I can't help getting a bit of a nostalgic feeling from this Sig P320 AXG Classic. It brings up the same feeling many years ago (probably like 30 years ago) seeing for the first time the SIG P210-6 Neuhausen with those lovely checkered wooden grips. It's 2 different pistols but for some reason this draws me back to that era and pistol.
I may have to try this out. I played with it in the store last weekend and loved it. I was wondering how it compared to the Scorpion. I never liked the flat trigger they put in the regular 320s. Nice review!
The Pro is my favorite on the AXG line. Followed by the Classic with the Scorpion coming in last. Only my opinion. Having said that, if I had to choose one to carry, it would be the Classic and I would upgrade the grips to LOK Grips. As always, thank you very much for watching!

Love this gun. I realized I love any metal frame pistol when I got this. Led me down a rough path on buying metal frame pistols. Looking at a staccato c2 eventually.
Nice job on the review especially, since it was done on-site at Shoot Point Blank in Carmel Indiana! I like you, much prefer the metal curved trigger and the Classic format over the Scorpion model. I did have the opportunity to handle one at Shoot Point Blank Cincy-West in Ohio; Now let's go into the safe and see what I have to trade in!
I had the same lecture from kriss, i told them i have been through the kriss federal full auto operator and maintainer courses at fletc. I have 21 years of gunsmithing experience, a degree and the mos ADA course. They told me (I swear, the next thing the person said was) " take two fingers while bracing the grip in your right hand and pull the charging handle to the rear" I hung up and the vector went back to the shop. I had to cancel the form 1 i had just put in....it was worth it.
I was in there a couple days ago and they had one in the cabinet. Please say hi if we happen to run into each other one day. Thank you very much for watching. Cheers!
Scorpion color not to your liking , I understand, but to bash it by saying that it has a “plastic trigger” is absurd . Sig does not put plastic triggers on any of their pistols… smh. Own both and the scorpion trigger is actually better … if your a shooter.
@@MDpolo They really are almost identical in every way other than style and the trigger. I like the classic trigger better though but the scorpion trigger would be better for competition shooting. I’ve shot the scorpion and it’s really much the same experience as the Classic.
Thank you very much. I appreciate your feedback. For me, the trigger shoe does make a difference and the Classic fits my hand a lot better. Thanks for watching.
What did you do to remedy the situation with customer service? Did they rectify the issue. A buddy is having issues with his slide cycling properly on the Classic due to guide rod on the recoil spring assembly snagging on the outside of the slide when racking the slide.
What did I do about it? I got rid of the pistol. It’s not that important to me and I don’t have time for companies that treat their customers like this. I have a couple more Sig Sauer videos coming out because they’ve already been filmed and uploaded but after that, I’m done. I saw the pistol to a friend of mine that wanted it with full disclosure. Thank you very much for watching!
Good review, love this pistol! Had a M18 I had the same issue you explained for the scorpion and they gave a little pushback but not much and took the pistol, adjusted the slide and returned all in a two week time frame. I will be getting this pistol for sure, very solid
Thank you very much for your kind words. They didn’t even give me the opportunity to return mine. Simply a lecture on how I didn’t know what I was doing. Anyway, I appreciate you taking the time to watch.
That is correct according to the current guidelines. However some channels are not getting hit even though they do break the guns down. Every time I do it that video gets demonetized. Thank you very much for watching.
You never show the underside -- what does the magwell (or lack thereof) look like under the grip frame? And what is compatibility with various AXG related mags?
I gotta get those grips on my 226,that orange just kicks it off, those sights are superb, that gun is just stunning in its simplistic, clean look.Hogue I love..
the classic looks of my P320 AXG are great; however, the oval-shaped end of the gun rod is very quirky. Whenever I break down and reassemble my gun, I find the oval-shaped end of the gun rod does not stay securely in place. Instead, it's askew in the gun on a diagonal. I understand the Oval End of the gun rod is designed to sit vertically in the pistol. However, whenever I break down the gun, it moves sideways, and whenever I reassemble the gun, the slide won't close unless the Oval -shaped end of the guide rod is perfectly seated. Your thoughts?
I handled one of these yesterday at my LGS. I really liked the weight, but the trigger was very surprising. On take-up I literally thought it was a double action pull. Breaking the wall took considerably more force than a classic striker fired trigger. I liked it a LOT! The rest was gritty and a bit spongy, but that may work itself out after break-in.
I was not impressed with the trigger in the AXG Scorpion and I am not impressed with the trigger in that Classic. Just my opinion. Thank you very much for watching.
@@MDpolo Picked one of the classics up for a great deal. It has a very good reset, but I am surprised by the break. @@rt1326 I agree with your assessment. Also, it will make a noticeable difference if you purchase the guide rod that comes in the AXG scorpion and install it in your Classic.
