I especially enjoyed your talk on flexibility of 'persona', 'self'. There are so many people in the world who become snared by ideas of what and who to be. It causes great distress in our hearts when we think such things, as it caused distress in me. When I stopped worrying about chasing the perfect job, when I let go of this concept of having control, this hard life became much easier. Now I can be happy most days. A lot of it thanks to Shakyamuni Buddha's teaching on the emptiness of self, as he spoke on in his discourses: "When this exists, that comes to be; with the arising of this, that arises. When this does not exist, that does not come to be; with the cessation of this, that ceases. That is, with ignorance as condition, volitional formations come to be; with volitional formations as condition, consciousness…. Such is the origin of this whole mass of suffering. But with the remainderless fading away and cessation of ignorance comes cessation of volitional formations; with the cessation of volitional formations, cessation of consciousness…. Such is the cessation of this whole mass of suffering.’" I subscribed because this video was a pleasant surprise :)
Thank you for subscribing to my channel. I agree. According to the Buddha's 12 Links of Dependent Origination; "this exists, so that exists; if this does not exist, that does not exist." This succinctly captures the essence of the interconnectedness and dependent origination in Buddhist philosophy. if you don't have self, then you don't have to worry about anything like my identity or my posessions and my feeling that comes from self, which often delude us.
I feel you man, I once gave my friend 5$ and he never gave it back. What an asshole.
