Part of Metronet's new additions is a transformation of the Armadale line to raise the track between Victoria Park and Cannington, also upgrading the stations between Victoria Park and Amradale/Thornlie. The upgrade plans to remove the level crossings in the raised section improving safety of the passengers and drivers, both road and rail. The Armadale line is the only line that links up with the freight line at Mundijong jctn and with the line closed, the Australind has no way of accessing Bunbury. Metronet is also upgrading the Australind ADP/ADQ railcars to more modern C-series based railcars. With this change the current railcars have been taken out of service and have been preserved, with ADP102, ADQ121 & ADP103 at HVTR Pinjarra Sheds, ADP101 at the S.W. Heritage centre in Boyanup, and ADQ122 at Bunbury. The shutdown is due to last until late 2025 and Transperth rail replacement buses for the Armadale/Thornlie line will be in use, as well as TransWA coaches to from Bunbury, with one service going via Armadale and Pinjarra, and the other going via the Kwinana Fwy. Hope this helps!
Thank you for all of the detailed information, it's sad that the line will be down so long, but in the long run everything should be better,@@watrainfilms8520
Thank you for the video. Do you know why the Shutdown is happening?
