Udupi - One of the major tourist spots of Namma Karnataka where people come to take Darshan of Lord Krisha at Krishna Mutt has also numerous iconic eateries too.
In this video we explore and do a Food walk in Udupi covering famous eateries
1. Mithra Samaj
Established in the year 1949 by Nittur Gopal Holla happens to be the first place to introduce Masala Dosa. They serve dishes without usage of Onion and Garlic. We loved their Mangalore buns , Bullet idly ( button idly ) with Rasam dip and Mango Rasayana.

2. Nagaari Canteen
This place happens to be a real hidden gem of Udupi. Located opposite to Kanakanakindi is an establishment started 58 years ago in 1965. This place serves amazing Mosru Vada. Not a fancy one but yet a very simple near to heart basic Mosru ( curd ) Vada. Main highlight of this is the sweetness thats coming from Curd. Definitely a must try when you visit Udupi.

3. Ajja Ajji Hotel (Ganesh Prasad Hotel)
One of the old eatery at Manipal ( Parkala ) run by an aged couple who are about 80+ year old. They serve south Indian meals everyday from 12pm-3pm.

During my PhD in Manipal, we used to go to ajja-ajji hotel in Parkala. The lady is from my place (Kadapa) and hence I got close to her as we both have conversations in Telugu. Amazing to see them!
Note: the place is renovated due to road extension. The old building was an ancient hut inParkala next to the Manipal-Ajekar road. The food is always served hot and cooked on wood logs.
Guru being a Mangalorean I am telling don't try Dosae items in coastal Karnataka. You will get much better Dosae in Bengaluru itself. Here always go with Buns, Golibaje, Sajiige Bajil, Patrode and similar local dishes
