I feel like it is a rare privilege to even get to see these videos, let alone on any schedule. People need to stay respectful, grateful and most of all, appreciative. Thank you for letting us look in on the wonderful things you are able to create!
You're absolutely right, I totally agree, as long as Clarke releases videos every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9am sharp. And don't forget the thumbnail with a buxom girl posing. Easy peasey, right?
I just wish to my name forwards if'n this channel needs a viewer to Review any buxom, comely and delightful younger ladies. All in the best possible taste, I assure you. In the interests of Science and good manners obviously.@@Bob_Adkins
Been watching all three channels for a long time. You, Keith and Sampson Tally Ho. Been watching the rebuild of the boat then Keith which I found you from watching Keith. my three favorite channels. Just to prove that greatness a tracks greatness. ❤
I've been following Leo in his rebuilding of the "Tally Ho" for over a year (I went back to #1 and binge watched every episode) I've been a Fan of Kieth Rucker and Windy Hill Foundry for a couple of yers now. Looking forward to this pouring, and the work Kieth will be doing on his Monarch 10EE lathe… Loving all of it!
I have been watching Leo restore (rebuild from keel up) Talley Ho almost since he started years ago. The fact that the Talley Ho capstan cover is being forged less than a half an hour away (I live at the Reservoir in Fannin) is amazing! I have watched a bunch of your videos after finding you from the links in the Talley Ho rebuild. Would love to watch you casting.
Haha, were people really freaking out? I got a kick out of it. I hope the news story brings you and the other collaborators more views. And more business!
Now I thought I was the only one that had discovered the holy trinity of Clarke, Keith and Leo! Seems I am not alone :-) Looking forward to this one, it seems to me the biggest casting since I've been watching WHF which isn't that long (~3 years).
please sir ..........thank you soooo much and your colleagues too for taking the time out for this project ........all of us who follow all the Leo and 'Tally Ho' are grateful..........Truly thank you
It is amazing to watch the whole process. It is an art form to get the metal to behave how you want and all the things you take into account. Traditional engineering is just as hi tech as modern cnc engineering .
still very exciting to me it was a little teaser but I want to see whole process I need to scratch that itch that wants to know all the steps and see a master turn a pattern into a real piece I know it can't be a simple as pouring liquid metal into a mold it's something that needs to be passed on to younger generations that being said Love your work!!!!
Yeah I saw a rough edge for half a second in the news item and thought maybe it would have to be chalked up to practice 😊. All good! Bless you and Keith and the Pattern Guy for taking this on and shooting for excellence.
I saw the other video and like anyone who watches you, I knew it was not that easy and it whetted my appetite to see the full story. You are doing great to be only 2 weeks behind real time. Keep that metal flowing!
Thanks for the update, and yes I saw the flaws in it. I been on the news a was misquoted so there’s that. Your lineup pens are hurting your process. Stay safe.
With such a complex subject I, as an old Brit, would never call you out on a method of construction that’s been effectively replaced by modern mas production. There’re a huge difference between doing castings as a one off (think pre-industrial revolution days) and trying to replicate the skills and knowledge that are centuries old and often forgotten. You should take enormous pride in even attempting this stuff on camera (edited or not) because there’s an awful amount of work that is involved. Unfortunately Gen-Z and their ilk will never know what actual hard work is as they become so reliant on 3-D printing. That’s not to say that 3-D printing is a bad thing, it’s just one method of many that achieves a specific result. The 3-D printing might work for mass production of items but it seems short sighted to forget the original methods that allowed this forerunner. What happens is 3-D printing is no longer possible? Refer to some Pakistani engineers (that are incredible to watch) or try to keep lost wax/sand mould methods alive no matter how niche they might seem?
Thank you very much for the explanation and I love detailed explanations on the process. It will be a shame when this art is lost. Who knew all that math would come in handy. 😂
look into Alphaset a phenolic resin bonded sand. It is Pricy, but look into my 11 part mold and 100 pound iron pour. best parts, zero moisture and no draft needed. excellent for thin-walled castings
Others may have commented on this but the YOUTube computer figured out that I watch you videos and matched this interest with the broadcast so the news item showed up in my feed. I suspect that this is why the views exploded
I found the video. I wont link it myself in case you have any reservations against it. But it looks like everyone helping is really excited about the Capstan project. Keep up the great work. I can't wait to see the completed casting.
Well hells bells I though all it took was a box of sand that the cat poop was cleaned out of and a Bernzomatic torch and it would be golden.. come on man
J'ai découvert votre chaîne récemment, votre activité m'intéresse beaucoup. Par contre je ne comprends pas l'anglais, il est possible d'avoir des sous titres en français ? Merci et bonne continuation.
I did see the other video on the capstand but i did not watch it because it is not on your channel. You're channel is the only casting content i watch on yt i have seen others but i like yours best. Keep up the great work.... CHEERS from aus.
Lies, lies, lies. The truth of the matter is that there is a time warp distorting the cosmic constant using quantum fluctuations in the flux capacitor to bring the future into the past. 😎 (the smiley face is for those people that have issues)
I'm still wondering why someone in Jackson can't find your place using a GPS! You alright Clark, I think we all understand you're just about a one man band.

