Anyone else notice how Adult Timmy has a million bottles of prescription meds? Like that's how he's avoided mutating already?
Could be I feel like it could be more about mental problems he’s having because I don’t think there are meds that halt mutations, but they defiantly indicate a toxic situation in his life !
He also has soda cans maybe this is the kind of diet he has because of his mutation
Well the meds could be helping to hold back the mutations and the side effects/symptoms however there is obviously some reason possibly genetic that he hasn’t seen the full extent of the mutations yet and diet has the ability to switch on and off genes so it’s not that “fucking retarded”

I love how the developers of the game let you discover and complete the story at your own pace and discover everything yourself, not through forced progression and cutscenes.
It’s interesting you can just build and have fun for hours or play the story! It’s a neat Mechanic
Definitely, to be honest when I first started I had no clue how to progress the story at first (I played it very young) and I was too scared to go into the caves, but now I am extremely grateful this game doesn’t force feed you information and progress. Makes it feel more realistic as a survival game.
Kind of like in Rain World 2d survival platformer. Story is in background your choice to do it. The game doesn’t tell you how to beat it you can beat the game with no story.
I doubt anyone will see this but when he says that the missionaries may have joined the mutants and became cannibals i agree with this one because in one of the caves you walk in on two cannibals praying next to a fire

The forest is just basically mutants and cannibals watching a grown man running around with organs strapped to his body holding a light and mowing down their ranks with nothing but a axe and bow meanwhile building the biggest fortress they have ever seen all while eating their family. Truly inspiring

Interesting. When I finished the game it was a different ending. It was in early development then, wasn’t a finished game yet. Timmy had the seizure on the stage of the show and then turns into the same thing as the girl did and then it ended. Funny how things change.
Yeah I think it’s mostly because they want to explore his character in the sequel Sons of the Forest!

Ah, yes. 12:29. I too am guilty of just sitting there, bashing cadavers repeatedly with a blank stare in my eyes. The type of stare you get only after being in the forest for months on end. Cutting thousands of trees to the ground, developing trust issues eating from deceitful berry bushes. Running around naked and cold, looking for the mythological raccoon. Going on camping trips with wooden figures made from logs and sticks, resembling my distant family. Murdering hundreds of screaming babies. Wearing the flesh of victims ALL IN SELF DEFENCE! Eating random people’s prescription drugs. Riding turtle shells into buttholes... You know, forest stuff.

It's kinda sad, he just wanted to save his daughter, even tho it's the in most sickening way he still cared, but he was still going insane with all the experiments, who knows what was going through his head.

Kyle Hickman yes certain cannibals will kneel to the red cannibal. The skinnies, the pale ones and cave dwellers will kneel. The late game tribes (the ones with crosses and the ones who wear skinned heads over their own) I’m not so sure about. ATTACK says that the red cannibals are a tribe of their own but because of the kneeling, I believe there is only one red cannibal (Dr. Cross) who was able to establish himself as an alpha of sorts. This would explain why you only see the red cannibal by himself (on the yacht).
Edit: Can confirm that late game tribes will kneel. I just think they have a lower chance of doing so than the skinnies, pales and cave dwellers.
I remember the ending of The Forest being quite different, I remember the ending being them on the talk show and Timmy fully transforms with Eric stepping in to kill the monster his son had become.

I just recently played this game with a few friends and we went through the story but we were all confused by it. I'm going to share this with my buds because this helped understand quite a lot!

This game is such an impressive feat. 5 or so years of constant, dedicated and passionate development by a small team of devs. And as of today the game is absolutely awesome. Ive seen alot about this game during development on pc and recently ive had the pleasure of playing it on ps4.
Great video by the way 👍 however i do agree with the majority of the comments saying that you could have shown what you were talking about in the vid, its just more helpful and better to look at rather than random gameplay. I do understand that that takes alot of editing so it wasnt that much of a problem, i still enjoyed the vid 😁👍❤
Yeah, I agree its actually quite underrated, I love that they are still updating it with new content such as the gliders and ships wreaks added in the last update.
I really like the game has been able to grow and I really think more people should find it and have a go!
And of course, I will be continuing to improve my content as time goes on so i will be taking on as much feedback as possible, so glad you enjoyed !!

I think the the red man actually takes a while after the character wakes up to get to the facility as you can see him and find drawings off him and the son around the island.

i love this game so much. When me and my friends first got to the end and started seeing tiles and actual walls it felt so weird like we were genuinely as confused as our characters. We've been surrounded by trees for so long that we see walls and tiles and glass panels etc as something that you don't see everyday lmao. It was a really overwhelming and confusing experience but it was a really good one. 10/10 amazing game.
i agree with some other comments, the occasional stutters and mistakes you make when telling this story make it feel so much more genuine. good work tho chief.

VEGETARIANMODE
same fame but the cannibles only come out at night.
3:
VEGAN MODE
NO CANNIBALS WHATSOEVER. JUST A RELAXING SURVIVALGAME
There is, I can only play on that mode cuz I died on the first day on normal.
When you start playing the game 2 years after it comes out and are EXTREMELY interested in the lore.

A side note, the book you use is likely for Timmy. Furthermore, if you looked at the third person view of another player using this book, instead of seeing what the player is looking at, you will see "For Timmy" on blank pages in the center.

