I've just started watching your videos and felt compelled to comment as I have been enjoying them SO much! I ACTUALLY DID...EXACTLY WHAT YOU DO...FOR OVER 35 YEARS! Yep...over three decades. I started "booting" in 1982 actually. I have literally walked around PROBABLY A THOUSAND boot sales! I originally started off selling at antique markets in and around London, like Bermondsey and Portobello. Did that for over probably 20 years. Selling just my boot sale buys. Then in 2002 I started an Ebay shop, from which I sold to all over the world. I have literally sent hundreds of parcels to all corners of the globe. Had a very good living out of it until about 2017, when my knees finally gave way and I had to have both knees replaced. For years and years, I would tramp around up to 4 boots on a Saturday, up to 10 on a Sunday, and several throughout the week. Exactly the same as you do...back and forth to the car...over and over again. In the end...my knees just crumbled by the time I hit my late 50s, and I was never the same after that. Completely retired from it now. Havnt been to a bootie in about 4 years. But...I miss it SO MUCH! I just can't physically do it anymore now at 63 and with numerous physical ailments. The thing that REALLY fascinates me about your videos is HOW DIFFERENT the stuff is that re-sellers buy now...compared to when I was doing it. In "my day"...80s/90s/Noughties...we were ONLY looking for old school antiques really. Very few people seeked out the sort of pop culture collectable that now seems to be the mainstay for re-sellers. I would never in a million years have even bothered to look at things like...trainers...or...film memorabilia. How times change! In some ways...I kid myself that I could still do it...and I imagine myself running around at the crack of dawn...exactly like you do, and exactly how I did...for four decades of my life. I absolutely lived it... And my life hasn't been the same since I stopped it. 😞 But...your videos have brought it all back to life for me! So...thank you so much 😊
Brighton Market in the mid to late 90’s before they built flats on the land, my dad was making £1000-£2000 every other month, just selling antiques that he had bought and accumulated from charity shops.
Hey James ive really enjoyed your videos the last week or so, i didnt even know about all this ebay reselling and more so you can actually make a living out of it, the best of it is the sourcing of goods, ive always loved carboot sales and charity shop hunting for bargains but never thought good resale value could come of it. In short keep up the good work mate ive learnt alot from these videos but can i ask, could you share how you got started, im a total beginner and have never been on ebay and would love to give it a go. i like the idea of more freedom being self employed, could you share with us the viewers the behind the scenes set up. how to become a business, strategies on keeping accounts or bookkeeping for tax returns. How did you start? can you start off on a private account and transition to a business account etc. at what point do you become a business. what are the hardest things about ebay reselling? what is required to be as successful as yourself mate? cheers
Just starting out on my Ebay buying and selling journey, I was wondering do you promote your Ebay listings and if so what Percentage? Really enjoy your videos too.
the £1 note was a thing back in the day, same with the sixpence, the penny farthing, half penny etc. phased it out many years ago though as inflation basically rendered them useless
Never use the washing machine! That’s a shoe killer 😬 I use boot buddy brush, warm water and fairy liquid (no need for overpriced shoe cleaning kits), dry in the sun or radiator in winter 👌🏼
@JammyDodgerFlips what about shoes with suede and dirt deep in the shoe? Can understand that for easy to clean shoes but certain products I feel are needed to clean heavy stains on shoes?
Love the content. Quick question for the Polaroids I presume you’re selling them untested? I understand the cassette/film acts like a battery and powers it up. So unless you buy the film how would you know it’s in full working order? Also does untested lower the value a bit? I see loads of them at my boot sales. Thanks
Thanks for watching! They’re both tested and working, I have a spare few Polaroid films which are empty but still have battery in them, these are my tester films for future Polaroids I find. As long as they flash and make the function sounds, then usually all is good.
I want to start going to car boots but I don’t know where any are, are there any round Cheshire ? Or like a group I can join for them to notify me ? Love the content
EBay sold prices all well and good but never going to get that 100%. Plus doing it full time will mean income tax on what you are making. So take away income tax, ebay fees, postage, be interesting to hear a ball park figure of what bringing in a year. Is it really more than say a standard average full time job?
A lot of the time it actually sells for more than the sold I put on the screen 🤫 I’m not going to share what I make annually on here, my videos are just for entertainment. However, it’s more than what I was making working for the man at a 9-5 dead end job. Plus nothing beats being your own boss, of course! But you gotta put the work in if you want to reap the rewards. Nothing comes easily.
I enjoy watching these videos but I think you really need to stop telling people what change they need to give you. I'm sure they're able to work it out themselves. It's pretty irritating 😆 I often wonder what the sellers think when you do it.
Lol, never heard anyone mention that, must be a thing I do without realising, we all have our ways, things are noticeable when there’s a camera tracking every single word/action. Also I don’t trust sellers to give me the right change, so it’s probably down to that too. Sellers can think what they want, most are happy they’ve made a sale 🙂
@@JammyDodgerFlips Too right as well At our local car boot they have stopped “sellers” setting up early. Certain types have been putting up a table, sticking a couple of bits on it and then scavenging around picking up VCR’s, trainers, electronics ahead of the rest. Utter vermin. Stopped all that nonsense. Woop woop 🎉🥳
One of the ones I go to on occasions there's a couple of "sellers" don't even bother putting up a table, just park the car in the selling field, lock up and go round hoovering up all the goodies before the buyers get let in. The back of the car is always full of consoles, hifis and such
@@JasonJohnson-yu8zf Disgusting to see. They have clamped down on it at ours by admitting all at the same time. Problem is now the low life harass people trying to set up. One seller last week shouted “everything is £100 until I’ve set up”. Didn’t do down well but I had a giggle to myself…

