@@JohnVanderbeck the driver door opens automatically for you without pushing any buttons as you walk up to the door. The other doors and trunk open with some pushing of the key fob, don't have to touch the door buttons to get in or out. The future is now with this vehicle 😁
@@chrisstearns10 ahh gotcha now. Yeah I knew of that feature but my brain didn't make the connection :D I'm curious for owners how many actually use the auto opening driver door though? Seems to me it might be annoying, eg maybe it opens too slowly, or doesn't really register you as well as it should etc. The door system on the S actually seems like a step down from the 3/Y
I love talking with fellow supercharger people: They warned me that Tesla's are expensive, because you can't have just ONE! My wife now has a FSD Model S! My 2015 also averaged 283 Wh/mi (119 MPGe) for the first 13k miles in 3 months just by following trucks at max autopilot range, typically costing me only 15 more minutes over a 600 mile trips since I didn't need to charge as much.
Man, you really have a way with words. "The backseats of the Model S and me, we really didn't get along." Thanks. That alone improved my day by so much.

I got my X Plaid back in February replacing my old S. It is definitely the best car I've ever been inside of. The power is incredible. The comfort is exceptional. Luxurious and practical with kids in and out school and soccer and long trips to soccer games across the state. Supercharging has come a long way since my old S. Luckily we ordered when the price was about 15-20k less than it is today.

I save $400/month on gas and home electronics. I love how Tesla has combined most the options. I usually buy a new car every 2-3 years but nothing better out there. I love this vehicle. 8 year/unlimited mile battery. Still plenty of charge minimal battery degradation. I would buy another X. I bought the X over the S cuz of falcon doors. I own a Model 3 and a Porsche Panamera 4s(rarely driven smells petrochemical). I have owned lambos, Aston Martins, Maserati, and many Porsches. I was a gear head as a teenager with corvettes/motorcycles. I will never buy a gas car again. I can not control healthcare costs with retirement. I can control energy costs. I do have a Cybertruck on order but probably another Model X in a couple years. I have never kept a car longer than 4 years. I have a love affair with a quiet, stealthy, powerful low maintenance car. Tired of $3000/year checkups on Lambo or $1000/year checkup/oil change on Porsche. Gas cars are high maintenance. Never owned an EV for comparison. No oil filters in landfills. No petrochemical odors. Safest suv in the world! Keep things longer and recycle. Batteries can be recycled over and over. You burn gasoline. Gas cars 25% efficient so the other 75% of drilling oil, shipping, refineries, etc., thrown away and causing severe pollution. An EV is 90% efficient. Similar comparing an incandescent light to an led light. Tesla is a iPhone on wheels. How often do you need to have your iPhone checked or repaired. Most repairs by updates. 80% of repairs EV’s without a lift as only battery under car. Most parts plug and play. I can see why automakers do not like EV’s. Tesla spends its own money on superchargers which is baked into the msrp. Legacy automakers want taxpayers or private to take care of but in mean time pushing out EV cars. There maybe be profits in owning charging stations. Tesla Motor, Tesla energy, space x, boring company, Starlink all thinking of the future vs just today. Rare to have both a genius scientist/businessman. Glad our kids can look up to Elon, a household name, vs rappers, movie stars, and football players. Glad Elon making jobs in USA to increase the USA GDP vs other countries.
Just think if you bought a gas car today. In 5 years that gas car will have depreciated to nothing vs an EV. Who wants to buy old tech vs new tech. EV’s are catching on as fast as the iPhone/internet starting 2007.
Same here.. bought p100d model X in mid 2017. Best car ever and I hate driving ice cars now it’s more of a punishment then driving those due to no regen braking, I feel guilty pressing brakes for no reason. Don’t have solar yet but it’s next and cybertruck.
In Dec 2015 I purchased what I considered the best car, regardless of price, a new Model S. After over 204,000 miles (less than $1500 maintenance cost except for tires, plus my total electricity cost is $4.73 since I have free Supercharging and free charging at my highrise), I feel like I made a great choice. Now I am glad to get confirmation from Sandy that my new Model X that will be delivered in July (ordered last October) is now his favorite car on the planet.
How does it feel to buy tires every 20,000-25,000 miles. Doesn’t seem to green to me. Tesla is not the only vehicle that needs new tires that often. It doesn’t make sense to make a green vehicle that needs new tires every year or two.
@@gtjack9 I am on my 4th set of tires, so averaging over 50,000 miles on each set. I would argue that Efficiency is the real deal breaker. Tesla efficiency just saves so much money in the long run it's really not even a contest at that point.
Some projections, that have been almost right on til now, has them at 20K + in 2030-35, can't remember if it was post split or before. So it could be 4000 they mean, though that would also be before Robots was announced too then, so it might be low.
