Green - Cardio for days into relentless pressure. (Aka PED Dagestanis. Send location.)
Blue - "Why fight hard when fighting dirty works so much better?" Kicks your knees, fish-hooks you, grabs your gloves, generally plays as dirty as possible to keep you from ever fighting back.

My favorite MtG archetype to play back in the day was Legacy MUD. Turn 1: 2 Mana land -> Chalice of the Void on 1 OR Grim Monolith -> Trinisphere.
In a format where the most powerful cards cost between 1-3 mana, both those options generally deny your opponent the ability to play the game before you combo kill them on turn 3.
    Peak gaming

I watched the funniest backhand/pimp slap I have ever witnessed (or could imagine witnessing) get caused by one of those decks. Kid running that it got his tourney prize packs for winning with it, which was cool I guess, but he also got rocked so hard he did a full 360 before plopping to the ground like a damn cartoon, while the other kid called him various versions of "little bitch." I cannot confirm or deny if he actually pissed himself, but... That's what people say. Lol
He still gets hilarious, unrelenting shit for one of those things consistently to this day. 🤣

Blue always had nasty synergy with both White and Black. I know White could increase the lockdown capability. There was a white creature card that prevented anyone from doing anything during your turn. Eqipose let you temporarily fizzle opponents's permanents based on the number of permanents you had. (If you had 3 lands and your opponents had 5, you would remove two of those lands from the game until their owner's next turn). And Blue/Black would just whittle your entire deck/hand down. Rat creatures that reduced max hand sizes. Enchantments that made you discard the top card of your deck to attack. And creatures that grew stronger based on how many cards were in each graveyard.

I stopped playing many many years ago but kept two nostalgia decks for fun. Both decks were constructed with two limitations: No cards printed after Tenth Edition, and no rare cards.
One is a gimmick deck: goblin sappers, stone rains, and direct damage. It's not very good.
The other defeated several decks with rares handily. It's a blue and white deck that depends entirely on Protection From Red - and has a dozen ways to make things red, including 4 Shifting Sky.
"No, you cannot hurt me or my creatures. You cannot block them. Play all the cards you like, you can do nothing. Your rare cards are useless."

      @phileascurtil5605 8 дней назад

Another fun thing. I played a deck centered aroud a green card that can't be block by permanents with less than 4 str and has hexproof. combine that with an enchantment that allow you to not be blocked by permanents with more than 4 str, almost no one can block you. This creature also has poison 2 or 3 and can be affected by some good scaling effects.
      Goodbye...

I have a Grixis group hug deck that wins via bullshit. Two games have been won via Insurrection, one with a lockdown from Kaerveck that led to my opponent decking himself, one that actually hugged everyone to death (pinging people for drawing and discarding, then making then draw and discard a lot), and one via Cruel Entertainment to trigger an infinite loop.

@shadowmancy9183 my favorite cEDH deck is Grixis (RogSi) and my second favorite casual deck is also grixis (Either Nekusar or RogSi for commander depending on if im trolling a little bit) as a grixis wheels deck that can win out of nowhere.
If any Opponent has 11 cards in hand and I have Nekusar out, I can Windfall and cast a Flare of Duplication, pinging everyone for 22 commander damage.
Most I've done in a single turn was something like 90 damage to each Opponent by casting Wheel of Fortune 5 times with sheoldred out using underworld breach and Jeskas will

My favorite deck, Solidarity, is a blue combo-control deck that got its name because part of its plan is to make sure its opponent never gets to do anything, then it spends 15 minutes playing with itself before winning.
Magic is a zero-sum game. There is a limited amount of fun to be had, and I intend to have all of it.