probably not a fair comparision but compared to froggy flips whose videos are chilled and slow yours seems like your rushing around, even checking items its like your scared someone is going to take it from you...calm down
lol, completely different world. No time to be calm at a boot sale, Froggy has all the time in the world when he’s the only buyer at his yard sales 😅 Quick and snappy is my style, take it or leave it 👊🏼

Just love all the find's you buy at the car booty. The batteries were a beauty!! Glad the wife made some money too. A good day for both of you.😊👍
Was a good morning, definitely nice to have a break from parenting for a few hours too 😅
Yeah those batteries should make a strong return 🤞🏼

Bosh!!! What a cracking find 👏
👊🏼 Gotta find those buyers!
It’s a good day , keep up the work 👌
Thanks ☺️
what a find on those batteries! and the two Polaroids to be fair! great pickups as always, looks like you smashed it with this one X
Thanks mate! Yes was definitely a strong sale this one, sometimes you just get find after find. Not all boot sales are like this unfortunately haha
Great video as always ❤
Thanks 🫶🏼
11:28 should’ve grabbed that Wilson tennis racket. Would fetch around £15-£25 on that
Had one sitting on the shop for a while, thought I’d leave it this time 👍🏼

uk needs to start printing £1 notes, makes life so much easier pulling out a note then hunting for coins

Bought a shampoo for £1 once sold it for £130 happy dayss

How do you normally clean your shoes mate?
Any specific products used, or just through the washing machine for example?

Love how the woman was selling her shoes and so resorted to wearing two plastic carrier bags on her feet 😂😂
Haha I know! Made me chuckle seeing that 😅
Do you sell on vinted as well?
Nope, just eBay

Just google your local area
Thanks but no idea to be honest. Google should help 👍🏼
Google 😂😂
Hi mate what locations are some of the car boots?
Mine are in Hampshire/Surrey, plenty others around though
Nooooo I got cut out of the video 😂😂

Does anyone know which carboot is this? Thanks

Yeah but your ebay fees, postage and other expenses can be written off on tax return, so if you've got a decent accountant you won't pay much tax.

The car boot world 🤑
You should show a running total like sloth 😂

Would’ve emptied my wallet if I went for them 😆

Tricks of the trade. I still bought at the same time buyers were allowed in, as you get kicked out if you’re buying too early at this place.

People are asking eBay prices partly due to channels like yours telling everyone what you're making. Sooner or later, there will be no deals at all.😢
