Americans are the only ones oblivious to the reason behind Drakes “Jamaican accent” both Toronto and London, Uk have the same slang derived from the patois due to the huge number of Jamaican immigrants that live in both cities. It’s something all of us can turn off and on and it’s how people talk in our hoods. This is why drake feels so at home when visiting the UK, where this freestyle is filmed.

I'm American. We aren't oblivious to the accents. We're just closed off. We speak Proper English. Y'all speak Queen's English. Which we call broken. We're ruled by the English settlers that betrayed their own kind known as pilgrims, the "puritans". So they kept the outside influences outside as much as possible and they barely changed our language due to negating outside influence. They bred the rest of the people of the country to. So in turn we'd be to lazy to learn anything else. Still it's sad in a way, but hey maybe yall need to flood the country more right?
