I noticed when you lifted the dead tree out the roots were still in the pot shape. I think that before you put things like that in the ground you should break up the soil from around the roots. I just find I have more success that way with all plants. Release the roots!! 😁😊
My Mum had a Green thumb and sh Always said to "tickle the roots". And every time I take a plant out of it's pot I say that to myself. 😂 It's a great memory of of Dear Mother that I haven't thought of in a long while. She is SO missed and I LOVE how your Mom helps you out too Elise and that you share that with us. Your little Winnie is totally blooming with LOVE. Good on ya!! 💜
Yes it helps the roots to loosen them up, I was also thinking since that's considered an exotic tree there, maybe you should have dug the hole deeper to keep the roots from being so close to the cold winter surface. 😉 Your spring flowers are looking so beautiful!! Yay spring, come on!! 🌺🌼🌸🌷🌺🌻🌸
Danish frost is very sharp, and many plants need protection till alest after Easter, I learnt this the hard way, unfortunately. But it might have be ok in a sheltered area, I agree with the roots too,
Your cottage is an amazing & beautiful space. You’re always so positive and enthusiastic about your planting. Everything you do improves the garden. As for the cost, I live in the US and here your space would be considered a bargain for sure. You’re such an inspiring young woman and a pleasure to follow. Thank you for sharing bits of your life with us.
We call those cheese buns “cheese Danish” ha ha. I thought you might find that funny. The garden is looking good. I love that you are calling the back patio area your secret garden. I just finished reading The Secret Garden with my book club which was started by another RUclipsr, the channel is Its a Charming Life. It’s made me so much more aware of the blooming things in my yard and neighborhood this Spring.
Every time I am working outside, I am thinking in my head, "Please sir, might I just have a bit of earth?" Have you seen the musical of a Secret Garden? There's a song in it about this.
i just love ur cottage ❤️ i could just stay in it . what about planting Japanese maple tree like a lace leaf ornamental small but keeps a burgundy color against ur yellow cottage would be gorgeous .
Elise, I enjoy watching your channel, I especially Love the Cottage videos. I worked at a garden center most of my life and did Landscape design. One suggestion I would like to make is, when planting any shrub or tree or even flowering plants, please find out the size that it will grow to and give it the space it will need to grow to full size from the beginning away from other plants or the house. I would say that was the biggest mistake customers made was planting too close ...lots of Love 🥰🦋🦋🦋Kelly
Love spring. I have a magnolia tree and it grew so fast after i planted it. It brings me joy every time it blooms and looks so pretty when the petals litter the grass. I also have a lilac tree/bush, the smell is ....heavenly. Are you also going to start your veggies indoor? One trick I learned, when you plant the seeds in cups cover with cling wrap and it forms a greenhouse effect to keep the seeds moist. As soon as you see a seedling take the wrap off.
You are so lucky to have this system in Denmark with the Allotment garden cottages. And what an excellent price. In Canada we don’t have this system and that cottage would probably be $200,000 Cdn. So happy you have this beautiful cottage
The cost of your allotment is so reasonable considering how expensive real estate in DK is overall. And such a lovely way to spend the summer! When I lived in Copenhagen I spent a lot of time biking and in the parks but it's not the same. You are doing an amazing job with it.
Wait until Luna sees her new cottage home...I love watching you two You cheer me up and make me forget about my cancer until I laugh so hard at you two then OUCH!
Lovely to see you enjoy your gorgeous cottage without having to rush. Plants are thriving so pretty, & love what you’ve achieved today Elise. 💗🎉🌱🌿🪴🌸🌼🌸 the table & chairs have come up lovely & its going to be a great private coffee area at the back. All your work is paying off & sunny days ahead for you to truly relax & enjoy 🏡🏝🎼☕️☕️🍪🍪🌸🌼👌🏻
A smaller tree will grow and adapt better. Older trees are not ony more expensive but tend to struggle more, and will need much more water management while they settle.
Man! That’s such an awesome price for the cottage-you make it look 3 times that amount 🥰 I can’t wait to see what you do to a house. Again *chefs kiss* super inspiring 🤌
Thanks for sharing the cost of your cottage! It is wonderful that Denmark has a program like that where people can have a garden and spend time in the country. I wish the US would do something like that. There are many communities that cheaply rent out gardens (20 dollars per season etc) but often there's no water available and certainly no cottages with it.
Hello! Seeing u for first time! I am so much enjoying your video’s. I love gardening, my sweet cats, and keeping up a home….so I am vicariously walking with you supportively! When I receive a settlement, I plan to buy a house of my own and ‘live in the garden’. I am 69 yrs young. 😁 I subscribed! Ahna. Atlanta/USA 💕💕💕 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦 Glory to Ukraine!
The cottage is amazing! Can't wait to see all the new plants and flowers bloom and all the new decorating ideas. That was a great buy. Now I feel the need to buy some flowers.
I can't believe people ask how much $ for the cottage🤷... It is looking so cute and the flowers are definitely starting 👏🎉🌱🌻🌼💐🥀it's a very peaceful spot away from all the hustle and bustle of real life stuff ❤️💃I love it and am so happy you have this little place!!
That white paint really covered the privacy fence very well! The beauty of a little cottage is that everything does not have to be perfect. Love how it looks!
The birds sound absolutely calm and soothing , and bring on nature at it"s best, which is the most peaceful place to be, i enjoy being out and digging & planting , to get really grounded i dig into nature bare hands and feel the energy of the earth, i"m currently in search of my favorite spot, it"s an exciting journey . Just like yours. Excited your progress.
Thank you for explaining what an allotment garden was and how those are used in Denmark. I never could understand your bathroom situation nor how you used water. This was very helpful.
I started watching you when you'd just bought the cottage. I was looking at tiny houses on utube. I like them all because I live in Australia and our seasons are opposite to yours. In the middle of winter here I get to enjoy your summer garden with you.
It is so satisfying to see your spring flowers return year after year. It truly is the best part of spring to me. Enjoy every minute of your garden time. ❤️
You’re adorable! In the beginning when you sighed, I totally can relate! I just bought a tiny cabin home and that sigh is well deserved, you did it and made it so, so cute!!
I can see such a difference in you since you closed the boutique! You look so relaxed and happy at the cottage, and not stressed at all the stuff you want/need to get done before returning home. I think you're going to find much more joy in your cottage, now that you have some extra time and breathing space. It was a very good call!
Hi Elise, The garden will be so stunning this Spring. Please do put down a substrate of pebbles or be a el on the dirt base, before laying the tiles for your new patio at the rear. This will mean they stay stable and that grass, plants, do not grow up through the tile, and won't make the tiles shift with the growth also, to prevent cracking etc :)🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
I live your cottage and all you have done to it . Thanks for explaining about how the cottage process works . You are such a beautiful girl with a beautiful soul and your love fir nature us to be admired
It was very understanding that you answered the very intrusive question about the price of your cottage! I’m always impressed with all you do on your own!! Looking forward to seeing the garden come to life🌟
I can't wait to see the garden in full bloom. Great deal on your cottage! It is so lovely, peaceful and well worth the money. Any house updates? Hope all is going well. 💜🌸😎
Dont forget to pull all those wonderful sumflower seeds from each sunflower bloom before you throw them away! We get hundreds of sunflowers from one dried out bloom!💜🌸
I wish I had your energy and laid back energy. You are so mature and have grown so much before our eyes. I'm 40 and I always feel so proud of you in a mom way. You're doing great darling 😘
Shame, about selling the big table and chairs, I could just see you and all you family, on a sunny evening, having a BQ, glasses of wine, and plenty of laughter, we haven't seen your sister, for a long while, hope she is keeping well, the cottage is looking fantastic, best wishes.
Love all your videos and love uour garden ones especially. So fun to see the flowers and uour projects bloom. Working outdoors and doing projects like this are so rewarding. Thank you fir for sharing
I love allll the cabin videos . I just grabbed my coffee and chilled out . And just listened and watched you chat away and talk about the garden . And I love every minute. ❤️
…oh I’m right there with your excitement for all things sunshine/colorful/bird life/garden peace…so cute you have paint all over your hair like I do when I’m creative…so happy for all of your epic changes moving forward 🌷💚🌸🪴🧑🏻🌾🧚♀️🛍🥗💐
Your cottage videos are my favorite! So cute! Just a little tip…. when you plant something new in the ground it is a good idea to water it in. Maybe you did this off camera. Can’t wait to see everything come to life! 🌷🌿🌼🍃🌸🌱🌺🌿🌷
What a sweet little cottage I can’t wait to see what color your hydrangeas are it’s going to be so pretty against the white fence. I used to have a magnolia tree in front of my old cottage home in Los Angeles and the birds loved it and the flowers were so big & fragrant. The leaves are so easy to rake because they’re so big. ❤️
Find out your hardiness zone is. Then before you buy a plant look up what it hardiness is. It should tell you the zone. Also even when a shrub or perennial looks dead, it will take awhile before you see ANY bud or shoot. Sometimes, depending on variety, after spring. So be careful what you dig up snd toss. (Learned that one the hard way. Haha.) Enjoying your videos.
Hello Elise! I absolutely love your darling cottage and garden! I had to look up the definition of hortensia. 🙂 I suspected it was the same as hydrangea by looking at the bud and I was right! I learned a new word for what we call hydrangea in the US. Have a lovely spring. I’m looking forward to watching your garden grow!
I am so happy that you look happy I'm glad you're back at the cottage every so often I missed you going there and I'm sorry you had to give up your business but you will do fine
I love seeing your cottage videos !! I got so excited seeing things blooming around your cottage. I adore your style for the cottage. Very inspiring !!