Being a diehard classic P-series Sig Sauer hand gun aficionado I had to fondle one of these at the local Outfitter store (Scorpion version). I have to say this was one of the most natural feeling handguns I ever held. It pointed in a terrific manner and the trigger was sublime. I'll never get my wish for 10 round mags to fix the M225A1, so the AXG will have to do. This pistol felt like a single stack classic Sig in my large hand.
It is one of the most comfortable grip modules I’ve ever held. By the way, the P225A1 is one of my all-time favorites. Thank you very much for watching.
@@MDpolo Thank you for the great content. The P225 is an excellent DA/SA option, but sadly just doesn't make a whole lot of sense with today's options when factoring in weight, round capacity, and overall dimensions. Picked up a P228 M11A1 a few weeks ago and it's fantastic. The fit and finish do not fall short whatsoever.
The M11-A1 is another favorite of mine. The only reason the P225-A1 makes sense for me is because I shoot it so damn well. Thank you for your kind words by the way.
Thank you Roy. Indeed, RUclips now considers field stripping a pistol to clean it as modifying a firearm and the videos get demonetized. I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment. Cheers!
If a slide is sticking... typically you can add a lot of lube and just rack the slide like 100 times by hand... while watching TV or something; giving it a "break in period" of sorts, and it should smooth out quite a bit. Granted, you shouldn't have to do that-- but it's not that big of a deal really.. You can practice aiming at things on your wall while you do it, and get in some dry fire practice.. get a good feel for it and break it in before you even shoot it. I almost always do this with my pistols, just because I want to play with it anyway, and I can't wait until the next range day. lol..
Yeah, I know what to do with them. It’s not good when a pistol doesn’t go back into battery. Especially when you pay that much for a handgun. That’s the way I see it. Thank you for watching.
Correct. It's metal. And all P320's are still a P320. I have two FCUs that I swap between frames and slides. I have an AXG frame and can make the "Classic" or the "Pro" with my available slides.

I’m so sorry. Contact Sig - as they did to me, perhaps they’ll give you a 10 minute dissertation telling you that you don’t know how to rack a slide... Thank you very much for your kind words and for watching.
I’m surprised you had a bad experience… I had pretty good experiences the 4 times that I felt with them for my bb and some questions about the 238 as well as a dead sigh for p365
Very classy, I like the wood grips and everything else. I have been asking p320 owners and they all say that the trigger is 4 to 5.5 lbs. 3.5lbs is the high side for me.
not every P320 is the same as far as triggers. The M18/M17 have the original FCU that most of the P320's came with, as well as a 5-5.5lb pull. The X series had the same FCU's but with Flat triggers, and same pull weight. The Legion X-Five, the AXG Scorpion, and this version have the Legion/Custom Works FCU installed, with a lower pull weight (with the Classic, the only difference is the curved trigger, while the Legion and Scorpion have the Skeletonized Flat trigger) If you are asking P320 owners about trigger pull, make sure you know which version they have.
@@joek6586 Thank you, for answering with the details I needed. My LGS has 50 x-series FCU but now assume none are the Legion X-Five. So I would need to start with the Legion FCU. I was trying to build from scratch with only a FCU with a Icuris Aces grip. My LGS has both the Legion X5 and AXG. I'm guessing a Legion X5 FCU isn't available or maybe special order. The only other option left is if I can build an 80% FCU that is 3lbs.
@@WheeledandWellArmed I would say that if the price of the X-Series FCU was reasonable (meaning below $300), then you can always add an apex trigger kit, otherwise, I'd look into the Custom Works FCU, which is the Legion FCU just coated in Titanium Nitride.
@@joek6586 I'm a quadriplegic and saw the X-FCU with flat trigger for $250 but from what you said I need a "Legion FCU". I don't want to spend $1200 to find the trigger sucks. Or that maybe an Armory Craft trigger might help. I will see if my range will let me dry fire an AXG or Legion X-Five, they have both.
I saw this one at a local shop today. Videos and pictures don’t quite do it justice IMO. I really enjoyed the subtle touch of the Classic! I didn’t pick up the AXG Scorpion but I did end up taking this one home.
I agree with you. I tried my best to color correct the video because the true color tones of the pistol we’re not coming through correctly on camera. Thank you very much for watching.
@@MDpolo Well I love your video and insight into the AXG Classic. Thank you for sharing about your experience as well. That’s definitely something that matters when paying this kind of money.

