When working in midland Texas in 2012 we were remediating recirculation pits from new wells they drilled. We had to deep bury them usually 15-20 feet deep and in one hole it was sandstone and when we broke out a chunk there was an ammonite in it that was over 4 feet in diameter and it was to heavy and bulky to fit into a truck or it would be at my house…. Congrats well done with the rd4 those are some great pieces thanks for sharing see you on the next one👍🏼👊🏼
When I was working in the Fort Worth/Saginaw area in 2010 I drove by a house that had 6-8 of these on the front porch. Just as big if not bigger. I found a piece of one about 8-10” when I was a teenager in the 70’s on a ranch in Tilden. At the time I thought it was a fossilized horn. Never heard of ammonite back then.
Hey Jason! I just bought the newest Rockhounding book of Texas. They did not reveal your location 😂 I’m actually glad because this is your peaceful little sanctuary! 💜 Your channel is doing great and I’ve been share your huge ammonite find with everyone I know! Congratulations and Happy New Year! I will be joining you soon okay?!
Well hello & thank you. I've had a couple chunks of those for years but didn't have any idea what they were. All I knew was they were neat fossils so kept them. Then tonight, I found your video & NOW I know. lol I'm also in TX as well but I'm in the heart of it. I used to hunt heart rocks with my grandson, now 21yrs of age but we'd also collect anything else that caught our eyes. I have several very interesting stones & still don't know what they are. I'm hoping things will settle down in my life so I can get outdoors again & do what you're doing. Just explore & see what I find.
Holy cow! Never in my long life have ever seen one that big! Seen a couple of kids hunt them of the coast somewhere in England, but they are babies, compared to these! Are there any laws in place that says they belong to the government? Like over in England and other places? One day soon , would love take a ride over to that creek and see what is there. (Very, long drive!) So happy I found you!
I guess I can. I know a good spot for that in Dallas area. Thank you so much for the support on Patron. I ll have your goodie box shipped out asap! Was kinda wanting fresh material from the crater but that could be 1-2 months out. Had for you to wait that dang long
Do you know who loves ammonites? Theo Kellison ..... he has a RUclips channel by that name and an invite to him to come on a hunt may bring you more subs. Best to you and you've found some stunning pieces!
The last time I brought RUclipsrs out here they took what they wanted and did not post the video they didn’t even give me a shout out on their channel. His name is nugget noggin he ruined it for everyone else
@user-rh4hc4hj1z Hate's a bit strong. But I have no respect for the man. He basically sold pardons in his last weeks as POTUS. Can't get much lower than that.

Holy giant ammonite, Batman!
Nice
Happy Christmas
You need to go to the museum in Fort Worth Texas. I think it was found on the north side of Ftw in fossil creek .
We would find those quite often on the bank of the Trinity river in Ft. Worth.
Nice ammonites
Very kool
Thanks for watching
Way ta go on that biggie
Wow! Those are nice! Are you going to do any videos soon of finding shark teeth?
I guess I can. I know a good spot for that in Dallas area. Thank you so much for the support on Patron. I ll have your goodie box shipped out asap! Was kinda wanting fresh material from the crater but that could be 1-2 months out. Had for you to wait that dang long
Did you get the rest of the keel that broke off?
I’m curious - if these ammonites were cut apart are the chambers inside agatized?
Not likely from where these were found. Other locations yes, but very unlikely from these
Are they valuable? You are allowed to just dig them & take them home?
Do you ever find any flint when looking for fossils i am looking for for flint to buy
I have lots flint I’ll sell you from Washita tribe in Arkansas
Check out my Arrowhead hunting adventures from Mena. Find what you keep !
Do these fossils prep out smooth? Or are they textured like limestone? (A sanded texture)
I’m not really sure, I’ve never prepped one.
I didnt even KNOW ammonites were in Texas!!
Oh yeah!! Big ones!!!
New subscriber here , b3 cool to win it ! I'm in San Antonio trying to find good places to take my kids hounding and fossil hunting , where are you ?
They are all over the FORTH WORTH prairies that big but often are in a limestone matrix
That’s what i hear! Thanks for watching this adventure
What is the value of these pieces?
Oh they very. I’ve sold some for $30 up to $300.00
@ Ty
Pretty cool so about 1500 each for the big ones if not more you’re sitting high on the hog
For the ones with cracks, flawless Ammonite this size with that type of detail!! Priceless
Hi hi hi

Theo has plenty right where he is, and many there have ammolite. That's his favorite thing
@cynergy4 ah, you're correct, thanks
He couldn’t afford my rates to gather lol
Or she
what is this
It’s a fossil of some creature that once swim in the ancient oceans that once existed
That is a big old ammonite
They look as if suddenly entombed in dirt and mud. … like in a global flood.
This area was a mud flood. 30 Ft plus onto of the fossil bed in some areas
Good way to hid the pass
Was that a legless lizard crawling out?
Not sure!! Looked down and there it was lol
Ebay user name?
www.ebay.com/usr/diamond_miner_ivins
I hunt my ammonites by night
Because they shine by ammonite light.
mike corey youtube channel vlogs real alive giant clam beneath the sea or beach
Wow!! Thanks for the comment
Seems a little intrusive
Is there such a thing as a not pre-historic fossil? Besides Biden, that is. And would it be called a historic fossil? Again, Biden. 😅
😂😅
😂😂😂 true!!! ❤
Chump only 4 years younger
Ate up with the hate much?
