Just been checking out the highlights of Odobert. I think he replaces Kulu as a right winger and competes with Johnson. Kulu will be moved inside and compete with Maddison. He’s a pacy winger who can take on him man down the line… but also looks like he could play off the left to cut in for shots if needed.
Odobert is 19 and played a full season for Burnley. Spurs do not need add him in PL squad list for 2 seasons. After 2 seasons he get homegrown player status in PL. Players with homegrown status have higher transfer value in PL.
I think so - Ange normally makes Awesome purchases, at Celtic everyone he brought in was great ! But I do think Ange got a couple of players at Spurs that haven't lived up to what Ange hoped - Werner & Johnson.

There is usually a price to pay for that, and our defence will let us down again next season due to how ange plays the holding mids and fullbacks, and who he has kept as defensive coach.

Going into this summer going off the biggest problemn areas last season spurs needed: 1) To ditch Mile Jedinak as defensive coach after the horrendous job he done last season, where basic problems werent dealt with week after week, and we had one of our worst defensive seasons in decades with one of our best backlines, player for player. That hasnt been done. 2) We desperately needed a beast of a CDM who can be a commanding presence in midfield, pass well, organize the midfield and fullbacks defensively and slot in at CB on set pieces. That has not been done and Gray is a Right Back who played 75% of last season as a right back and Ange has even stated he sees as a right back. Ange prioritizes attacking qualities over defensive qualities in his holding mids and his fullbacks, leaving the 2 CBs as the only two outfield players that are there primarily to defend. That is a big part in why conceded so many last season and why we wont kick on or progress in cup comps under Ange regardless of the quality we have in personel. 3) We needed a CF. IMO that has been done well and Solanke would have been around the top of my list to bring in there. 4) We needed genuine cover and competition for Maddison, ideally a true central 10 (where maddison is a repurposed wide 10 who often looks anonymous in the centre and thrives in space, that doesnt exist in the centre). This has not been addressed and Maddison will miss his standard 2 or 3 months of the season, aswell as having to come off 60 or 70 minutes into games, leaving us with probably Kulu or Bergvall as our only makeshift options to cover. I think that is overly optimistic. 5) Either a LB and LCB or a player such as Calafiori that play both roles well. 6) A squad replacement for Emerson if Emerson left - Ange has done this with Gray/Spence and we are yet to see how that will work out. IMO Ange has signed 4 teenagers to perpetuate his excuses "We've got a young squad mate" "Its a long project mate" "I had a massive job when I came in mate" "I lost Harry Kane mate". One thing that worried me about Ange signing more one dimensional pace merchants this summer was what Ange did last season that showed tactical ineptitude. Ange kept playing Werner and Johnson against low block defences, even when it clearly wouldnt work because pace merchants are generally useless against low blocks, as the low block's purpose is to close down space around the goal and to stop runners getting behind. It's intelligent creative players and top finishers that are most effective against low blocks because they keep possession in the final third, keep the ball moving and keep probing the opposition defence for weak points and quality key passes or shooting opportunities. Ange dropped 23 points last season to low block teams considerably behind us, aswell as getting knocked out of the league cup by fulham (who also humiliated us 3-0 in the league), and we struggled both games against luton and were losing to sheffield until like the 96th minute on top of that. Ange's preferred pace merchants are exactly what jose played (creative mid only ever in the centre and only ever pace merchants out wide) and comes unstuck in the same games jose come unstuck in. So it was always a worry for Ange to sign multiple layers of the same attacking style that comes unstuck against a certain type of opposition, we will continue to drop points against low blocks next season as Ange's billy basic attacking plays are predictable and were worked out by the league last season.' Bentancur was definitely a top quality player but Ange has got nothing ot of him so far, whilst players like Maddison, Porro and Kulu also dropped off a cliff when ange was playing timo in the second half of last season. I had my standard bet on spurs for the league this season but am realistic that it will likely be a season of turmoil and managerial change when we realise ange is out of his depth.

@@enricobrik3074 I think Odobert is as much a Maddison backup as a Son backup as he often played as a 10. Which is a position we needed. He can also play RW and offer a different style to Johnson/Kulu