Now that ny and nj are opening up concealed carry to all Americans i will be purchasing this for my first edc gun…. Very excited and am looking for red dot recommendations
I like this version of the axg and want to get one if possible just a bit high on price but still want to try to get one qnd plan to still. Looks like a great gun. I have the basic 320 and just bought it a few weeks ago and still need to go shoot it
thank you for honest response--have not held one myself, love sig p365 and xl , my second gun was a 226, many years ago . I mostly have all but one striker fired now, always love honest reviews. have 10 think glocks, many SA and walthers, 7 sigs but have not gotten into the 320 series. Thanks for up close & thoughts of the p320 classic, I dont really think it fits my needs honestly. love channel, thanks for response
Nice video! The AXG Scorpion was the only flavor option at my shop and I don't regret it. Had one return-to-battery issue and one stovepipe out of an initial 200 rounds so far. Chalking it up to break-in woes. Sig is slowly converting me to striker fire platforms with their triggers. Out of the box, the action on the AXG feels on par if not marginally better than the more expensive Walther Q5 Match.
Obviously a totally different look between the two. In my hand, they shoot and feel the same. The grip module is tremendously comfortable. Call personal preference. Thank you for watching and to let me know which one you end up with.
@@MDpolo yeah this classic look kind of got me but I think I’m going to get the Pro and then buy a carry or compact slide/barrel and a Wilson grip module and use it for carry and use the Pro for range, etc. that’s the cool thing about the 320.
Wow @sigsauer so they are making more custom guns with the special mags. But when I bought my scorpion axg a month ago, it came with basic mags. They said they kneels about it but had no plans to swap out when parts came in.
MDpolo, I recently purchased the AXG Classic. As I was watching this video, I noticed you have the star or hex screws on the grips. Can you provide me the dimensions of those screws? I just don’t understand with this being a Custom Work gun why they would install standard looking screws. Joseph
I'm sorry Joseph but I sold the gun so I cannot help you. However, call Sig's customer service department. They can provide you with the dimensions of the screws. Thank you for watching.
Oooof. The customer service story at the beginning leaves a terrible taste in my mouth. If they are rude to someone who reviews their product on RUclips, imagine how rude they’d be to a first time customer.
@@MDpolo Sorry to hear about your bad experience. I've dealt with SIG's customer service several times over the years and never had a problem with them.
As I mentioned, what made it worse is that I’ve dealt with the same guy for a couple of years now. It’s not like I called some random customer service associate who doesn’t know me from Adam. Anyway, thank you very much for watching.
It’s been a long time since I filmed that video so to be honest with you, I don’t remember if it was a plastic or a metal trigger shoe. Thank you for stopping by!
The video does not give you an accurate representation of the color. It is the camera and the lighting. I try to color correct it the best that I could with my limited abilities. They are true Cocobolo color.
Congratulations Paul. It does feel fantastic in the hand. They did a fantastic job on the grip module. Thank you very much for watching and please let me know how you like it up to you shoot it.
Good video good sir. Question for you...is there the slightest bit of play in the back strap on your pistol? Purchased mine today and noticed there is the slightest bit of play on the back strap of my pistol. Thank you in advance if you do respond.
None in mine. FYI, LOK Grips recently came out with grip panels (including the backstrap) for the AXG series and they fit like a glove. Thank you very much for watching and for your kind words.
Excellent video, MDpolo! I watched several video reviews of the AXG classic, commenting that it has a cheaper guide rod/spring than the Scorpion, adversely affecting the action's feel! Also, that the guns finish may fail prematurely. Your thoughts?
I love the look of this pistol and the ergonomics of the grip are superb. I don’t have it anymore so I can’t speak to the long term issues that you mentioned. Thank you very much for watching. I really appreciate it.
I can't believe Sig costumer service treated you like that. Especially spending all that money! Did they work with you at all? Or did you have to take a hit to trade or sell it off? I really like this pistol. I don't know if I would pay all that or not. They don't have full rails. As you said being the modular. Accuracy?

Carmel has been having some sig jewels lately. I picked a xcompact, a X5 legion and a RXP full size. You beat me to that Gem.
Yes, I’ve been getting pretty good stuff. Thank you for watching!
Very well said. Thank you very much for watching and for sharing your comment.
Sweet looking gun!
It sure is. Thank you for watching.
I want both.
Is the mag release reversible?
Yes. Thank you very much for watching.
Nice looking and feeling pistola. Held one at my lgs today, but 1300+ i had to pass for now
I agree. Not worth $1300. Thank you for watching.
Another nice review! It does look nice.
Thank you very much. It is a nice one.
I appreciate that very much. Thank you.
I just got this but haven't shot it yet. But love the look and feel of it
Gratulation’s on your purchase. It does feel fantastic in the hand doesn’t it? Let me know how you like it after you shoot it. Thank you very much for watching.
did you buy it?
