How I can make a sample frame when my population is unknown. For example, I want to do a study on Agri-entrepreneurship of two Districts but I don't know exactly how many agri-entrepreneurships are there. Under such a case how I can make a sample frame.
In such case, we just have an estimated population..

One more query sir, based on the estimated population, can I make sample size by using the Cochran method of calculating sample size in case of an infinite population. After calculating the sample size, how can I use the probability sampling technique for selecting respondents under such cases?
@@surajdas2320 when population is not known, we do not use probability sampling.
For infinite population, you can use any formula for sampling, or even minimum you can take 350+ sample and for reference, mention UMA Sekeran

Sir, is there any formula of selecting sample in sociological research? I was asked about it in my thesis viva and i had no clue what to say. Kindly help me in this regard.
Yes...there are many formulas..
Cochran formula,
Margin error formula, etc

@@hariselahi9979 qualitative study are a quite different in nature.. there we use different techniques
Its mean the above mentioned formulas are suitable for only quantitative techniques? Sir there is another confusion that when a person select a particular sample size then what is the justification of choosing that sample size, as we know that the sample size for quantitative research is mostly large while in qualitative the sample size is rather small. Sir i encountered with this question in my viva as my reserach was completely quantitative based and i selected sample of 300 with out knowing that there is a formula behind. So i didn't able to justify my sample size that why i selected the sample of 300?
@@hariselahi9979 when you use formula, it itself a valid justification.. you can say that based on xyz formula I selected this sample..
