Farmer engineering! What fun.
I enjoyed seeing the small tractor doing what it was supposed to do. Your very nicely maintained tractor and attachments were very nice to see, and I appreciated your giving your tractor a bath at the end of the day!
A subscriber, first time comments. I did my first plowing in about 1955 on a Farmall Cub. I did have an International Cub for a short period last year but I sold it. I wanted an unstiled red Farmall. I was lucky and was able to buy a one family 1951 w 6 pieces of equipment a couple months back. I got it all home a couple weeks ago. So thankful to get it. Not perfect, but darned straight and much loved by 3 generations. Now I have to sort it out, but I did get 5 manuals with it. Thanks Danny for giving a shout out to Joey (Jtwes). The shelves work, plus he knows the Cultivison tractors! Very knowledgeable and helpful. I’m getting long in the tooth for serious gardening, but it sure is fun and the wildlife are big supporters of my efforts. Lol. Thanks for sharing your knowledge of the Cub and how things grow. Stan here.
Wanda, I don't think you get enough credit for all of the filming and editing you do......Great job!!! Keep the faith guys! Cheers!
Danny I'll admit I dont know anything when it comes to tractors. But man, you have done an amazing job for a working restoration. Sure do appreciate the knowledge you have shared about it in these videos.... Wanda, your roses are absolutely, beautiful. Roses have always been one of my favorite flowers, wild and hybrid cultivars alike. I love them so much, my daughter's name was Sierra Rose..... we lost her in 2017, at the age of 16 in a horrible car accident. Now that my health has improved some, I plan to go ahead and make a memorial rose garden on my property overlooking a pond, and the river that flows near. Thank you for sharing, and as always I enjoy all of your videos. ~Adam.
Sorry for your loss.
🙏
Have a great day. God bless
We bought our first dexter cow, calf and she's bredback already this weekend for our homestead. So excited for this new adventure that the Lord has blessed us with. I know its from him cause I have been secretly praying for this for a long time and he has been putting my husband and I on the same page. He sustain us. God bless you both. Keep informing us with your knowledge it very useful.
Congratulations
I have the same prayer in my heart. Unfortunately, the Lord has not turned my husband to it. Probably not ever gonna happen for me, but who knows in this crazy world these days. happy for you to realize your dream & be so blessed by the Lord. Pray for me
For what it’s worth, I have been praying REAL HARD that y’all get a massive bumper crop of Danny corn, and if’n I were a betting person, I would bet that I have lots of company in that prayer!
He is correct about middle sprocket on fert chain , looks like you got disc hillers working just right , The Small Farmalls can make a field look good
Good morning Danny & Wanda! May God bless you in your endeavors today. 👍😁🙏🙏🙏🙏
Wow the Homestead looks great!!!!!!!! Our garden is doing amazing this year and we are harvesting onions already. Blessing, Mike
What a wonderful video Danny- Thank You Sir - I only have a backyard garden but I grow so much out of it. I admire how you look after your Farm Equipment- my Father taught me to look after your Tools & they will look after you. Cheers Denise- Australia
You look so excited for your self unit keeping everything organized love watching you riding your tractor 🚜 just like a kid lol. Thank you Wanda for sharing your roses 🌹 they are beautiful. God bless both you 🙏
Love the little baby cub sitting next to the bigger baby cub, reminds me of the little train series from Britain.
Toot Toot. LOL.
thought I was the only one that had that thought : )
Morning Y’all , just an all around enjoyable video, I live some of the old farm ways through you Danny, I still use a mower that is 23 years old , by taking good care of things they last ! Thanks for sharing your time with us !
Good morning Danny and Ms Wanda I love watching the videos you do on the farmall cub tractor Danny you are a great teacher there is alot of information for anyone that has a farmall tractor for the first time you go into such depth detail thank you even when you walk and talk about your gardens and planting and taking proper care you amaze me I learn something new every time I've built my first green house you inspire me to keep going and building more areas for gardening I've start my fruit orchard you are a true inspiration thank you bye for now stay safe and God bless from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
WOW! Danny, you have quite an assortment of parts for the tractor and they are very well organized! Fannnnntastic!
Watched this on Monday night. It’s so good to see how good of care you take of the tractor. When I was a child, listening to the tractor plowing in the field and smelling the fresh tilled soil gave me a secure feeling. Wanda, your roses are beautiful. Blessings to you both .
I love watching that old tractor Work. We just got our high tunnel up. Thanks for the great videos, and all the help.
When I saw this photo, my first thought was, "Greeeen Acres is the place to be...faaarrm living is the life for me...". 😂 Not poking fun. I loved that show and I love the life!❤❤
My corn down on the coast below y’all is five feet tall already and flowering I’m hoping for a good crop this year lol great video brother
I grow up in a little town in the Netherlands with ploughing horses and hand seeding there for i love this so match
Wow...it seems to me that corn grew up pretty quick. Like the way you have the tractor part storage set up. Stay safe up there and keep on growing 🤠.
