- Alleppey is a must-visit place in Kerala for both tourists and travellers. There is plenty of things to do in Alleppey, a place which is also known as Alappuzha or 'the Venice of the East'. Out of many things that you can do in Alleppey, a houseboat overnight stay is something I would recommend the most. It is certainly a touristy thing to do but definitely something you must do once in your lifetime. Kerala is famous for its Backwaters. If you want to see the real beauty of backwaters and experience floating onto it, try out the houseboat experience in Alleppey.

House boats were know as kettuvallam in the earlier times. It was a major mode of transport for goods and people. Traveling at times takes days. They cooked and slept in this big boats. When motor vehicles and fast boats with engine came, the demand for this boat declined......Some 20 years back it was modified introduced to tourism sector, it was a huge success......

Since you mentioned in the video that there is nothing to do in night while staying in houseboat. So would you recommend for a day tour and then spend night somewhere else in separate hotel? And what will be the price?

Definitely you can't drink😂😂😂, but it's geographical that it has lot of algaes...
You’re supposed to have the puttu with the kadala curry. That’s one typical combination. You can also pour over fresh coconut milk, add jaggery or sugar, and mix with ripe banana and crushed papad. The best!

Karimeen fry is very good, no doubt. But one needs to be extremely careful about its thorn as it is very dangerous if got stuck in your throat.

Totally safe, but avoid march to may end due to excessive humidity and hot weather, then June and July due to monsoon.

They don’t have the permission to sail in the evening for safety reasons
