Please do the Galaxy test. What I can’t understand is why the industry is giving Apple a pass on their under performing wifi7. You are one of the few illustrating what others seem to think is no big deal.
Looks like I'm getting enough requests to throw in the S25 Ultra into the tests when I get it. Pixel has similar speeds to the iPhone btw and they've been WiFi 7 since the Pixel 8. One of the other reasons for mentioning this is because I review routers, lots of them. So I don't want to say hey look at the speeds I'm getting with this router and people get the router, do a test and they get nowhere near what I'm saying. So I do these tests to demonstrate the capabilities. The other reason is what you mentioned, no one is really talking about the wifi 7 speeds other than just saying oh it supports WiFi 7. At least I haven't come across one yet, maybe there is someone, so I thought it would be good to show the phone from this perspective.
Interesting test...I have always noticed that the WiFi performance of my iPhone 15 Pro Max wasn't as good as my wife's S24 Ultra. In some places, she will have 3 or 4 bars of WiFi signal strength whereas my iPhone 15 Pro Max would struggle to get 2 bars of WiFi in the same location while I am standing right next to her and this test confirms it. I have since sold my 15 Pro Max and purchased the S24 Ultra - couldn't be happier with my decision.
Agreed. I found that out the hard way after purchasing my iPhone 15 Pro Max new and on many occasions found the WiFi to be sub par compared to my wife's S24 Ultra. Might be tempted to trade in my S24 Ultra for the S25 Ultra if the trade in deals are good and the specs of the S25 Ultra is significantly improved. Not too interested in any of the AI features as it's still in its infancy 😊
Apple rolled 160MHz WIFI 7 in the iPhone 16 - so half the throughput of S24 Ultra and Pixel 9 Rumoured Reasons: Less handset heat, lower frequency = less directional, and bending around objects?! So better signal strength and coverage
I made this video for the very reason to point out that the OnePlus is better than the iPhone in terms of WiFi 7 speeds. For someone like me that tests routers all the time, the new iPhone is not up to par with the OnePlus and Samsung. Those two Android phones are superior which is why I use them to test new routers all the time. I’m hoping the next iPhone gets this issue resolved. I bought an iPhone since that’s the most common phone so people can get a better picture in their heads. Now with all that said, for real world use case scenarios it’s fine. Granted that’s not an excuse for them to miss the mark. Just a heads up the Pixel is in the same boat as the iPhone. I’ve done videos on those as well.
I'm running it on the Mac Mini M2 Pro. It has the 10Gbps port, so these speeds are almost as fast as they could go other than placing the phones more optimal
Why do people feel like they have to justify whenever an apple product is beaten? If it was the other way round, I'm sure it would have been a big deal
You can't win either way. Last time the other phones beat the iPhone and I said that in my previous video comparing it to the OnePlus 12 and Galaxy S24 Ultra. Then people commented that 1.6Gbps Internet speeds is very fast and you could do just about anything with those speeds and I agree with that so I mentioned it this time around cause it's true. But when I say that now it sounds like I'm trying to defend apple. Can't win either way so I just go with how I feel which is that 1.6Gbps is very fast and you can do a lot with it. But at the same time I point out the OnePlus 13 is the superior product here when it comes to wifi 7 speeds.
@landpet it's always the apple fans that will say that & bring up those reasons. You know very well that if the android phone had lost they wouldn't have said that. They've said apple is better but because apple, they couldn't just apple lost, they want to justify the loss.
Doesn’t really dictate real daily downloading speeds. Emulator’s, large files, transfers all download faster on my IPhone than my Oneplus. The “testing” apps just show what they are capable of, not how they actually download or process the download speeds
One comment mentioned it only use Wi-Fi 6 chipset, my guess if he's wrong is because it's connected to 160 MHz not 320 MHz It's only my guess, don't take my word for it
Checked gsmarena it says iPhone 16 pro/pro max use tri band wifi 7 connection meanwhile the OnePlus 13 shows dual OR tri band connection not sure what that means but yeah, it feels like the wifi 7 isnt actually wifi 7 on iphone considering whata going on with apple and Qualcomm feud, it's more of wifi 6e but tad better 🤔, also another take its that apple is just limiting it to 160mhz rather than 320
Just connect to 6hz and not MLO. It will hit the same speeds. When you use MLO on iPhones and pixels they will NOT use 6ghz ever for any reason. The channel width on the pixel is still locked to 160hz. But it can still do over 2gig. So can the iPhone.
I've tried various scenarios with various routers, I've seen it go as high as the 1700's in the downloads (Mbps). I'm almost certain I connected to just the 6GHz band as well since some routers work better on 6GHz vs MLO.
@@landpet Using an Archer GE800 router by the way. If I put it in MLO it barely if not never chooses 6ghz on the phone itself. If I separate 6ghz into its own hand and connect to that I see faster speeds. In MLO it heavily weighs having a good signal over performance. Which then makes it never really opt for 6ghz or even 5ghz with a decent signal. Around 50rsi and the pixel won't even try that band.
@@_Trakman Really xD its a 1year old accesspoint with shitty firmware and NOBODY can tell me why download is only 400-500mbit when download on cable is 900Mbit. running 6ghz 320mhz wifi7 1m away

Price. I purchased a used S24 Ultra 256GB for A$1,200 (approx US$736) 😊 Besides, the S25 Ultra had not been released at the time.

Apple big lies.. They don't use wifi 7..only wifi 6 chipset ... They are in conflit with Qualcomm
Interesting, had no idea
iphone 16 got wifi 7 but limited to 160mhz only
Qualcomm conflict doesn't matter in this regard, Apple has been using Broadcom Wifi chipset for a long long time already.
Nothing to do with Qualcomm.

160Mhz, everyone else using 320MHz
Basically
Take them out of the cases. Stand them up vertically using a wall or cabinet. Then, rerun the test.
It will make a minor difference, not enough to change anything. I run speed tests all the time since I'm constantly testing new routers.
