I'm not big bicycle guy, don't really know much about much. But I've had a few bicycles for my daily commut, 3-4 now and I've destroyed all of them, I ride like 15-20kn daily in Tokyo Japan. this rich old lady just bought me a BadBoy1 sickest bike ever, just so so so good in so many ways. 1,000x superiour to my previous bikes. (I also had a BadBoy 4, destroyed it in like 9months) BadBoy 1 is so sick, get one if you can
I was waiting on Canyon too. I just found a Bad Boy 1 first. The Urban looks amazing, but it's spec'd with CDN. The Cannondale comes with Gates CDX. I bet the Canyon is more comfortable though. Tough call.

I like them just fine and don't feel like I'm going to slip like metal did. I was a little skeptical of plastic at first, but appreciated it when it got cold. I keep them pretty tight and use a single finger, so I've never noticed any flex.
Is it true that you can't put properly such a bike (with internal gear hub like Shimano Alfine) on bike stand because there is not enough space between rear wheel dropouts and brake disk? As a result rear wheel does not reaches holder's basis.
Yes and no. It doesn't fit into that floor display stand securely (with the arms of the stand wedged between the wheel and frame). However, the rear 15mm axle nuts are plenty long to lean the bike into the groove of the stand and keep it decently upright, and it prevents it from rolling out of the display stand. I haven't had any trouble with it. At the office, I use a more practical stand like this (www.bikewagon.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/thumbnail/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/9/3/93884.jpg)
Actually I have such an issue with my Canyon Urban 8 which has Shimano Alfine internal gear hub too. So I must find another bike stand because this type isn't reliable solution. P.S. could you specify your recommendation for bike stand because previous link doesn't work.
I use a www.amazon.com/BIKEHAND-Floor-Parking-Storage-Bicycle/dp/B00CW911SM, but this (www.amazon.com/gearup-Grand-Stand-Single-Floor/dp/B0007917D8) looks cleaner, smaller, and cheaper.
hello.. did you have trouble mounting the sensor on the fork for speedometer? I bought a Cateye Pedrone and mounting the sensor on the fork has been a real pain 9it will not stay in place due to thee irregular shape of front fork).. can you describe what you used and how you mounted? thank you Joe
stateniland There's a cadence sensor on the left crank arm, but nothing on the fork. The Garmin Edge 1000 uses only wireless sensors, and calculates speed using GPS.
We can't all be Ministry fans, and I hadn't intended it to be a backing track, it was just playing in the other room. The dialog is simply that it's a C1 alloy frame of 6061 aluminum, the lefty fork is rigid and the lightpipe, while cool, isn't really bright enough to be useful. It's quiet. The Alfine 8 hub has adequate gearing and I find myself mostly in 6th & 7th for regular romps. The front hub squeaked annoyingly until I greased the O-ring under the dust cap (a common complaint apparently). The rear axle nuts are 15mm, if you want to stock your tool pod/bag/pocket properly. I swapped the Fabric grips and saddle for ODI's and a Brooks Cambium C15; I also ditched the platform pedals for Crank Bros. Candy 7's. The seatpost LEDs are controlled by pressing the top LED. Then there's the supplemental rear light & radar, and head unit that have nothing to do with the bike's review.
somebody is hitting a trashcan with a dying pig in the background as it seems. BUT a super nice bike. I wonder if you could run that with a pinion 18 gear instead of the shimano 8 gear, which would push it up to a whole new level.
If the Alfine8 suffered some catastrophic failure requiring a new hub, I'd certainly build that new wheel with a Rohloff. My point about the Alfine8 being sufficient is in comparison to my previous commuter which has a 105 compact group with 11-34 sprocket.
Javier Meza It's about 25 lbs. It's quick if you've got the legs for it. 8th gear is pretty tough to stay in on flat road and the IGH feels nothing like a 105 drivetrain. Not bad, just different. The stock handlebar is 72cm and that makes it a bit twitchy. I cut it down to about 65 cm and now it's nimble and tight. I haven't really opened up on it yet. The fastest I've hit is ~ 25 MPH, but I didn't even realize I was doing that. So, yeah, it's stable at speed now.
It uses a Shimano Alfine S503 Rapidfire shifter. It's mechanical, not automatic, though there is a Di2 option. It's capable of shifting through all gears at a stop. In fact, it prefers to shift under no load.
Just bought bb2...i love it🙂