Can you believe 70 degrees in March?! We are usually still buried in snow. The birds are coming back...and even the rain does not bother me. Oh dear...I so love your little garden cottage, so very much...am excited to see all your plants in bloom. I want to plant lavender by my front door, but the children here in this huge apt. complex are rather unruly. And inclined to uproot plants and vegetables or steal them. Sigh! Even window boxes are not safe from them. Your so lucky to have such a nice little cottage. I'm so going to enjoy yours...thanks for sharing love.😊🌷🌸🌷🌸🌷☕🍪💛💛
I noticed when you lifted the dead tree out the roots were still in the pot shape. I think that before you put things like that in the ground you should break up the soil from around the roots. I just find I have more success that way with all plants. Release the roots!! 😁😊
I noticed the same thing. I hope Elise takes your advice.
My Mum had a Green thumb and sh Always said to "tickle the roots". Yes me too. Told by my mum and Granny to always loosen the roots before planting.
Danish frost is very sharp, and many plants need protection till alest after Easter, I learnt this the hard way, unfortunately. But it might have be ok in a sheltered area, I agree with the roots too,
Your style is just so cute! A tip for light sanding jobs is to wrap the sandpaper around a small block of wood.😊
definitely, but I didn't have one :D
Elise, you are such a sunshine in this crazy world!
Your cottage is an amazing & beautiful space. You’re always so positive and enthusiastic about your planting. Everything you do improves the garden. I agree! In America this is an excellent price.
Thank you
Its like a fairy tale...I love it...makes me want to move there... All the flowers are lovely 🥀🌸🌼🌹🌺💐🌻🌷🌳💗
I love when you work on your beautiful cottage.