As a Henson shaver owner I appreciate that sandy appreciates them. It feels weird to see sandy do an ad spot but I watched the whole thing to see what he said about it. Thanks sandy :)
Excellent, hmm I used to be indecisive but now I'm not so sure. I was exactly like Sandy, preferred the S over anything until you made this little demo. How nice the X is when you just have a good practical look at it. I guess as one gets older the X would be easier to get in and out too. I would also go for long range over plaid, it's plenty fast and it comes with the yoke. You didn't mention that it comes in 5, 6 or 7 seat configurations, but most viewers would know that. Funny about the self opening front doors, Mercedes and BMW think they are special for having it, the X came out with it 7 years ago. The frunk; there's an idea for an aftermarket thingymabob; a plastic insert with a drain, which fits into whatever drain you can make without ruining the original frunk. At the end of the day I can't get neither an S nor an X as there is no Tesla Thailand, not yet anyway.
Think also the middle row was all the way back, which ofc you wouldn't do if you plan 3 rows of adults. I love the overall setup, the middle row has the side windows to look around and the 3rd how can easily look through the front window and not stare at the back of the 2nd row seats.
I love the personal bull direct honesty of Sandy and his team of engineers, their opinions to me a priceless and educational. The personal no bull direct honesty of Sandy and his team of incredible engineers, their opinion to me is priceless professional education. But I am MOST IMPRESSED with Sandy's engineering a wedding with that extremely intelligent Sue Monroe. 😉🇺🇸❤
Any problems? Our 2022 X delivered march30 has been in the shop over 5 weeks, and failed again 24 hours after we got it back. First, it was delivered with a broken windshield (stress crack from the mirror/cam area), within 48 hours the car had turn signal, safety restraint and backup cam failures. Once the car was fixed, the AC (climate control system) failed on our first road trip the very next day. Then Tesla made us fight to get a loaner!!! Lemon letter was sent 6 weeks ago, no response or options presented to date. We love the X, we just want it to work or be replaced. I’m told if they buy it back, we’ll need to get back into a long order queue!!! (We waited 15 months and had at least 7 delivery dates come and go before it was finally delivered). Also, the auto steer favors the left side of the lane and jerks to the left to intercept a left track when engaged. the GPS is so inaccurate that the car tried to stop in the center lane of I74 in NC with my wife and 2 kids in the car. Our car burned 540 watt/hours per mile, meaning the max range is 185 (not 340) minus the fact bottom 20% of the battery we're not supposed to use, leaving 150 mile range or about 2 hours driving. I’m a Tesla fanatic, I wish I could give better story or say they’re making it easy. It’s hard and painful. The service desk ignores questions in the mobile app chat and I’ve been hung up on by corporate. Not impressed. Signed, a Tesla lover!
Tesla Raleigh did ultimately give us a loaner X after Tesla corporate forced them to. There are several people I’ve spoken with in Raleigh that seem to be eager to remedy these issues. Complements to them. Unfortunately, numerous problematic employees are still Servicing customers from corporate, home or the service center that need remedial help or removal.
The (awesome) service manager (Tiffany) is back in Raleigh, thank goodness. She's going to pull in engineering to see what's up with our X, since it's now in it's 6th week in the shop (delivered Mar30!)
@@rogerstarkey5390 beautiful analogy. I’ve always been a fan of simple, streamlined user experience. So the subdued elegance or minimalism in buttons and such is a big win for me with Tesla.
About a month ago (turns out it was the day after this video was posted, though I only came across this vid today), I ordered a Model X similar to Chris’ configuration except that I got it with the standard black interior. As of today, the estimated delivery date is Dec 22 - Mar 23. I’m pretty sure it’ll be well worth the wait.
I agree with Chris: Everyone should steal the Lightening frunk system. I'm old, short and very tired of lifting stuff above my bellybutton to load and especially unload. And yes it is an extraordinary motor car.
What Sandy did not realize is that if you did that on this vehicle you would be hitting your head on the front fascia hanging down from the front of the hood. Go back and look at where his head is at while standing in front of it. And Sandy is a short guy.
@@davefroman4700 I looked at the opening scene and Sandy seems to hit the top of the X at his shoulders and the X is 66 inches high which puts him at comfortably six feet tall without cowboy boots. This problem could be addressed by a side door, vertical gate like a pick-up or another gull door solution ;~). I just happen to think the F150 Frunk is worth replicating. Most likely a ground up design decision.
Reminds me of my 1964 Corvair . It had a frunk in the front and living in Michigan we would go smelt fishing and fill the frunk with smelt and ice. Yes it had a drain hole..
That really changes my tune on the X. Chris should really “trust” you guys with the car for couple weeks. I sure will back mostly fine and a few extra parts.
When it comes to seats and shaving, Sandy has very discerning cheeks. I was a bit concerned, however, when he announced that he was preparing to expose himself! Sandy, you're my hero!!
@Munro Live, I have previously that exact thought about a drain plug in the frunk. The way I figured was you can either have a water proof tub or a drain but not both. You can cleany go from water proof to a drain (perhaps a cap from the hardware store or an aftermarket one if the kids are ambitious). It is not as easy or pretty to go in reverse. As is, it has more potential.
We just bought a used 2018 Model X, and it still has many of the same features as the new one. We spec'd out a new one with all the features we wanted, and then found this used one on the Tesla website used inventory for half the price! For the price it was a no brainer. Even used prices are starting to go up now, so we bought at the right time.