Looking forward to the official Windy Hill production. Thanks for the update Clarke.
Thanks for setting the record straight. I really appreciate your contribution towards getting Tally Ho back on the high seas.
Just heartwarming the whole thing. Take the time you need.
It’s absolutely wonderful that Windy Hill Foundry got on the news! Looking forward to the regularly scheduled videos from WHF. Congratulations!
No worries Clarke, a news video is just that!
With these things, they're ready when they are. Cheers to you.
Been watching all three channels for a long time. You, Keith and Sampson Tally Ho. Been watching the rebuild of the boat then Keith which I found you from watching Keith. my three favorite channels. Just to prove that greatness a tracks greatness. ❤
Don’t forget “Dave Clark the Pattern Guy.” He made the pattern for casting on his RUclips channel
Thanks for the update Mr Clark.

No pressure then!! Thank you for letting us all know and we are very grateful to you.

I am guessing the reason Keith is working on that giant lathe is to work on the capstan.
Thanks for the update 👍😎👍
Clark, you are a stand up guy. Putting this out to explain things shows how dedicated you are to your craft and your viewers.
Thanks for the update. I posted the news reel on the Leo's fb page. i labeled it a sneak preview. Those 8000 views might be my fault. lol
Still... Seeing the news crew film at Windy Hill AND the Tally Ho Capstan project was a lovely surprise.
it was still cool to see it being worked on!
Hanging for the Video, Thanks for the update!!
Looking forward to it.. fantastic that you are working with the Tally Ho folk
We know it is only your videos that we are interested in ,love the work ,great to see a master in his foundry creating a work of art.
Much respect for your candor and professionalism. And an equal amount of gratitude for this content.
Thanks, Clarke. All in good time! ❤
The news reel popped up on my feed and I was actually quite excited to see something that I wasn't supposed to, yet.
I figured as much. But when I first saw the news blip I was surprised! Thanks for the update.
Glad to see your videos when they come out
Yippee Aye Oh Kye Aye!
Good job on the update. Thank You!
Thank you for the update ! Stay safe out there. Cheers
Thanks Clark.....

Thanks for the update Clarke!
Looking forward to see how a capstan is casted!
It's just 'cast'. 'Casted' is something else entirety!
@@burlatsdemontaigne6147 - And rating a casting is NOT referred to as castrating. :D
Good one!@@DrFiero

Thanks for the update Clark.