I did not. Thank you for watching.
Just ordered mine. Have the Scorpion already. I will compare and just keep one. Scorpion trigger is metal. This is a very nice looking gun though. Good video. You tube restrictions are so stupid.
Indeed... Thank you very much for watching.
Most Sig pistols have a great trigger.
All personal preference. Thank you very much for watching.
I think I need to know where I can purchase one
Shoot Point Blank in Carmel Indiana has them. Give them a call and ask for Sean.
Now that ny and nj are opening up concealed carry to all Americans i will be purchasing this for my first edc gun…. Very excited and am looking for red dot recommendations
Congratulations. I’m a big fan of the Holosun 507c X2.
I like this version of the axg and want to get one if possible just a bit high on price but still want to try to get one qnd plan to still. Looks like a great gun. I have the basic 320 and just bought it a few weeks ago and still need to go shoot it
There are three versions.. the Classic, Pro and Scorpion. Which one to get is my dilemma.
My personal preference? The Pro. Thank you for watching.
thank you for honest response--have not held one myself, love sig p365 and xl , my second gun was a 226, many years ago .
You are very welcome. Thank you for your kind words and for watching.
@@MDpolo no problem, will keep eye out for new vids and go check out older ones. Take care bud
Thank you very much and God bless.
Thank you very much for your kind words and for taking the time to watch. I appreciate it!
Deciding between this and the new AXG Pro
Obviously a totally different look between the two. In my hand, they shoot and feel the same. The grip module is tremendously comfortable. Call personal preference. Thank you for watching and to let me know which one you end up with.
@@MDpolo yeah this classic look kind of got me but I think I’m going to get the Pro and then buy a carry or compact slide/barrel and a Wilson grip module and use it for carry and use the Pro for range, etc. that’s the cool thing about the 320.
Indeed it is. Modularity has many advantages.
I want this gun!
Wow @sigsauer so they are making more custom guns with the special mags. But when I bought my scorpion axg a month ago, it came with basic mags. They said they kneels about it but had no plans to swap out when parts came in.
Not the first time that I hear that. Unfortunately it seems to be something they are doing. Thank you for watching.
Exactly. Thank you very much for taking the time to watch.
Always remember everyone has a boss if you aren’t getting the assistance you need speak to their boss. Everyone hates that.
Good point. Thank you for watching.
Never heard of any 320 coming with a plastic trigger.
It’s been a long time since I filmed that video so to be honest with you, I don’t remember if it was a plastic or a metal trigger shoe. Thank you for stopping by!
My only complaint, no range footage...
Love the clasic looks as opposed to the Scorpion.
Working on it. As I said in the video, the pistol was not mine at the time of filming this table top video. Thank you very much for watching.
gun go bang
I hope Sig will launch a full size AXG module...
That would be very nice. Thank you very much for watching.
On camera the grips looks very light in color and/or have an orange tint to them....is that just because of lighting or is that how they are?
The video does not give you an accurate representation of the color. It is the camera and the lighting. I try to color correct it the best that I could with my limited abilities. They are true Cocobolo color.
@@MDpolo thanks for the clarification and thanks for a great video! God bless and take care of yourself my friend!
You are welcome and may God bless you as well.
I just bought one of these love the look and I cant wait to shoot it!!! Feel;s so good in the hand and I will put a Romeo Pro on it.
Congratulations Paul. It does feel fantastic in the hand. They did a fantastic job on the grip module. Thank you very much for watching and please let me know how you like it up to you shoot it.
You’re in the Indianapolis area?
I am.
What a beautiful Sig love the classic look. This gun makes my M18 jealous.
It is a very pretty pistol. Thank you very much for watching.
I want the M18!!!!!
@@kwik2hear915 the m18 is a really nice handgun I am happy with my purchase
Good video good sir. Question for you...is there the slightest bit of play in the back strap on your pistol? Purchased mine today and noticed there is the slightest bit of play on the back strap of my pistol. Thank you in advance if you do respond.
None in mine. FYI, LOK Grips recently came out with grip panels (including the backstrap) for the AXG series and they fit like a glove. Thank you very much for watching and for your kind words.
Wow 🤩
Accuracy?
I took a hit on it. Not much but I did take a hit. Full disclosure to the buyer. I will one. Thank you very much for watching.
Nice pistol 👍🏻 I want one 😎
Shoot point Blank in Carmel Indiana has two of them in the case. Thank you for watching.
@@MDpolo sweet 😎 thanks for sharing
Great video but that gangly ring gives me the shudders.
Well that’s what happens when you lose some weight. Never thought that a loose ring would affect someone so much. Thank you for watching.
