I am almost done with book 3 and I100% agree :) its even better than Vol 2

Vol 3 is books 3 & 4. both are greats reads too. The Reddit sub for this series has a guess that there will be 30ish through Vol 9 (the one being written right now). And I'm all-in. They can't release the ebooks fast enough for me.

Yes please! Thank you for being part of the group that understands that the 5 star rating is not enough. That cell phone call is one of the longest running mysteries in the entire series. It took a long time to understand all the implications of it and track down who is who. Toren is watching a baby get abused by someone who literally has no idea Toren is a baby. MR1 was a reaction to pressure from the community and Pirate did it to present why they aren't the person for the kind of romance they thought people wanted. They got better at it later, sort of.
The blowup of the inn was so devastating...until you get further along and it becomes something amazing. I love that you picked up on the fact that the people who got plucked are in heavy coping mechanism. These are not super capable folks, they are KIDS. You put kids in danger and they acted like kids. Also the stuff appears like twice in the massive novel. What angers people IMO and what I hear a lot is that folks are not "rational". I've heard this critique often enough but it usually is hard for me to see the point of view because asking for rationality baffles me. People can be consistent and still be irrational. It defies reason for me to think that humans in tough situations would make judgement calls only based on rational logic. How does that compute?
For sure the 5 star system just isn’t enough. I’m near the end of book 3 and Toren is a much changed character lol
I've heard nothing but good things about this series...one day I can't wait to dive into the audiobook! :)

I also feel like it's heavily underestimated just how weird the world they've been thrown into is.. It's a video game world, not just a fantasy world, it's a world where you get pinged with level ups and so on.. I feel that more than the fantasy world itself would be the most disturbing thing for me

Ohhh I wouldn’t be suprised if Relc gets great character growth. I have been shocked a couple times already in book 3 with two characters in particular:). I look forward to discovering more!

Even though I’m loving it, I’ve ground to a halt with book 2 as it’s just so big. I don’t do audio so reading 1700 pages is a long haul. I think I’m about 35% in and have really enjoyed what I’ve read, but I’ve still got about 1000 pages left to read which is a bit over facing
Yeah I got through with audio and that still was super hard to process. Fingeres crossed that when you come back to the series its full steam ahead and that you continue to have fun with it.

This is a great series. The politics entry in book two was cringe and pulled me out of the story...but I do agree with your point that it was something that the characters could still cling to for their sanity; that they are Earthlings in a strange world. Ryoka is a hell of a character to get used to, but I really began to appreciate her perspective in later books. I read ahead at pirateaba's website, which is good and bad. I prefer the audiobooks, but now I'm about two and a half books ahead of them. The Witch of Webs (Book 12 -->June 11th) is a Grand Slam, and I can't wait until I experience it in audio-form! (I think that's volume 7 on the website.) Great video! 👍

Loving this series but had to speed it up to 1.75x. Although the lissssssp for the drakes was driving me NUTS by the end of book 2 😅

I love this series so much, and I'll always recommend it if someone is interested. I binged it for a year and got caught up, its been 5 years since then and it's still getting better. It's such an expansive and well developed world. I've cried more because of the wandering inn than anything else in my life (and I'm a crier xD).
People may also say it's woke because of plotpoints and plotlines and even offhand mentions further on that involve the lgbtqa+ community and how its also part of innworld.
It's wonderful representation and after being introduced, it's there. Never erased. I love pirateaba's work.
I just finished book 3 today! I’m so excited to keep experiencing this story! Even if that’s the reason people says it’s woke. I think it mirrors life in general and I love it! Glad You love this series so much!

That is 100% fair. Honestly that chapter is kinda skippable. I still oddly liked and didn’t like how uncomfortable the chapter is. Because the character is also clearly uncomfortable. Necessary not at all BUT it felt real! So I like that

the title is basically fae/faer, there's furry porn in it and ryoka basically goes on socialist rants for crying out loud 🤣

I think furry porn is going a bit far but it’s certainly an uncomfortable scene for sure….

the chapter just stuck out like a sore thumb to me, but it's one of the first ones were it's very noticeable that it is a web series, and some weeks the author just writes whatever they feel like or even what the fans voted on.
