attention to the brush pre-sets in lightroom (iris enhance, skin softening etc) - my shame not to know about them previously but I do now and look forward to using them in future - many thanks !!
In my camera review and behind the scenes videos, I always share all my camera settings for each photo! I also have a video called How to shoot in manual mode, which you can find if you sort my videos by popular. I go through my thought process of changing my camera settings depending on the lighting I'm working with.
Wonderful insight..Yes..In my opinion people need to learn as much as they can and be great editors!..first and foremost..of course while learning to be the same as your photographic techniques and style....and I don't mean Photoshop or manipulation or AI and making "fake" photos with adding/subtracting subjects or collages/photo montage either...that is and should be considered its own separate form of art and I am talking about "regular" photography...just a pure image you captured in camera..haha You basically can't go wrong with any digital camera brands nowadays..the technology is good all around..for example...people make a "big" deal with FUJI and their "fuji colors/simulations" which are good SOOC for Jpegs..but my point is..if you become a great editor..you can basically edit an image to look or even match those "fuji colors"..or whatever brand you thing has good "color science"..Canon.i.e..etc or Nikon/Sony.....so if you are a good editor at the end of the day it doesn't matter what brand you use..just as long as you get your final result the way you wanted it..
Hi Julia!I am troubled by the LG monitor up850n, because there is a black shadow flashing across the screen. Can I ask which monitor you are using? Thanks.
I use the Apple Studio Display. To be completely honest, while it's beautiful to use/look at and I do recommend it for editing, it's been quite buggy for me personally. If i move the screen to attach a cable to it, the screen goes black for a few seconds =\
@@juliatrotti It's not a LG monitor problem.I have found the answer to the problem that has been bothering me for 3 weeks. Turn off the hardware acceleration function of Google Chrome (Firefox or Microsoft Edge) You can try turning off the monitor's deep sleep function or energy-saving function.
How did you start making a living in model photography? I have a decently sized portfolio but am constantly told that there isn't anyway of making money off model photos as models normally don't have money to pay you. I'm dying to really start making a living off my photography and quitting my toxic job but I just can't seem to catch the wave.
I did use software other than Adobe. Most of these tips you can also apply to most other editing apps too as they usually all have cropping, tonal tools, similar colouring tools, etc
Yes, please do create a video about the S curve. It’s still a total mystery to me. I love your editing and also your presets
Great work as always! Would love to see the in-depth process for the curves tool😊!
Thank you and done, I will work on the curves video!
I would love to see a full clip about the curves! I’m still learning about them and it would be so helpful
Okay I will work on a video about this really soon!
The colour cast was new to me. Thank you!

Hi Julia, great video as always. Have you ever used Affinity Photo for your editing?
Yes to a ‘curves’ video please. They scare me!! When I try adjusting them I end up pressing undo because it always looks wrong
Thanks

When you show the unedited picture, are you showing the unprocessed preview or the processed preview before edit ?

Which camera do you usually shoot with though?
My main camera is the Sony A7IV

hi you have preset?
Hey. A little side note. The 2 equally bright catch lights looks really bizarre. Thanks for your content.
Glad you enjoyed the video! What’s weird about the lights exactly?
Curves yes please
Does your presets work in lightroom mobile?
Hi, we can't download your app for Android, It's said "It's was made for older version android" Please update 😢
Oh no, I'm sorry! I will look into it and try to fix it!
15 pro max review...when 😅
Probably by the end of next week! I only got the phone a day ago so I need time to film and edit 😅
would be nice if you had used a software that was accessible for the majority of us viewers. photoshop too expensive..
