I would recommend getting car window rain guards. I live in Hawaii and I can still leave the windows cracked open to get air flow without any water getting into the vehicle. Got mine from Amazon.
We used the large garbage bags from Costco to block the rear car door windows....closed the door to hold them up. The one inch of the bag that hangs o n outside the door is barely visible against our door trim.
Thanks for the video, on mine i bought on Amazon a mattress foldable in three parts each part got 24x24 total is 72” , im 7’2” perfect for me on my trip back to belize from Quebec for the space behind the passager seat i putted à cooler was perfect
Hey Dave! Inspired by this build and wanting to use it for some long distance road trips this summer. Is there any chance you happen to know the total length from rear hatch to the front seat pushed all the way forward? I'm 6'2" and hoping to squeeze in.

Great tip.
That is a good looking Matrix. I have the Pontiac Vibe and have been converting it into an overland adventure rig.
We lucked out to get it. It’s a 2008 with 217k kilometres and many more to go.
Cool setup? Do you know if the 1st gen has a longer trunk with the seats down then the first gen? (not counting the folded passenger seat).
Yeah I am not sure of that. Thanks!

@@alexfontaine6233 thanks a lot. Appreciate the kind words and support. Happy Camping!
buy reflective insulations rolls and cut it to shape of windows or windshield and use Velcro straps tape so you can take on and off when ever.
@@KojiLvLUpSoulTribe great tip!
For my matrix I am going to put a shelf across the cargo area so I have a place to stow gear.
That’s a great idea! 👍
Kool.
Use magnets on bottom of screens
Darn it. That’s a great tip. And I have some strong ones here at home. Thank you.

Hey there. When I put the passenger seat forward, I’m 6ft even and can fit. Don’t know exact length though. I think I have a little wiggle room too.
you should try cutting out cardboard
I tried that and failed miserably. My arts and crafts skills are terrible. Might give it another go.
Not card board. Use the brown art paper, cuz not sooo stiff as a template
@@flyinhawaiian7226 another good tip. Thank you