Nice cottage and beautiful environment
The reason spring is so wonderful for me is greeting all my friends in the garden that survived the winter and came back to the sun.
You are so lucky to have this system in Denmark with the Allotment garden cottages. And what an excellent price. In Canada we don’t have this system and that cottage would probably be $200,000 Cdn. So happy you have this beautiful cottage

Buying a house is also a totally different price here 😁😁

Financial questions like how much did you pay for your cottage are inappropriate. You handled the situation with grace Elise.
The cottage is amazing! Can't wait to see all the new plants and flowers bloom and all the new decorating ideas. That was a great buy. Now I feel the need to buy some flowers.
People shouldn't ask what you pay. That's a personal question.

Is it considered gauche to ask a European how much they paid for something?
Your cottage is coming along lovely. ❤
Your cottage is really looking absolutely beautiful! I love your style. I too am into vintage, antique type of furnishings and accessories.

You’re adorable! In the beginning when you sighed, I totally can relate! I just bought a tiny cabin home and that sigh is well deserved, you did it and made it so, so cute!!
Elise at the area in back you need a drainage canal for when it rains, because rain will collect in your paved area/dirt and run back under your house.
I can see such a difference in you since you closed the boutique! You look so relaxed and happy at the cottage, and not stressed at all the stuff you want/need to get done before returning home. And life is good!
The birds are almost chirping louder than you talk 😂😊 seeing the progress on the flowers never fails to cheer me up 🥰
your wood patio set goes well with the door for your patio. Its a nice contrast to the painted colors.
I love u so much! I enjoy seeing u in the cottage. You look so peaceful and enjoying ur self. 🥰

It really wasn't my style 😁 black plastic in my garden? Nooope
Wow lovely place darling, I wish you happiness
That is a great price Elsie. It's such a beautiful cozy place.👍💞🧞♀️🌴😁🐣
Did I misunderstand? The US price was $17,000? And Euros was $65,000? I don’t think they equal the same! I’m confused.🤷♀️
Your cottage is so peaceful and quaint.
Nice garden