I always thought the story was a cycle of crashing the planes and using the kids and you could choose to continue it or to break it, but now i realise there only is 1 plane so it might be a beginning of a cycle.
And by the way, this new movie The Lazarus effect makes me thing of megan cross and her father
Yeah that’s very much what it is the being to a long cycle that start with the ending to the game of the forest it’s pretty interesting if you think about it !
originally it was multiple planes and u could survive and bring timmy back to the mainland then go on a tv show but he would mutate note the weapon used to be and emp sort of beam where it would take control of the planes then forced them down - and after multiple attempts they finally got it right to be able to save 1 child on the plane or somethings very close to 100% chance to save 1 kid

Maybe Timmy was frequently having these kind of tremors to the extent of him finding out the very reason that caused it. That *maybe* would explain why he's having himself living in an apartment. And he would be obsessed of the events which happened on the peninsula, leading him to perform research and discoveries as of the project to maybe put an end to his neverending tremors and seizures. So that bit in the end might not be his mutation demise. I don't know, it's just my prediction. What do you guys think?
yeah I actually agree with you there I would say that he has them quite frequently and that it has driven him to an obsession in discovering the truth about what happened to him and how to solve it, maybe even the some of the information he has discovered came from implanted memories that he obtained from the artifact during his resurection?! who knows
The mutation must be a psychological thing. The little girl drew things, knew things, and seemingly had an emotional breakdown. But Timmy on the other hand has no memory and doesn’t know “things” like the girl did. It also appears he is able to control his emotions.
Yeah well i would think there is a lot of randomness between who mutates into what and why.
@@ProjectArchivistYT possibly body type, type of illness *they were experimenting on them for a reason, probably terminal illness cures* mental stability, etc. Megan was paralyzed as seen by her in a wheelchair, and probably going through emotional trauma from the divorce and her mother's death. So when she got turned, it gave her enhanced and more legs to move around with. And made her stuff come from inside *maybe referencing the amount of internal pain she was feeling?* timmy was mostly ok following thomas shown by the drawings he has and also suffering like Megan as well at the time with his mother having died recently. But he died for a lesser or longer period of time to, depending on when you get to him/when thomas actually shanked him in the obelisk. So maybe it'd easier for him to restrain himself, and if he turned he might turn into a stronger, more intelligent creature (kinda like if the tank from lfd and fallen survivor infected from the passing campaign were combined into one) this is just my theory though, a GAME THEORY 🟢🏆

I am in 2020 of course as you guys are but the map at the end when Timmy is in the apartment, that map is the map of the second game "sons of the forest". in the second game the trailer looks like your, not by yourself, so there are teammates from our modern world as are in the game. The second game is a little different, like scarier threats, modern technology and more. but you still start with an axe but a more modern one I would tell you the beginning but I do not want to spoil it. there's no telling when the second game will come out.

I watch a lot of people play the game. at the end of this lore series where you said Timmy is in his apartment there's a map, I think that's is the map of the second game cause it is not the map of the first one. I am not completely sure. Anyway, I think you play as Timmy in the second one but Timmy is just older and joined the military, I do think Timmy wants to find out what, where and how it happened, (mutating). I feel really bad for Megan, she died brutally, only to be brought back to become a rage-prone monster and killed again by a desperate father similar to her own. Meanwhile, Timmy gets a happy ending..for now. Maybe we'll see more of Timmy in Sons of the Forest 🤷

Thank you for this ! Yesterday I accidentaly finished the game with a friend after we ziplined into the sinkhole for the machete (damn you wiki). We then entered the cave there then the lab and after destroying the plane , we got the ending. Realy fun finale for a great game

The new update features an old sunken ship that is very likely how the missionaries came to the island
Yeah okay I could get a video together on the full story of the missionaries and the sinkhole, and eventually when the update for the game comes out with the ship which as +NTL 389 said is probably the mode of transport the missionaries used I can include that in the video !!

Dragon Dude1 and bearpg, the helicopter is theoriesed to be the copter megan arrives in and to be the reason why she is in the wheelchair.
tho this is not a fact stated by the devs it is a theory i have read many times by now

I never expected from this game a well written story and narrative.
Probably isn't the best at it, but keeping the open world gameplay out of the story missions and make it absolutely optional, this game has done it best imo.
Yeah it really is an under appericaited game that deserves a high budget sequel !
Clearly those missionaries that are dead all across island, were probably the first European explorers to discover the peninsula somewhere off the coast of Canada or the US

i remember playing this the very first day it launched on early access, its wild to see how much was changed and a lot for the better too.
the one thing i can remember however was the red man used to just be like a regular mutant, except his "jungle skirt" was made out of old phone cables and such.
it was kind of neat, hate that they gave him all that red paint and just some generic shorts.

My dumbass friend and I went into the game foolishly thinking it was a run of the mill horror survival like devour. We were baffled by the twenty dollars but boy, were we wrong. Died literally 25 times within the first hour and a half thinking the canibals weren’t the main enemy too, Jesus Christ. But seriously, the lore of this story was not at all expected, I thought it’d be similar to a story like “The decent”. Thank u for the video man, will definitely be helping on our second play thorough. Can’t wait for the second game to come out ;)

Not really, this is my favourite game so far, because now, thanks to you I understand how genius the stroyline is. And this is also the first game I played with such a complicated storyline. But, if The Forest 2 comes out, I'd love to see you make a video about it too, just like this one.

the story actually surprised me, i saw videos about the forest so long ago, but i didn't know that the story behind timmy disappearing was so sad, that u have to decide between taking many human life's, "just" for your own son, not knowing that he'd suffer like megan, cause of the mutation, if u actually sacrifice the passengers on the plane. You explained that so well. also, i really liked your voice, it was calm and fitted in so well with the background music. It was the first kind of Story video, that i could watch without skipping any parts. could u tell me how the Video is called from the first music u picked? i couldn't find it. the reason megan points at you and attacks you is cause you have been using red paint yourself all the game and at the end you have used some more red paint inside the facility. Megan attacks you because you look like her father and she dosent like him now does she
