Great stuff, and it did last along time, it was hard as a rock when you got it ,so it would break into pieces, if you put it in the hot summer sun it would soften up. i remember buying it with the old and new lable too. late 1950's and all of the 1960's.
BULLETIN!......They just started making Bonomo Turkish Taffy again! Google it. I found some in my local store. Just as good as I remember. My kids couldn't understand why I was so excited, until they tasted it.
I first encountered this substance in Connecticut in 1968; I believe it was sold only on the east coast. I thought it was horrible stuff. It was like a white bathroom tile, particularly when you broke it.

I'm from CT, and we did have it at our corner store. Loved it! I wouldn't dare try it today as it will likely dismantle any dental work..
This stuff was brutal if you had a lot of dental fillings.
