- IRHS i,e Indian Railway Health Service, Recruited by UPSC Through
Exam- Combined Medical Services Exam.
Through this exam, Group-A doctors are recruited for Indian railways, Ordinance factories, Municipal corporation of Delhi, Delhi Municipal Council, Central Health Services.
Central Health services are headed by DGHS.
Activities of IRHS oFFICERS:-
1) To attend Railway accident & other untoward incidences
2) Pre-employment Medical examination to allow only fit & suitable candidates to join the services.
3) PME (Periodical Medical Examination) of serving employees to allow fit persons to continue in those jobs which are related to the safe running of the train.
4) To conduct medical Boards & other medical certification of serving employees.
5) To ensure the safe water supply at Railway Station:
6) To constantly check on the quality of drinking water and food made available at Railway Stations.
7) Certification of dead bodies at Railway Station, Railway Yards, Railway line etc
8) Certification of perishable goods in Railway Station about their disposal.

Please rectify. The initial posting in IRHS is as Assistant Divisional Medical Officer (ADMO) and not AMO.
Earlier contractual doctors were posted as AMO.

They get conveyance allowance if no vehicle proivided by railway

If a candidate is declared unfit(Injustice) by board of Doctors... Where should he approach, if he is found fit by other Two different Railway Hospital. In Two different Zone.

Railway Board Doctors said after seeing the injustice done by Doctors of SCR, We can't do anything regarding this, you file a case in CAT court.

Somehow If I get PG seat while Being being a medical officer of Railway , would they Grant me Study leave almost for 5 year?
Becoz MD course gonna be 3 years long course with 2 years Rotation Bond in Uttar Pradesh
You can avail study leave of 3 years only. This is as per railway rules.

Is Promotion Sure after 4 years or it is just formality... I n reality promotion happens or not.
Promotion mostly occurs. There could be exception depending upon vacancies. Nothing is certain in this World
Promotion is assured till level of ACMS (level 14/20 yrs) after that for CMS, CHD, DG RHS, Promotion is based on vacancies
