Great seeing the old footage of Might and Power win the Caulfield Cup. I was at the Watsons Bay Hotel and it's still the best win I've had in that race. Great memories. 10 - 1 too.
I made so much money backing Jimmys mounts when he rode for Mr Campbell. He usually paid around 10 to 1 and led all the way. To hear the Peter Kelly call..."but J A Cassidy....a clearcut leader by 3 lengths as they turn for home" to hear that was to get excited and he always won easily. Thanks bra.
Sure hes a " colourful character" but he can mix with people from all walks of life, he was one of the greatest jockeys ever to throw a leg over one, nerves of steel and as illustrated by the story at the end of the interview hes a pretty good caring bloke aswell. Great man The Pumper
I remember there a few years ago now Backing Rough Hablt in the Stradbroke .Everyone there Laughed.at me Ore.he.won,t Beat.Schallaci they said Rough Habit there ended up Winning 14 to 1 there he payed l had $20 each way there on him and collected about $340 Off him