For all your (and Josie) work (and you as a person) : 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Keep up the good work. An old saying in the Air Force, and probably other places was; “you can have it half a$$ed, or half fast”.
Thanks for the update - Take your time, be safe and do it right.😄
I wondered about this whole thing! Cant wait to see the whole video! It was a good teaser and only that! Great stuff man!
still very exciting to me it was a little teaser but I want to see whole process I need to scratch that itch that wants to know all the steps and see a master turn a pattern into a real piece I know it can't be a simple as pouring liquid metal into a mold it's something that needs to be passed on to younger generations that being said Love your work!!!!
Bless you, Clarke - I am glad that you are being featured on local news, and I wish you best of luck with the final casting!
I figured as much based on your commitment to producing a quality product you would be proud to put your name on.
Hey man It’s just awesome you were on the news. Can’t wait for your video to come out.
“Good things come to those who wait.” 👍✨
lol "preview trailer" no spoilers looking forward to the actual feature length production.
Thanks for the information. I WAS very curious about that vid.
Yeah I saw a rough edge for half a second in the news item and thought maybe it would have to be chalked up to practice 😊. All good! Bless you and Keith and the Pattern Guy for taking this on and shooting for excellence.
Thanks for the update.🙂🙂
People can’t wait… 😂😂😂
looking forward to your video, thanks!
I saw it. It was just a tease to get us ready for your videos. Don't worry about it.
Saw the post from 12 was wondering about it thanks for the update.
Thanks for the update Clarke.
I was not sure but it looked like a fair casting I be looking forward to seeing the final casting you do
I saw the other video and like anyone who watches you, I knew it was not that easy and it whetted my appetite to see the full story. You are doing great to be only 2 weeks behind real time. Keep that metal flowing!
I also saw it. Thanks for the update Clark. Its going to be epic.
Thanks for the update!
Must be frustrating. Good job though. Can't wait!
26,000 subscribers. 14,000 views in 7 hours. Something tells me more of your viewers should subscribe. 💪
Thanks for working on this project.
We can wait, do it right and do it safe!
Cheers good luck with the casting
Hi Clarke, we don't get that tv channel here in Australia. Take care.
Thanks for the update, and yes I saw the flaws in it. I been on the news a was misquoted so there’s that. Your lineup pens are hurting your process. Stay safe.
I saw the news video and was wondering if it was finished, can's wait to see it when it gets done.
Do you allow visitors/helpers? I am a blacksmith, and I cast small things, but old love to see/help it
A good cast will always be better than a dozen bad casts. You have the ability to make a bad cast melt away and turn into a perfect cast.👍🏻🇺🇲
You're always the best Clarke
Don’t worry about it. I never watched the news anyways. Look forward to your next video.

Thanks Guys
I seen the news video, 😊👍🏻
You take your time to do it right, even if it takes a couple of test runs to get it right.
kinda figured it was a practice run.

Can you add the link to the local news story in the description? It would be fun to see it :)

You mean you DO NOT have an entire production team to schedule, film, edit and publish your episodes?!
Oh the horror!
The news reel has 17,000 views, every one of their other stories has 50-300 views. Something maybe they should pay a little attention to.
J'ai découvert votre chaîne récemment, votre activité m'intéresse beaucoup. Par contre je ne comprends pas l'anglais, il est possible d'avoir des sous titres en français ? Merci et bonne continuation.

What is a "capstand"??
@@paulcopeland9035 is that not what this part is called? that's what it sounded like to me, im not a boat person.
Will the final capstan casting be in bronze?

Gee 28 thousand views😅 too cool man
So what was wrong with the news story casting?
So that capstan is gonna be cast iron? Huh. Not sure why, but I thought it would be cast in bronze.
I think Iron grips rope better, bronze tends to polish with use. I could be wrong, but all the capstans I've used when mooring ships have been iron.
Sorry to hear that the first casting didn't go well, but I guess it's "just one of those things" that you're accustomed to at this point.
Lol
I'm still wondering why someone in Jackson can't find your place using a GPS! You alright Clark, I think we all understand you're just about a one man band.
Well, one man and one woman anyway....
apologies for my comment ......
Not even a look at the bad one?