Awesome rig 👊
Sir, Cole planters would work on a cub tractor. Don't go letting them sprockets go until you know you won't use them.
Corn looks good. Yes we are having some crazy weather here in Central Alabama lower south some of my tomatoes are 4 feet tall.
You remind me of my Uncle Bug. He farms like you. He had more rows but I remember the dust. When he was low on fertilizer my dad, brother and my self would load him up. I was young so watched and learned. The farm was a good experience. I miss it.
Thank you.
Thank You Danny. Corn is coming along great.
Learning a lot from you sir . Please keep the cub videos coming
Working the corn on the cub is a joy for me . I always plant double rows under the width of the cub. I'll hill from the outside and use the fertiliser point as combination fertilise and cultivate down the middle of the two close rowes.
I have raised sweet corn for 50 years here in Southern Indiana and you need to put your P and K on when you plant because it doesn't leach very much at all like nitrogen. Then just side dress your corn once when it's between 8 and 14 inches tall. That'll give the plant plenty of time to ear out before the nitrogen diminishes.
Looking good Mr. Danny! Best I remember, the cross bar on the back lift goes down. There's nothing like listing disks for laying stuff by. RED POWER THEN...RED POWER NOW!
Danny and Wanda I don’t think you know how to sit and relax:) your place and knowledge is amazing!
i watch jtwest all the time to , along with all your videos too , and railey farm and field . your all good guys and i learned a lot from ya'll .
Miss Wanda's roses are looking really beautiful.
love those roses
The barn is awesome! Everything is just beautiful!
Farmall cub a great little tractor. The best of what America used to be. Those old tractors like the popping Johnny, the Farmalls/internationals, Fords, Massey fergusons and many others made here all great tractors built to last.
Good morning from the Gulf Coast Of Alabama.
Good morning
I love to see a cub work I wasn’t sure what you were referring to when you said “laying off” but after watching the video I figured it’s what we call “side dressing” up here in the north. Keep up the good work.
God bless you Mr Danny & Mrs wanda ,
Thanks to yall and Hollis and Nancys Homestead.
My garden is looking amazing
Thank you so much and still growing more food ,
Now that I pulled my onions , I have even more space an deciding on what we want the most of .
God bless you both

Texas 🙏🏻👍🍊🥦🌶🍆🍑🥕🍓🧄🥔🍎🍅🥬🍋🥒🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽
It does make more sense looking just like a timing chain tensioner in a car engine.
May GOD continue to bless y’all much love n prayers from North Texas
Corn doesn’t wait for anything. It does it’s thing and that’s it, whether it’s two foot tall or six foot tall when it’s time to tassel out it tassels out.
Your corn looks great! Ours is a little behind yours so we will be laying it by soon. The cows are watching 😊
Hi guy's if spring is too short use a small chain to extend to hook in March,e the right just a tip cheers good info
Thanks Danny. Very Informative.
Thanks for sharing 🙏 😎 🏖 🏝
beautiful camera angles Wanda - you're good!💯
Your video on the inside of the hopper was very helpful to me as mine was in a pile of pieces when I got it. I'm so glad the chain tensioner advice was helpful so I could return the favor. Just found out yesterday on Lincoln Ag's page the large flat corn plate 1979 A Is a perfect fit for pole and bush beans. Checked some seed I had on hand and sure enough perfect fit.
I am also having the same problem getting the adjustment just right on the rear sweeps. High enough for travel but deep enough in the field. Thanks for the great content.
Good morning... Enjoyed the video. May God continue to bless your family.
I love the shelving for organization. Looks great.
It's a shelf system and a work bench. Clever.
I like to thank you guys I love you videos
You have a beautiful awsum farm .home sanctuary I love your place all a man could ever ask for or dream of beautiful place .love your video and vision. Joey bunker saline Louisiana
Yeah I watch Jtwes as well. Have a Cub as well. Enjoy your vids as they are super educational. I don’t use the spring shanks. I use the cub shanks with no spring BUT we have no rocks at all. Better for my application. Unfortunately Cubs were not very popular here and there are zero parts available locally. Good vid!!!
Garden looks so good. I plan to dig some of my potatoes today. Thanks for another great video
Another great video of a piece of American agricultural history at work
Mr. Danny, Covington planters might be a good source for parts. There in a very old warehouse in Albany Ga. Great video!
I also just side dressed my corn with some 13.13.13. Hoping the Lord provides some rain..I use the fertilizer because I have about 16 inches of sand on top of some light clay..good drainage but poor nutrients God Bless. Growing in Texas
I think that back bar goes to the top usually. But I would also say it can and probably was intended to run it any way the user wanted based on what they wanted and how much lift. These farmalls are so versatile in how they can be set up I wouldn't be surprised if it was intended to go either way. There so many ways to set them up and adjust them often more than one way to adjust something to get the same end result.