Starting to go up? Used prices are actually higher than new prices. Because there is a long wait to get the new car, they are pricing the Used cars the same or higher than new. That is the price for expediency.
@@ymcpa73 you must be looking at Model Y and 3. I bought the X, and that’s entirely different. A new X with my configuration is $130k, and we bought ours a few weeks ago for $75k. A bargain for everything that you get with it. Aside from the vertical screen and round steering wheel, it looks like a brand new one.

Bjørn imported one to Thailand.
Check his Thai specific site?
🤣That first sentence 👆🏼
the 2+2+2 is the way to go. the third row allows for you to put your foot in the aisle
Think also the middle row was all the way back, which ofc you wouldn't do if you plan 3 rows of adults. I love the overall setup, the middle row has the side windows to look around and the 3rd how can easily look through the front window and not stare at the back of the 2nd row seats.
The smoothest add Segway I’ve ever seen, I’m betting there will be a load of advertising boffins knocking on Sandy’s door.
That was the most wholesome advertisement I have ever seen.
This car is dope af 🔥🔥🔥 - and Sandy, you didn’t even drive the plaid!
Best razor advertisement ever! 😂
Wish I had the amount of money necessary to buy a Mercedes EQS because if I did, I would totally buy a Model X! 😂
'Subdued elegance' feels better than S, yes, why I got an X plaid and absolutely love it...
Big ups to Henson Shaving for sponsoring the show. Excellent job on the commercial guys! So good I watched it twice!
Unexpected collaboration. Haha Great to see you all in same screen. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
That shave was awesome.
Sandy you got me at the shave 🪒 commercial 🤣 🤣
Sandy and his team are so classy and professional at the same time.
Loved the ad!! Manned up and shaved 🪒 on camera 🎥
I think Sandy should do ASMR for engineers. I feel so chilled watching this and I'm not even an engineer 🤣
Cool sunglasses 🕶 Sandy
😎
The words your looking for to describe Tesla is “Simple Beauty”
It good to see Chris and Sandy collaborating.
Video is great but the signed Sandy bobble head will priceless!
Sandy, thank you guys for the video! Praise the cameraman ;)
Our pleasure!
that shave promo was top notch
Sandy needs to do more commercials. Love it!!
amazing car throughout.
Bought the Henson! Can't wait to try it
Great sponsor segment for sure 😂👍
The best
Yep. What a nice car. Good value, too.
I have a Plaid X. It's insanely the best! Glad to hear Sandy likes the X also.
Love Tesla
I absolutely love Sandy’s excitement when he sees the yoke 🤣 and subdued elegance, I love that description.
It's a Bang & Olufsen Hi-fi vs Sony.
The "bells and whistles" are there, but not shouting.
@@rogerstarkey5390 beautiful analogy. I’ve always been a fan of simple, streamlined user experience. So the subdued elegance or minimalism in buttons and such is a big win for me with Tesla.
Those mirrors on Sandy's face are awesome!
4:40 This cracked me open!
YEEEESSSSSS! You know your youtube channel is a success when you start doing shaver ads!
woohoo!!!
Reminds me of my 1964 Corvair . It had a frunk in the front and living in Michigan we would go smelt fishing and fill the frunk with smelt and ice. Yes it had a drain hole..
Wonderful car! Subdued elegance is a perfect way to describe it.
Lol Sandy's shades
"The Arbiter"
That razor got the Mrs. Munro Seal of Approval..................I´m buying one.
My Model 3 still gets up and goes even at 80
That really changes my tune on the X. Chris should really “trust” you guys with the car for couple weeks. I sure will back mostly fine and a few extra parts.
When it comes to seats and shaving, Sandy has very discerning cheeks. I was a bit concerned, however, when he announced that he was preparing to expose himself! Sandy, you're my hero!!
the best car ever for me : X PLAID
@Munro Live, I have previously that exact thought about a drain plug in the frunk. The way I figured was you can either have a water proof tub or a drain but not both. You can cleany go from water proof to a drain (perhaps a cap from the hardware store or an aftermarket one if the kids are ambitious). It is not as easy or pretty to go in reverse. As is, it has more potential.
I would like to see Ms Sue's point of view on this...the MB was certainly a nice car as well..thanks for the review, I've never seen one on this car.
How many times do you get to see excited about a car were his voice goes up 3 octaves! lol! He's a national treasure!
I generally hate advertising, but man, that was the best ad I've ever seen
Tesla does not have a PR or Market department.
@@markplott4820 ?
@@markplott4820 He was referring to the shaving kit section.
@@AllanSustainabilityFan oh😋
Sandy knows a good thing when he sees one
We have a Model X and the best way to raise the 3rd row is reach through from the side door opening. Very easy.
… and Sandy signed it 🖊 😉
I love that razor!
Sandy and his wife! So cute!!
My dream car😍
Are THOSE aviator 😎
Chris needed to get Sandy to sign a waiver explicitly stating no disassembly would occur. Haha
Who needs Salesmen___Tesla has Chris!
Sandy out kicked the coverage😁
Munro Live and Dirty Tesla……..doesn’t get much better………..AND I found a new razor😎