How do you destroy your bike in 9 months.. do you not take care of your stuff. “Rich old lady” .. you mean your mom? Your mom bought you a bike
@@zureai yes. It was my My British mom. HR executive of Tokyo Electron. Love my mother.
My congratulations buddy! This is really very cool bike! I very want the same.
Thanks for the video!
Good luck!
I've had the same issue with my front hub. Had to add a drop of oil. Other than that I love the bike. Great for Chicago streets.
did the noise stop after you added oil? Where specifically did you add it? I have the same issue with mine.
the best looking hybrid bike on the market
Good video, and nice bike. Don't mind the h8rs.
Nice bike! Torn between this and the canyon urban 8.0 that’s coming out to supplement my road race bike.
I was waiting on Canyon too. I just found a Bad Boy 1 first. The Urban looks amazing, but it's spec'd with CDN. The Cannondale comes with Gates CDX. I bet the Canyon is more comfortable though. Tough call.
Chris Swanson what’s CDN?
@@emilsal Gates describes their CDN line as being for "casual" riding, while CDX is their "performance" line.
Great bike - I have one... ("Music" gave me a headache).

i find the Plastic Levers too Flexy

i want to like these bikes but i just can't get over that fork
I just got my 2018 Bad Boy 1.. I like the tool pod and the handle grip. Can you recommend where you picked them up.? Also the seat looks nice.
Eastsider212 It's all on Amazon, but I bought most of it from the LBS (support your local shop if you can).

Are you using a cadence sensor for that Garmin? If so can you show how it's mounted?
It's on the left crankarm. It's just the standard Garmin rubber strap holding it on.

O Ok ty
I'm sorry my friend I'm not trying to be rude with you but can you make the same video without the music
Of course, there's another version without music ruclips.net/video/WOJCWir_9J8/видео.html

Music is EXTREMELY ANNOYING. Had to stop and look for another review. Sorry.

Sorry about that. Try ruclips.net/video/WOJCWir_9J8/видео.html. I did another review just for you.
somebody is hitting a trashcan with a dying pig in the background as it seems. BUT a super nice bike. I wonder if you could run that with a pinion 18 gear instead of the shimano 8 gear, which would push it up to a whole new level.
A Pinion drive would be a heavenly option, but aren't the accommodating frames Pinion specific? I don't think the BB would be convertible.
*hits his head* You are right, it isn't. So maybe a Rohloff 14 gear? At least i know for sure that a Rohloff speed-hub works with a gates Drive.
If the Alfine8 suffered some catastrophic failure requiring a new hub, I'd certainly build that new wheel with a Rohloff. My point about the Alfine8 being sufficient is in comparison to my previous commuter which has a 105 compact group with 11-34 sprocket.
Hi there! What is the weight of the bike?
Boris Goldenberg Cannondale says just a hair under 25 lbs.
Chris Swanson does it feel heavy or nimble? Is it stable at high speed or twitchy?
Javier Meza It's about 25 lbs. It's quick if you've got the legs for it. 8th gear is pretty tough to stay in on flat road and the IGH feels nothing like a 105 drivetrain. Not bad, just different. Chris Swanson sounds like a great city commuter. This internal 8 speed hub has no shifters?? Its like a CVT automatic?
It uses a Shimano Alfine S503 Rapidfire shifter. It's mechanical, not automatic, though there is a Di2 option. It's capable of shifting through all gears at a stop. In fact, it prefers to shift under no load.
