Thanks for a brilliant video. I really enjoyed it. I love Prisoner Cell Block H and Bea (along with Lizzie) is my favourite prisoner (although Erica is my favourite character over all). I hadn't seen the interview with Parky either so thanks for something new as well. If you had plans to make similar videos about any of the other characters/actors, that would be great!
@ what was good about Parky was he wasn’t an entertainment snob and paid equal respect to actors, regardless of their country of origin or entertainment medium.
They do a similar thing in the US on a series of Interviews called American Archive Of TV. They do alot of Interviews with folks who were groundbreakers on TV.
great video and the show really struggled when Val quit. Even despite her protests though I feel she could have continued had she wanted to but perhaps her strong personality off screen went against her with the powers that existed in the organisation at that time. Prisoner really wasnt the same once Val and Sheila had gone, it almost lost its heartbeat.
I used to watch this with my Nan when it first on television then I watched the reruns which were on late night and I think it was Channel 4 then when the series came to an end they replaced it with with dangerous women which was equally as good
I’d like to genuinely know what happened to Val’s voice and mouth later on in life. As she sounds like she’d had a stroke. Does anyone happen to know ?
Queen Bea!!!!! I agree the slip letting a man in was terrible, they should have had a man hide in the shed or something not actually be insducted into the prison lol - now it would be more ok as surgeries happen. However agree with Val here at the time this wouldbe stupid.
Wentworth kinda must’ve ripped that off. Can anyone remember what episode that was or episodes? I don’t remember that at all and I’m in period sorry I mean period

I still watch prisoner today best series I've ever seen loved bea and rita and myra
A lovely collection of interviews there! 👍
You can tell she enjoyed this role because she’s very sentimental with her memories.
Iconic episodes by my favorite Top Dog 👊🏾 Bea Smith 💛
Hey Stacey. I knew you’d “Bea” here. 😂 Love Tezzy ❤
Wow, that Parky interview was absolute gold!
Especially as she mentioned Nola.
Interviewing this woman must have been a low point in Parkinson’s career after having interviewed Hollywood A listers such as Betty Davis.

Val Leaman such a beautiful woman. Prisoner was so popular. A great Grundy Production. Well done Val!
She is a national treasure, we luv ya, bea😊🙂
Bea come back 😢
Val telling a British TV host about Bea's character was a bit strange to me. Prisoner was more successful in the UK than it was in Australia.
No it wasn’t. It was very successful in Australia.
BEA Rules!!!
Legend.
Agree with her on not teaching any child how to make any type of weapon well done
Watch cbh again on true TV it brings back memories from years ago when kids in bed cup of tea feet up heaven

Good point Val for not wanting anyone to learn how to make a gun.

I presume the Parkinson interview isn't in full anywhere?
Prisoner: Cell Bloch H was the beginning of the Australia invasion. They produced shows and movies that were shown all over the world at the time.
Boy did Bea get her comeuppance. Franky died and Bea died at Barnhust in a Riot.
Lizzie was my favourite.
I don't ever remember that scene of bea strangling a hairdresser.
Me neither, and I’ve watched the show all the way through on quite a few occasions. Maybe it was just an out take?
@teralmiles possibly but I would like to see it now 🤣

It is from a scene where Bea has amnesia.
She has flashbacks of when she murdered her husband's lover.
Brilliant Actress was shocked seeing she was Dressed in this talk with Parkinson
The series went down the toilet after Val left. Only Miss Ferguson kept it interesting.
It definitely wasn't toilet. Myra and Rita did some great stuff and many others.
Shes 88 now
WRONG! Val is 81.

@@kerrijohnstone7588season 2 episode 3-5 one of them 😭
This interview must have been small fry for Parkinson when one considers the A listers he has interviewed over the years
LOVE Prisoner, HATED PRISON. That's no life.🥱
