    Great video I wish I seen it before I installed a Cummins air compressor on a 93 international came with no gaskets used silicone and blocked an oil passage which caused it to piss oil had to get gasket paper and make my own gaskets and that's when I found that I had clogged an oil passage

    Detroit Series 60 on a 2004 Coronado.
    I'm getting a small air pressure on a split hose that comes from the air cleaner.
    I'm thinking it's the one way check valve on one of the intake valves?
    Builds air very slowly.
    What say you sir?

    break in, open up wet tank(supply tank), let it run under 80 psi for 20 minutes without unload it, check leaks.

    Thanks for the information, Is there any additional procedures that need to be followed one a compressor that's putting oil into the air system has been replaced. My system does not have an air dryer (1988) is all the oil contained in the primary air tank, or done it contaminate any air controlled. throttle, shifter, and air governer? if so recommended cleaning procedure?

      The main reason for oil pumping is a worn out compressor so once the compressor is replaced you must be sure that the discharge line going to the first air tank or the wet tank is replaced as this line will fill with carbon over time from the old compressor and be sure the intake hose or filter is in good shape. Being that this unit is 1988, chances are you have a filter which will need to be replaced. If these things are not done your new compressor could run hot and pump oil….The air dryer should be mounted about 10 to 12 feet away from the compressor and it is a must on all air systems otherwise your air system will get contaminates into other components. The air dryer is the best investment you can make in an air system, it is like the oil filter in your engine. You should still drain your air tanks daily to get rid of any moisture or contaminates the dryer does not catch. Once the oil gets past your air tank into other components like air chambers and air valves there is nothing you can do other then change the defective parts out as they fail.

    Hello I'm in need of help...
    I'm seeking a compressor for a Mack midliner with a Renault engine...
    The compressor is a knorr bremse 75mm belt driven one but I can't get it anywhere ... Been looking everywhere for 3 years ...
    Can any other truck compressor be used ... Is there any other brand that is single piston and belt driven

      It depends on several variables but estimated time to change the air compressor is 4-6 hours.

    i have a 2006 kendword ISM Cummins engine and have coolant leaking from my air driyer already replace the air driyer but i think i have a crack head on my air compressor any help will be apritiaded

      I would change the head on your compressor if it is cracked. Coolant might be getting into the air line due to this issue.

      I know this is late, but for anybody else, mine used to do that. I’d warm my governor up with a heat gun and it would build air. Changing my governor fixed that problem in my case.
