17/18 season hurts me the most as a Ronaldo fan, I should be happy when I hear about his 17/18 season coz he won UCL and was surely the best player in the world but every time I hear anything about 17/18 season, I get sad because they robbed my idol of his 6th Ballon D'or and I think that really shattered his confidence as after 2018 he was never the favourite to win this award. Imagine working so hard, carrying your country in WC group stages, winning the UCL as top scorer, being one of the highest goal scorers in the world and winning other individual awards but you still don't get recognised as the best player as the Ballon D'or was given to someone else(Ballon dor is the recognition of the best player). I think that's why he was never the fav to win ballon dor as he probably stopped caring about this award. Same as me, From 2018 onwards, I stopped caring about ballon dors, anyone who judges a player based on Ballon do'r doesn't know anything about football. For me, Ballon do'r doesn't decide who was the best in the world. Now, I don't care who win it and who doesn't, it's an overrated award. And please I am not saying this coz Messi has more ballon do'rs, In 2018 when modric won the award, Ronaldo and Messi both were equal(5-5) but still I stopped caring about this award(I didn't know Messi was gonna win more) even if Ronaldo had more ballon dors after 2018, I still wouldn't care, I never used ballon dor argument in any debate.

@@gamalong3966 In my opinion, you should judge a player first purely on his footballing abilities and then stats, Even if Haaland breaks every Messi Ronaldo record, he still won’t be called the greatest player of all time because he can’t give a single accurate pass. So first you should watch the player and not just 1 or 2 matches but for at least half a season and then judge him and then look at his stats.
