Many congratulations! And a word of acknowledgement to the sound engineers... What an amazing job they did in capturing the nuances of this stunning performance!
The cameraman likes to capture the chemistry in the trombone section. there's this guy who keeps looking at his partner almost after every other passage, and not only during this piece.
Seeing a version of this performed on the football field in Marching Band was magical, this piece is one of my favorites of all time and is a pleasure to play (though I've only played it in concert as the lead baritone horn.)
Sad to think about the fact that I’ll probably going to go through my whole without getting a chance to play such breath taking piece with a VERY nice ensemble like this.l
One of the toughest scores I used to play in college. de Meij's works are not easy to play. Tell me this does not capture the essence of New York. I literally prayed as hard as I could to avoid playing this piece but our music director insisted on this. I remember one of my mates crying because his trombone weren't up to his standards. Let alone my percussion section. The mallets and timpani were nightmares.
Well, I came here off the back of John Adams "City Noir" and this is already sounding similar to Adams "Short ride in a fast machine" No problem at all. Just superb!!

Ads in the middle of such a masterpiece should be illegal

Love this work and this is the best recording of it by a long way. Bravo!!!
You can see the English Horn player praying and I was right there praying with her
I enjoyed every second of this performance, awesome composer and an incredible orchestra!
Très chouette cet orchestre, quel niveau !!!
Wow! What a performance!

I played this when I marched Drum corps. The majesty of 10:56 is why I fell in love with this music.
Very nice

Bassoon Power!!
I sensed there's influence from Le Sacre du Printemps in the 3rd movement...
Bravi!
Pretty cool; rather different from Lord of the Rings. I would have mistaken it for John Adams if I hadn't known the composer.

Artística de Buñol please
Gustavo Lopez the uglys????
Me gusta más la interpretación de Buñol, pero ésta es muy buena. Curioso que aquí no hagan el crescendo de las trompetas antes del finale.
that first movement appears just a little stolen from john adams.
