2024 paper terrace dollar tree challenge
1. Everyone is welcome to join! The official series will begin March 1st 2024 and end March 25th. But you can play along at your own pace.
2. Create a journal using dollar tree items with a budget of $20 or less. Any type, theme is welcome!
3. Basic supplies and tools are excluded from budget. Scissors, glue, punches, or things you already have that aren’t the main part of your journal. If you are questioning using something jsut go for it. No stress. Have fun.
4. Watch my video series for inspiration but try out some fun techniques and get creative on your own. I will have secret giveaways in some of the videos and the very final video!
5. If you want to share videos or photos, I will add to my own playlist for everyone to watch!

This is my first time making a journal & doing a challenge. So excited To do something creative!

Great idea I already use dollar tree supplies along with others , but I t is a great challenge to just use them for the whole process. I am in sounds like fun!
I watched the 1st video and now after seeing this, I definitely want to join along. Sounds fun. I have so much DT stuff at home, I’m going to pull from that. I don’t have a YT channel or anything but I can comment my updates.

Also, i am really interested in seeing how you incorporate the math pages into your journal. The design of the math pages seems very different from the design of most of your journals. I always look at the kids books and am never sure how to make them "blend in" with the rest of my journal theme, so i pass them up, usually.
I am always amazed at the state and quality of your Dollar Trees. Those that are nearest to me are always a huge mess and rarely have a full stock or good selection of items. I'm looking forward to seeing what you and all the participants do for this challenge!

I am in Salem, and the dollar trees close to me rarely have good crafting stuff….Sometimes I get a little jealous when I see all the good hauls others make. Sounds like a fun challenge.

Ok, I'm in. I love a challenge that is not too complicated. I usually do botanical, floral, butterfly themed journals so I'm thinking about maybe a children, animals, or mushroom themed journal with more mixed media type pages. This will be completely different for me. We will see how it goes. Thanks for doing this, Jessica. The creative juices are flowing.

This is an awesome idea!!! I'd love to join but have been suffering w energy/ambition to actually craft lately, like I REALLY want to but cannot get the energy to do it 🤷🏼♀️ I don't know...
I do not have any social media (by choice) and no RUclips channel so is it possible to do this without those things? I have email & am a Patreon member would that work?
Also, what about things like brads, metal fasteners, laces etc that are in my stash but not from dollar store?

I'm In, but I'm new to Junk Journaling so not sure what I'll come up with yet.
Eeek! So excited for this! And just to clarify-in your shopping video I think you said that it's okay for us to use other items we already had from DT that we've already purchased? Or did I misunderstand? I have some of the twine and the yellow envelopes, instant coffee, and some of their crocheted ribbon. Thanks for this challenge!! 💕
Are we allowed to use digi kits that we already had on our computers for added embellishments? I know you said sewing machines, paints, scissors, etc was fine but I wasn't sure about previously purchased or free digitals that we might have already had on hand or even the remnants of previously printed files from other projects.
This looks fun, I have a question though. I have lots of items that I have already punched from the Dollar tree from making prior journals, can I use those items as well or does it have to be purchased specifically for this challenge.
Are we still eligible to enter even if we don't have The Dollar Tree (like you see it) in our country? Could I do the equivalent of another Dollar Store in Australia? If so, I just spent hours researching and I got an idea for my entire journal from a pencil case at that store! Super excited! Will work out what $US20 (plus tax?) equates to in Australian dollars.

March 1st? 2024? We are not there yet. My view says this was posted one day ago. I just want to be sure this is a current project. Also, is there a deadline?
This is a current project! I will start the process videos tomorrow on March 1. I will have about 10 videos up every day or so after that. I will close off the challenge March 25 if you want to enter the final giveaway but no biggie if you take longer to complete and follow on your own timeline. That’s up to you!