The shelves are very important . You start laying out cub stuff on pallets it do t take long to cover up a quarter acre.
Mr Danny if your tractor is hot you should always wash it while it’s running or never spray cold water on the hot motor
That was very enjoyable to watch. I learned a few things as well :) Have a great day.
That is too cool seeing that tractor work.
Your corn looks wonderful & so do your roses 😊
Danny that is a awesome little cub 👍👍🙏🤝 Oh my how I would love to have a cub on the farm .
I’ve got a 1954 MTA but she much to much for the garden .
Thank you brother for all you have done for the community 🙏🙏🕊
🐓
Danny you probably know this but just in case you don’t you can get a manual from Steiner ( hope I’m not looking foolish with this comment 🤝)
What is that old manual typewriter noise while the tractor is running? Is it just a weird digital effect from the microphone being overwhelmed? You her it really well when you get off the tractor waiting for some of the fuel to be run out before you switch it off.
My clutch pedal has a little slack in it and rattles .
your upper plow link bar DOES FACE UPWARDS . in the manuals and in use . that allows your clearance , and better adjustments for plowing . where are you guys finding and buying those BULL TONGUE plows at ? i want a set for my cub and my Super A both !
I got mine from an old guy who sells junk stuff.
Jtwes has a Farmall 140 that's what I grew up on cultivateing strawberries cantaloupes and everything else.
Dad still has it so it will be mine one day.
Nice video. Learned more about growing corn! Thanks!
Look at that Cub go!
What a great shelf setup. I'll need one of those together for my parts. Im thinking i'll paint the side supports with chalkboard paint and label what i can't see on those top shelves
I enjoy watching all of y’all videos. God bless. September 26-2024.
That’s good your finding out all this about the cub
I really want one of them Farmall tractors!
Somebodies need to produce a manual on how to operate that tractor. From start to finish, I mean, how many people even know what a choke is and what it is used for anymore.
Danny the rear bar go's on the bottom I was told by multiple cub sites . I had my rear bar on the top too.
Thanks
The tractor is a life saver for us older guys. 81😢
They probably welded it cause it was all sloppy and worn out.
We built shelves like that to store our Christmas boxes on upstairs at the house. Did it without even think about his . Also put a set in my shed before I found Joey. That size are perfect for storage.
Good morning Danny. Your girls sound like they miss you!
Haven’t heard “laying by” in years!
If you don’t sell that guage shoe I be interested if you still have it been looking for my collection and use. Love videos.
A man came and got it.
Danny that is one nice cub, love to have a fertilizer setup they ain’t cheap. Do you ever use the lay by wings we call them bat wings. I’ve got a set never figured how set them up good enough. Joey JTWES helped me set up my rolling cultivators on my cub, man that corn is way ahead of mine!
I have videos on using the layoff sweeps.
That’s what I’m talking about feed that soil some 13 13 13 make that corn grow
Your corn looks beautiful ❤️
Great video, Danny and Wanda. I've been looking for that bed knocker for my combination planter on my 140. I would love to buy it from you if you havent already sold it. Let me know how to get in contact with you other than on here. Thanks.
Email me at deepsouthhomestead@gmail.com
Everything looks beautiful. We can't put anything in ground until 12th
That looks like the tractor my father had we never put the starter on it we had the crank on the front
Man I love that tractor ! Do you know anyone who has a fertilizer unit for sale?
I'll look around. Burch tractor company hah some.
I would love to buy one of these tractors but everyone I find doesn’t have the planter for it. And I can’t find parts
Some people don't need to have a welder and you've just discovered it Danny.
good morning
Danny, I just watched your last porch talk & sent the link to husband's email. He could not watch it, it said it was private. We went to look for the video on Deep South Homestead's list & it's gone. Did RUclips take it down?
No it went up early and we had to take it down till tomorrow.
most hardware store has them
Have you ever been contacted by the History Channel? You would make some great documentaries thank you for sharing God-bless
Yes all the time.
I think the tensioner should be on the bottom, on the 'non-load' side. I'm assuming it is being driven by the front sprocket, and the top of the chain is pulled tight when operating? Therefore the tensioner should be on the bottom/slack side of the chain and pushing up. I'm no expert, but every tensioner that I've ever seen takes up the slack on the non-load side...
Its driven by the rear sprocket.
Do you have to water your corn and if so how do you do it? Potatoes too
No we don't water anything hardly. It's so humid here things stay wet.
Sent some pics via email. I believe that piece is turned down.
i have to buy me a belt drive for my cub , since i already have a int . harv . corn grinder . i have a cole planter , i will buy your gears
Send me and email to deepsouthhomesread@gmail.com
I was ready to subscribe but then you brought religion into it. I have nothing against anyone having a religion, I’m just a firm believer that religion is how you live your life and is best kept to yourself. Unless you’re in your place of worship, etc.
